Music it's all about deep human emotions and contemplation to satisfy the urge and hunger of ones soul and to be able to connect to far far deep human emotion the connects you to the Al Mighty God's energy to have true empathy for our fellow human being regardless of thier race religion , position rich or poor, color , gender or even power. There is always room for empathy for everyone regardless. With all that said I just nearly touched the surface to the journey in to the vast ocean of Persian poetry . And that is why Persian people have endured 42 years of heaviest back breaking sanction's and have made progress and self-sufficiency on just about every sector . Music happens to be one of them. Love in persian philosophy is about wanting. Not "getting". I don't know maybe it's even a western against eastern thing. Somehow. In our culture it's deep rooted, old stories and poems love is all about one person loving and wanting something, not just a another person,"beloved", could be god, a city, a mountain, a consept you deeply belive in. This is obviously a pop song but even contemrarery lyric writers i think are influenced by that.
Who did translate this just corrupted the meaning of it . Many mistakes at selecting the words . For instance he ir she used dream instead of wish or used safe instead of peace and etc.
