If yugiohs time system worked like the clocks in chess where each person has a set amount of time that only goes down during their turn, could that help with stalling? Ig the only issue I see with it is people could stall on their responses but I feel like it might still be good? What's your opinion?
Funny thing in this event is.... if you play dogmatika deck, and you summon zoa and activate it's effect, opponent runs out of time before they can send their cards to GY.
Same. I'm going blind second with a slightly modified version of my ladder deck and currently sitting at a 60-20 record. 75% win rate and fast games, what's not to like?
I played Ghoti in this event and it was legitimately dumb fun, because I basically had 30 seconds to play in both turns. Setting the zone placements to Auto also helped a lot. I call this event "the Anti-Hasher Festival" and he totally found the reason why. It's also the Anxiety Festival because holy hell, I had an aneurysm playing it.
I did this as well but auto is definitely a must since some plays do take a little long when you start stacking a lot of the tuners and searching with arionpos
I played this event using Gaia. The amount of people that cannot reasonably out a 5200 monster, a single pop, and a single negate in 30 seconds might surprise you
6:30 As soon as I heard about this format I was thinking about this exact concept. Present as many choices to your opponent as possible and run down their timer.
This event reminds me of a mode in Tag force where you can set duel handicaps and the biggest one is one where you have 30 seconds to play per turn and your lp are set to 100 while the opponents lp is 16000
Played a Golden Castle Gren Maju deck that I had laying around for this event, and my highlight was when I miscalculated damage, overextended, then had to rush to the end phase, getting there with literally 0 seconds left. I still won.
It's great for it...hexetrude can be a turn and you just don't care if you only draw stuff for interaction because the 30 seconds is enough to make them not check everything like even the field spell. Lol
Been playing this event with Gate Guardians to a great deal of success. Even very optimal turns can be done within 30 seconds and they have a lot of staying power once they get moving.
8:49 why would they not keep Fenrir. It solos the floodgates then they can re-establish their board after removing said floodgates. Keeping the Mikanko cards were a throw
I appreciate it so much that you used warrior land four music. So nostalgic. I actually saw the video title and only clicked on this hoping that the song would appear and you did not disappoint
I deadass just crafted Ben Kei OTK and beat three Dark Magician Players in a row for the Duel Trial. Turns out they don’t have much of an out to Double Summon Mataza when they shotgun the Eternal Soul.
@@eminiclam I just run two copies of double summon and as many good pots (minus extrav) that I can. There ain’t much consistency I legitimately just crafted everything for the event since it was mostly low rarity
This goofy little event was terrifying, and I enjoyed it somehow. There's like no time for ANY crazy combo, and you have to be on point with your disruptions or you'll lose to wasted time.
I tried exactly one duel in this event. My opponent went first. Timer didn’t tick down regardless of what they were doing. I guess it doesn’t count down if you’re resolving card effects? Not a big deal, it’s a bit weird and entirely defeats the purpose of setting the timer to 30 seconds in the first place but whatever. My turn. Timer relentlessly ticks down regardless of what I do, what cards I activate, and what effects I resolve. My opponent got to play an honest to god 20 second turn without losing any time but for some reason I’m forced to feel the relentless tidal wave of the future crashing down on me and no amount of buffering will protect me. I end up quitting the match because, shockingly, I don’t like unfair games.
I went undefeated with Altergeist. People really think they can combo in 30 seconds... I had one purrely opponent that lost to time and my last opponent was literally that hardleg deck... It opened with most of the floodgates but meluseek removed them easily. Overall, more fun than I expected.
I just played Lab, VS and Evil eye. Im surprised that evil eye was the only deck that i wasn't able to go full combo with but thats because the only thing I couldn't do was overlay into darius and Machinex.
I still don't know why time limits just force you to autolose. Like, why not just forcibly end the turn instead? If decisions are mandatory, I guess just randomly pick options for them. I think it would be super funny.
I had to turn off self-chain, manual placement, AND activation order just in case but I finally managed to Exodia OTK with 3 seconds left on the timer! Let's go!!!
I didnt realize how little 30 seconds actually was and went in with manual card positioning and started comboing off, then the timer hit 0... VICTORY! Opponent DCed, I could've spent all that luck playing Exodia and wasted it to win a 30 second meme duel
I've been trying a ton of decks. Turns out Traptrix is really efficient and even if you brick setting 3 trapholes and Sera is good enough sometimes. My favorite deck so far has to be "Big Guy Turbo" Fenrir Pank all the 2k+ dangers with nothing but handtraps and board breakers is more effective than it has any reason being. Following that same Logic Danger Therion is really funny because any hand where you get any Therions in GY every top deck is a big beater with some sort of effect. Also Their field spell having battle protection matters since you literally don't have the time to read your cards (same logic applies to traptrix field spell but it's less searchable...)
@@OhitsONnow and thank god it's not a board that in combo sets up 2 traps and 2-3 monsters is surprising resilient to deal with your backrow they need to AoE Wipes but even then you still have Rafflesia sending any hole and Sera summoning Myrmeleo and Holeutea summoning the other. If only they still didn't lose to Evenly 🤕
I'm glad I finally got something out of this event, good vid. This was my most hated event they've done, since I am not the fastest clicker in the wild west. Even tried VS for shorter lines, but that was too many decision points for 30 seconds or less.
In a lot of menus you can pick a card by double-clicking instead of clicking the card + select/confirm, you can save some seconds by doing this and its obviously really helpful in this gamemode.
Labrynth stun deck: Activate seven cards waste time declining quick effect options, ending on a Skill Drain and pop one with 2 seconds left. Gravekeeper's stun deck: I play Necrovalley, summon a 3k Gravekeeper's beatstick, and a luck-optional set a negate or play Hidden Temples. Pass with 15 seconds remaining.
I was able to speed through this event with my Swordsoul deck. First deck: Lair of Darkness. Second: Magistus. Third: Floowandereeze. Aside from the last, I won by surrender. The last? He timed out. Pulling out Baronne de Fleur and at least one or two disruptions (Chixiao, Dragite, Draco-Berserker) and one face-down (Book of Moon, Blackout...) was enough.
This reminds me of an old hearthstone card called nozdormu. its a 9 mana 8/8 that makes the turn timer 15 seconds (basically it's dogshit and never sees play). There was a brief period of time where you could OTK with the card by looping 2 spells that could cast eachother over and over, not doing anything. BUT with nozdormu out, if you queued up 15 seconds worth of animations they had to sit through, they'd be forced to pass their turn to you, so you could take infinite turns. was fixed pretty fast, but a funny combo all the same. DDoS Priest was the name of the deck
I played a Choice Paralysis deck with an Adventurer engine rather than floodgates, because the basic Adventure line can be done comfortably within 30 seconds and it's good at dismantling the monkey flip decks, and the decks that go over the top of pure Adventure run out of time in battle phase after you flip Ordeal of a Traveler, it was quite funny.
I played True Draco in this event. Ran into a Lab player. You would not BELIEVE the amount of stress I was under. We went to 8 turns and I ended my turn at one second or less multiple times. He used every single Big Welcome
You know the funny part about this event? Dinomorphia is a treat in it. The sheer amount of people not being able to deal with it is glorious. It also showcases that the deck is insanely fast, the only thing that makes it slow in the TCG is having to explain to your opponent what the hell the cards do each time you activate one...
The event revealed how greedy I truly was. I lost to time so much. Me: "If I don't finish my plays, I could lose!" The Timer: "You literally lost now." I switched to my Spirit+Time Tearing Morganite deck which is just normal summon a couple times and pray.
I ended up playing Metaphyss for the event. Triple D.Fissure and Macro Cosmos combined with the fact that Metaphyss dontneed to do a lot peer turn once they set up shop led to many opponents quickly fleeing out of frusteration.
I played a Normal Pendulum deck for this event. As in, a deck full of NORMAL Pendulum monsters. Can't lose time to effect activation prompts if my cards don't have effects to begin with!
I used nurse burn for my three. First guy I played against was using utopia and lost halfway through his combo, second was using timelords and the feild spell that forces you to attack and gain 300 lp, and the final one is the only one I won off my own cards
Went 3-0 in this with traptrix of all things. Espacially suprising when it can actually take a long as time to resolve sera and other stuff while also trying to think which way to set up your backrow (well, I guess I AM making it seem more difficult than it should be). Pretty funny tho to win via direct attack with sera with zero time on the clockxD
I saw someone in live chat say cubic was best deck here and I was so happy because that was what I used to get three wins in a row due to just loving the deck
One time I went to like turn 35 against one of those "choice paralysis" decks, and for playing such an annoying deck, I decided to Yata lock them (was playing Spirit) to see if they'll scope. They didn't, hoping I'd time out, I guess, so I ended up finishing them off with Yata's 200-damage peck.
