It is really exciting what these girls can do and their entire team that supports them. I loved the strings ladies playing their instruments and rocking along with The Warning, they were the best placed fans in the venue, and they even got paid!! Amazing!!!
Whoever composed the string parts did a fantastic job! 😎👍
I saw somewhere that the string section was an all female group.
I should also mention that Dani’s vocals have matured so much since their Teatro performance, she sounds incredible! I love when you geek out on things, please don’t ever change that! ❤
The attention to detail on display here, and throughout the whole concert, is remarkable. For a young band to deliver a show of this caliber is uncommon, to say the least. The sound mix, lighting, video background, stage set-up, musicianship, vocals, stage presence… all top-notch. And now we’ve got an entire string section? It’s amazing.
Again, an already pic song made even more epic, again at the Pepsi Center. With all the trimmings! String sections, Alessia’s background vocals and Lzzy Hale’s gift to Dany. The fans singing with them. And that you can see the three sisters in close ups. The combinations are so awesome. I am in tears!!!!
The re-invented song of the decade, this is such an iconic song that I feel will last the test of time in the world of "Rock". 😆
STUNNING!!!!!!!!!!!!
You have to remember that all three of them are classically trained pianists. These ladies are real musicians, not just pretty faces. I would not be surprised to learn that they (or at least one of them, probably Pau) did the string arrangement themselves.
It completely baffles me the people who watch reaction videos and get mad about pauses. If you want to watch the videos without pauses, go watch the original! It's a reaction channel for Pete's sake. Sheesh!
I agree! When the reactor hears something that excites them, I want to hear about it.
On top of it!! First on the take, luv it! You know there’s going to be mega reactions to this
Those string players were having a blast. If I'd known a violin player had a chance to do something like this I would have kept on with lessons as a kid.
Another fantastic detailed analysis. The more stops, the better.
They're WONDERFUL !!! as Always....I Love Them Forever.
WOW! Just WOW!! Incredible.
This was the song that introduced me to the warning - oh my gosh, the STRINGS! It’s funny you mention Pau’s interesting bass patterns, cause I just started trying to learn this song on the drums - and you’re absolutely right! She rarely uses the traditional “money beat”. It seems like she follows Ale’s bass line very close and it sounds amazing. I love it. As a fairly new drummer, Pau is so inspirational
To the gentleman that don't like the way you do reactions... Buh bye. You love the girls as much as I do and that's all I need.
Well hell!! May piss off some die-hard Metallica fans (I am one) but they simply need to just hand this one over to The Warning. Never seen or heard anything like this in many Decades and all I've got is this: ‘Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious’". Thanks Ken. WOW!!! is quite correct.
If I were to guess, depending on your age, "Enter Sandman" probably isn't in your top five Metallica songs even prior to The Warning.
@steveherman6909 You would be wrong and yes it is...seen them live 5 times.. and they played this great song each time. Have tickets to their Charlotte show near me in May 2025 at Bank of America Stadium. Love the original from Metallica, this is simply the best re-imagining of this song by anyone to date. Sorry MHO, it is better. Is what it is.
@@CarlD70 Fair enough. I first saw them on the Damage Inc tour when they opened for Ozzy, so "Enter Sandman" didn't exist yet. I don't hate on the Black album, but it did fall a little flat for me. I also think "...And Justice For All" is often underrated, just for context. I do indeed love what The Warning did with the reimagining, and do recognize that "Enter Sandman is a Metallica classic, just not one of my favorites. Apologies for assuming, mate.
As I commented for another's recent reaction video for Black Holes, prior to this show, Pau was conspicuously absent from several interviews, and people were wondering why, but Dany and Ale never addressed it.
When the fan-cam videos first came out of the show and I saw that they had a string section, it hit me that, Pau may have been absent from those several interviews because she was helping to write and arrange the parts and score the charts for the strings.
After all, due to her extensive formal training in classical piano etc. and stint at Berklee studying composition, we know that she can read music at a high level and more than likely write out charts as well (Early on I saw a home video showing a whiteboard with written music on it in 'The Warning Cave'). So, my point is that Pau may have played a substantial, integral part in composing the string arrangements we're hearing here as well. I don't think that it's too far-fetched to assume that. You did say that, in certain sections, the strings sound "Warningish".
I have seen a man's name mentioned in another video's comments that composed the string parts, I don't remember the name though. I would not be surprised if Pau worked with someone in the arrangement.
This version has "with Alessia Cara" in its name. And this is no accident. Alessia was not only singing but she was also a co-author of the arrangement. This is why the sisters will never remove the Alessia backtrack as long as they sing Enter Sandman (but sadly they may now sing it very rarely).
All your comments about Pau is why I am dreaming of her on Drumeo hear a song for the first time series, as I suspect that this would be extremely interesting.
I am hoping for that as well ever since I saw the first one.
I'd like to say, I'm glad you pause and go back that's what I'm here for.
I agree with the black and white video and OMV.
Only thing I miss from the Teatro on this is the Ale falsetto. I'm sure its still there but can't really hear it in this. Or maybe she was even more under the weather than Pau.
I've never noticed Dany playing that part with fingers before either. I wonder if it was to give room for all the extra instruments or if we just couldn't see before.
Yeah, Pau and Ale are always so locked in especially that kick.
I still want a version with Ale doing the "now I lay me down to sleep" part like they originally planned.
There you are! First to react!!!
Almost.
I really like that little concertmaster (principal first violin) solo leading into the song. The music itself was composed by someone who really understands string writing. It was dissonant in parts, but not bombastic like when Metallica recorded it with the San Francisco SO.
You're one of the few reviewers who have noticed that the riff at the end is played differently from the original, with Pau contributing to the melodic line, not just setting the beat.
During one of the fanvids, I noticed that when the strings started to leave the stage Dany stopped the concertmaster and had them all come back out on stage so she could credit them. The strings themselves were placed quite prominently, the violins and violas on the steps to the drum riser and the cellos on the floor well forward facing the audience (which probably made it a bit more difficult for them, since they couldn't easily see any cues from the concertmaster).
They've dropped it altogether from their set list (the only song they're now playing not from Error or KMF is Narcisista), and I won't be entirely surprised if it doesn't come back. I suspect that if they do bring back some older work (I hope they do) it will be some of the stalwarts from QoTMS and perhaps Survive or When I'm Alone.
Oh, and I *do* appreciate pauses to point out interesting things. I like analytical reviews/reactions because it's a way to learn something. If I want to listen to it through, I know exactly how to do that.
Excellent reaction later❤️😎🇺🇸
I'm totally in shock after watching this. They need to play this with Metallica now. That has to happen
next time the oh oh oh can be preformed by a choir😂
Fast! Great great song!!
🤘
🤘⚡️🔥Brilliant!
Alessia Cara & The Warning did performed Enter Sandman live second night at The Troubadour (LA) during their Mayday US tour in 2022. Don't think both artist will perform this song live again. Since The Warning has dropped Enter Sandman from their setlist.
To me. I get this *"Psycho"* vibe with the strings on Enter Sandman. Unlike the strings that accomplied *"Black Holes".* These strings added the nuisance of this nightmare of the lullaby. If only The Warning had more time & a larger budget. They might of added strings to their Blacklist cover.
I almost referenced Psycho in my comments after the "stabbing" section.
Thanks for pointing out Pau's drumming style. Being a former drummer myself, my ear is tuned to the percussion then the bass, etc. Also now in my advanced years, it is so wonderful to hear a drummer with such varied tools to pull from. To me she is a mix of Keith Moon, Gavin Harrison and Neil Peart. Drummers that didn't just keep time, but played the song. Of course Pau has the luxury of Ale keeping time so she can focus on playing and singing.
Hate to do this to Metallica, but they are not the sole owners of the song anymore.
This amazing performance from Pau mere minutes after radiating her soul out to 8000 fans singing Black Holes and Beathe. She truly is Super Human.
THIS WAS BAD ASS ❤🔥🤘⚡🤘
The Warning and their team are the best. Republic records struck diamond , platinum and gold better known as DPA. What a phenomenal show. 🤘⚡️🤘
Would the initials mean that Ale has to be aluminum? She is very flexible, if need be, yet strong and resilient.
First time I heard The Warning was going to do The Blacklist album doing Enter Sandman. I said why. It was promoted Alessia Cara and The Warning.
Great. 😮
Then I heard the trailer. My interest perked up. Couldn't wait for a audio/music video for it.
Since & still only like one song from Metallica and that's *"One".*
I hate watching people react to the official video of One because of all the movie shit they put in it. It's not like it's hard to figure out what the song is about without the footage. It's just distracting to me and I feel like viewers are being robbed of hearing parts of the song. Maybe it's just me though.
@@ige-individualgroupeffort-kenl - I never saw the music video when that album was released. Think I saw *"And Justice for All"* CD at the library. Took it home. Listen to One. Like it. Never thought it was a war song until I saw the video years later. Didn't care for the video. Was a mess.
Thank god I was around before MTV. Where the only music video is in your mind.
Your problem, Ken, is that you see and hear to much. And you share it with us. That's why I listen to your channel. Most of TWA has heard this song many times and haven't seen many of the things you show us. It is YOUR channel. Keep being you!!!
Alessia Cara did ES once live with TW. It was their Troubadour concert May 23, 2022.
I'm not one to rail on Lars Ulrich, but I do like quite a few drummers over him, including Pau of course. Same with Kirk Hammett, solid player but not spectacular. I first saw Metallica when they were opening for Ozzy in April of 1986 while Cliff Burton was still with us. To me, he and James Hetfield were why Metallica are considered among the "founding four" of Thrash Metal. This was of course prior to the "Black album" and "Enter Sandman".
The Warning's retake on the track has always been quite fitting, as the 2014 cover is what drew attention to the multi talented Villareal sisters as any fan already knows. I believe this will be one track that is canon to the setlist, perhaps as long as they are performing live.
The strings remind me of a Bond movie.
fun to see a couple of the violinists with big smiles..,,strings in ES,, who'da thunk it?
I always watch the original release like I'm sure all your subs do. I tune in for your insight even as a long time supporter of the band I like other intelligent input you catch things I miss. The Drummer from Helix has a small you Tube channel he also pointed out Pau's Posture as perfect and how accurate she hits the heads. In closing if he doesn't like your videos who cares

Ken, I've been going through these Pepsi Center videos and for some songs, like Dust to Dust, Paulina's vocals have been switched to the Teatro vocals. There's actually a lot of this going on in the pepsi center videos. Even though she was sick, I enjoyed her original pepsi center vocals better. Do you think bands should replace entire stems like this or from a marketing perspective, it just has to be done?
From my experience singing live, I can tell you that there are some vocals on nights where everything else went great but you were sick or had a bad night, you just can't put it out that rough (It's embarrassing). Especially with a huge project that you put a lot of money and effort into. I won't ever go back to compare because, if they did replace some of the vocals, those fan-cams are never going to be watched again now that these are out. Every band fixes glaring issues in a big release. I think it's the right choice.
@@ige-individualgroupeffort-kenl I'm always going to be mixed on these fixes, but that is the standard, for sure. Appreciate the reply.
I really think you should add "In your opinion" to your statement unless you have some definitive evidence to support your claim.
I just went back and listened to D2D from both concerts, and from what I hear, there is a clear difference in Pau's vocals of the same part from each performance. From 1:10 - 1:14 at Teatro you can hear a break in her voice when she sings "Now", while at the same part in the Pepsi concert which is from 1:07 - 1:11, she seems to sing it cleanly.
@@GreatOutdoors1 It's all opinions here. There's no point in putting that disclaimer. Going through a lot of The Warning in Studio One has shown me that their big releases are altered quite a bit. All bands do this. Teatro and PC are both altered in big ways. That's just how it is.
Did you notice that Ken answered my question with zero hostility? Because we both know bands do this.
I need more pauses and more redundant commentary. 😏
Nobody likes my sarcastic humor? 🤷
Sarcasm is so hard to convey in a comment. I keep trying as well and it rarely goes as planned. I tend to use the full all teeth grin emoji to suggest it is just sarcasm. Works most of the time.
@@ige-individualgroupeffort-kenl Point well taken. I thought a smirk emoji would suffice. Some people resort to /sarc in brackets, but that lacks subtlety. 😁
Oh I get it now...took a minute after listening to Ken. Clever. Sarcasm noted.
The string part sounds weird out of place or messy, but I think around or after the bridge it sounds a little better, prob it was lack of rehearsal like it was said before
Not sure I agree on the messiness from my way of listening but it's all in the ear of the beholder. I didn't want you to feel like I don't appreciate the comment by not giving it some love though. I assume there will be others who feel the same as you. It's all subjective.
@@ige-individualgroupeffort-kenl Like I said, it sounds good in the other half of the song, and indeed subjective haha, but it's the warning, I love no matter what, and watching reactions like yours and others is always a great experience, bc its the same feeling of sharing with friends or live the experience again through other eyes or ears
first
Metallica needs back to the school 😂
