Great job looks neat! I bought similar black and white but had to rip them off the backing to mix colours. I thought with mesh you don't need spacers though? I had to use em but used sticks like sht adhesive so they stuck quickly and didn't move about much. Just done the grouting, hope it turns out ok.
Thank you. The mesh is helpful with other style tiles, but with these the mesh just doesn't hold them in place enough. There are too many lines with this pattern.
Thanks for an awesome no bullshit video. Quality work. The sexiest shot was the close-up of the tile getting cut! 😆 Did you need to use a special grout to compensate for excessive movement? Looks like from comments it’s holding up well with no breakage?
@@JasonKlunk Nice! and that went just against your framing? What size screws did you use so it woudln't split the plywood/framing? Was it flush with your shiplap? I think e ended up getting the same shiplap from home depot so I'm just trying to make sure it'll be flush hah....sorry so many questions haha
Awesome videos man, van is looking so good! Quick question, how did you instal your stove or are you planning on doing a video about? Definitely getting me confused on how to get the gas lines working/using butane cans
Hi Jason, I’ve never seen anyone lay and grout the tiles on a backboard on the floor or a horizontal plane. Then after drying install the board with the tiles adhered to the vertical backspace area in the van. Is my idea asinine?
@@JasonKlunk leave a non-tiled border around the tiled backsplash board. Screw the board to the wall on the border. Use trim to hide the screws on the border.
Hi Jason, Ive been following your build for a while, you do good work :) question re the tiles, what's the weight added, tiles motar grout? did you uses a special flexible bond and grout? Are you concerned about the mobile earthquake effect on the tile integrity?
Thanks. I'm not sure on the weight, I didn't bother to check since it's such a small area. The adhesive is supposed to be able to flex a bit, so far I've had no issues and I've already driven 6k miles from CA to WI and back.
I'm a tiler learning to surf from your videos man, and stumbled on this. You smashed it, looks professional quality!
haha thank you!
Great job!
Thank you! Cheers!
Looks amazing! 7:44 is this flexible grout? If not, have you had any cracks since installation?

How is the tile backsplash working out after 11months? I'm converting and thinking of doing a tile fasade backsplash intstead
So far, it's still all good! Hopefully it stays that way haha
Did you purchase the tile saw or is there a place you can rent it for just the project? It worked so slick I need that saw!
Looks great! Did you just use a plywood to put the tiles against? What thickness did you use?
Thanks! Yeah, the backing is 1/4” ply.

Thank you. I have a small propane tank in one of my bench seats. The propane is run through copper lines.
Love your channel bro!! What product did you use to adhere the tile to the ply backer board?
Thanks. You can see what I used @ 3:00

hmmm.. how would you attach the board with the tiles to the van?
