      Aside from oil pattern, it's also due to the number of games and bowlers having higher rev rates which break down the lanes faster and diffrently, and I'm sure a number of other things.

    The mental toughness needed when every shot feels like you're swinging the ball inside a phone booth just to stay accurate is exhausting. I've only had the pleasure of trying one regional and it was incredibly tough and I performed horribly but learned a lot. Don't you love it when what feels like a perfect shot turns into a disaster? Keep grinding!

  • @Babasultandiaries
    @Babasultandiaries 11 дней назад +6

    hey bro your game is cool and smooth, but you still need to keep your sliding foot straighter, so you don't point chest and foot towards the adjacent lane and keep missing inside and you can't get a consistent proper follow through coz your chest is facing nearly 45 degrees to your right and blocks the movement of your swing. love your footwork its smooth, when your foot is straighter at the slide finish point you will have a better release on your intended target and arm will follow through better and get a better shot post most of the times than not. GOOD JOB.

    • @JCBowler
      @JCBowler 10 дней назад

      100% correct. I'd recommend watching Marshall Kent who plays deep but slides straight and pushes the ball straight too. The right foot controls his launch. A lot of people tinker with opening their body and sliding or pushing down their target line. Many coaches teach that but it's too inconsistent. The lanes are an optical illusion. You only need about 3 degrees open to play all the way left so get that with your right foot and downswing not your left. Tougher patterns will punish you for missing right and missing left. Kent breakdown video here: ruclips.net/video/pfaUQpH9oIg/видео.html

    • @buckeyecountry04
      @buckeyecountry04 8 дней назад

      The foot isn’t as much as the issue as much as just a lack of upper body rotation. The upper half is out of sync so a lot of power is lost as a result. I personally would like to see more drive from the lower half, but the upper half being not timed well is the bigger issue and a simple fix.

    No Hate Just Criticism. 220 Avg bowler, at the first couple of games you used the swing technique you’ve been practicing with the last couple of weeks/ months. After the game scores started to get lower you changed it to your old good for nothing swing and scored even lower a little bit. Why? As a youth bowler, most of my coaches and my dad always told me to not change my technique/ swing and my scores only go up. YOU HAVE TO TRUST YOUR NEW SWING AND STICK WITH THE BALL THAT WORKS.

    • @theonewhoknocks8632
      @theonewhoknocks8632 11 дней назад +15

      I'd bet it was a subconscious move. He may have suspected he resorted to his old swing but really confirmed it once he saw the videos. Once you groove something to the point that feels natural, making any change then feels then feels unnatural, even if it's correct. As your body fatigues, it will naturally default back to what it thinks is normal, which for him is the higher backswing. It's also a very common that if you are working on something new, and it isn't producing results, you will immediately go back to your old habits because at least that feels comfortable. Basically, if I am going to miss this shot, at least let me miss it in a way that feels normal and I feel like I can control the result.

    • @jeffjohnson2731
      @jeffjohnson2731 11 дней назад +4

      @@SkateClipsAndTips that really stood out in this video... as the day went on, his footwork was all over the place, especially once he moved next to ball return... I would target those games 4-6 as what not to do and try to get used to bowling bigger sets of games with that new style in practice... you'll get there, but it will take at least 100 games for most new styles to feel comfortable and really take hold

    • @jakeschutz6342
      @jakeschutz6342 11 дней назад +2

      Major changes in technique often you will see some regression in results until the new technique is locked in solid. I empathize with 220 as I made some major technical changes during the last year and it definitely took a hit on my average, but once the changes took it was well worth it. I like his lower backswing; better ball motion and he posts shots way more consistently. I hope 220 sticks with it and lets the changes become ingrained.

    Great video Michael. I always struggle with transition and I feel like the more left I move the worse my form is as well because its so foreign to me. Im so used to playing straight when I move in I don't know how to get it out the right comfortably. But, very pretty amateur and have never bowled on transition like that in my life. Ill be lucky to find the pocket again after trying the 2 or 3 tricks I know, then I'm lost. Love your content. Super inspirational and genuine, as well as thoroughly entertaining.

    Went to a smaller tournament a month ago and bowled on a pattern I never saw before. First game was really good, but it quickly broke down and I lost my shot. With only being a weekend bowler with my work schedule, I didn’t know how to move or keep consistency.
    With that said, I’ve been working on my entire release and have seen a ton of improvement. You’ll understand what to change and what to work on and come back better.
    Good luck on your journey.

  • @badbowlers
    @badbowlers 11 дней назад

    a session with mark baker would breakdown the balance issue. When you pull down from the top of the swing with your upper body the response is the lower body opens up to counteract the force being applied. It’s a muscled swing that causes that. The shots where you don’t muscle it typically stays on line and strike and your lower body doesn’t get wide open at the foul line. I appreciate the effort and your videos. Still rooting for you Mikey!

    good thing you noticed ur going back into the old form and of the swing, also would recommend a spare ball at this point.
    trying to be norm duke is one thing but many of those spares could've made without having the reactive ball hook.
    also can't say if its the fault of ur "old form" but ur release is also quite inconsistent, maybe check ur pitches again in the proshop ? with the amount of games you play and gym wouldn't be surprised if ur hand / fingers went through changes

    You would know better than I, but it looked like on the ones where your approach was faster you had the old habits creeping in. When you got to game 4 the old habits were visible, but do you think that could also be because you were "loose" and warmed up? I notice that for myself as I bowl longer I get faster on the approach and my swing gets higher. Even on ones where you slowed your approach just a tad the ball came out a lot better even with a bit of a higher swing. In the previous video's you've either posted or been in, your approach with the new form has been much slower than what I saw in this video. I also can't imagine what the mental side would've felt like in the middle of it all, dealing with that is it's own beast. I see some people saying you switched to your old swing, but it definitely wasn't on purpose, that much is obvious. You don't need any pointers from me, but I think the least I can offer is feedback from what I see in this video compared to what you've shown in others. Hey but for a 1st go at it with the new form at a Regional, stepping stone. You got it man!

    Let me say first that I greatly respect your game. That being said, it appears to me you always fight the same tendencies. You like to drop your right shoulder and don't always square up your shoulders and hips at the line. Therefore you tend to throw across your body which makes consistency difficult. You probably already know this because it hasn't been as pronounced lately. Good luck with your transformation. We're all a work in progress!

      When you see pros bowl on TV, it often shows they are throwing in the 17-20mph range. You are likely throwing around 13-14mph (this is measured different at your bowling alley than it is on TV), which is fairly low but not uncommon for a beginner 2 hander. As long as you work on your form, your speed will increase as you keep practicing 👍 consistency and accuracy are key in the beginning, speed will come later

The angles you are playing, make you have to be accurate 100%... you have no error room. Up 5-8 and in... allows you to leave makeable spares... and gain more carry. I see this everytime I go to tournaments... players trying to send the ball to a breakpoint WHILE others wreck that very same break point with urethane an d 2 handed high rev "sprinkler level of accurate" bowlers. Remove that from the equation and go up 5-8 and in... Just a learning experience but next tournament... start to the far right and work your way in. Thats how you break a lane down for sustainable scoring. If you have no friction to send your ball to... you are always going to be over and under. Just some friendly words of advice.

      After you break down the line... you can move to a cleaner cover... and send your ball to the friction. The only problem with this strat... is that it requires other bowlers to also break the lane down properly. In a situation like this... Its impossible. Too many sprinklers just pushing oil and stripping oil in the improper places. Also, since no one bothered to break the outside down... if you miss outside... its GGs and Out the window it goes.

      Started with phaze 2 at 1000, switched to phaze 4 at 3000 later and briefly tried the virtual energy blackout. Should include this in future vlogs

      A valiant effort! Is very hard when it is not going well to keep from reverting to bad habits/prior form. Maybe should have pulled out the invisible ball in practice to intimidate the competition! Maybe a couple of sales as well! Enjoy your videos!

    Looks like you went back to your old ways with the high back swing. Not necessary. Looked good in league, lower backswing with control. You have to remind yourself of the work you put in to fix your backswing.

    you should have added the fart sounds to 90 percent of the balls you threw.
