High Performance Imports v5 - part 1 - Ebisu Drift Matsuri

High Performance Imports v5 was the first HPI video released only on DVD, marking the end of the VHS era. This first segment covers the Annual Drift Matsuri event in Ebisu. This event has become much more famous in recent years, with many drivers coming from Australia to take part. Basically it's as much drift as you can handle over a few intense days.
HPIv5 was produced by Ben Ellis in 2002.

A couple of things I should say... Thank you for sharing this video, some time ago I came across this particular upload and it has been in my favourites ever since... I used to have a copy of this video as it was the particular video that got me into cars in 2002. When I lost the video all I had was this clip and others on RUclips so thank you for keeping this alive for me if nothing more haha! The other thing that brought me back to reminisce today was that last week I saw the videos from shirtstuckedin and Daigo, Naoki and Nishida about the closing of Minami to return it to the Rally course that it used to be. Quite a sad day for me I have to say - I know it has to be onwards and upwards but this was kind of like the "first love" so it had a special place in my heart. I hope this video stays here for good and others get to experience the fun days of drifting before things got so serious. How good and refreshing is it to see a sticky taped together 180 that can rip like that... Grassroots is such a fulfilling class to watch!
