Studio bones budget:

Not budget, the staff behind the show is extremely talented and passionate toward the show. Not to mention that Bones has some of the best time management of all the studios. This episode was being finished up in summer 2018.
@Direnta well not really, Mob Psycho, like any other show most probably has an ordianary budget. First of all, keep in mind the animator are payed barely anything in the first place, even veteran animators don't get payed as much as you think. Budget is usually increased if there is poor management or a small amount of staff, usually to hire more people. Here it's the opposite, for example this episode finished production in spring/summer 2018, which goes to show that Bones has some of the best management.
He means management in time
While other studios get just 1 week per episode.
Bones already had the entire season of mob psycho 100 2 on January, that way they didn’t have struggles with the footage or budget.
Also, some of the people working on it were veterans, freelancers, etc.
Xclav Budget plays a very minimal role in production quality.

Remember kids, budget is not the main part, but passion and dedication to animate it
Everyone needs to read this comment.
@Direnta Yes but it's not the main factor. The main factor is the time each animator gets to work on their cuts for the episode. This is not a situation where time=money
Direnta Tell that to Toei Animation and One Piece
Mob Psycho is seasonal anime not like other long running shounen shows whose animation consistency and direction can be elastic. Bones just happens to have the best animators around. So in the end it’s time and skill that go hand to hand. Budget plays a very minimal role in production quality.
@Direnta he never said it wasnt
Love how his last words weren't "I want to save her," but "I can't go out like this." He was about to die. This aspect of his ability is unlocked through his instinct for survival. That's what Reigan stopped from happening during the raid on Claw.
Reigan unintentionally saved the world for being a good friend.

I like how One designs his characters. Mob and Saitama both are OP as fuck, but looking at them they look weak and like an average person. The instant Mob hits 100% his entire appearance changes, he gets red eyes, his hair changes, and his facial features changes. For Saitama, his face gains some structure, his expression changes to a more serious one, and often his eyes are covered in shadows.

Imagine disliking an anime episode as fantastic as this because a few seconds of content weren't added or got changed and a cat didn't die
Some of the dislikes are also because of Crushyrolls' demands to close two sites to watch anime for free, so they are disliking all of their videos.

It cuts to the vast white space because he did in fact erase the entire parallel universe he was in, then he recreated it making it normal like our universe.

For the people who read the manga. I didn’t read the manga before (I usually watch then read) and I thought this was a great episode. The message got across. I went to look at this point in the manga afterwards and it’s just the same thing but more detailed with slightly more gore. That’s how anime adaptations work, they can’t adapt everything perfectly. They did a good job.
I think it's one of the best episodes yet, I just felt the manga delivered a better atmosphere of hopelessness and that It was a big challenge for Mob
SomeDudeBoi yeah I agree. Probably they were forced to cut some scenes (the cat scene for example) because they were considered too morbid for the audience (remember that Mob Psycho is also watched by 13 years old).
NT i think that 13 years of age would be old enough tho
I think it was more of a directorial failure than a pacing thing (although time constraints paid a large factor). I just end up leaving with the feeling of watching something childish and 1-dimensonal. 1st, we lose the whole feeling of Mob spending 6 months in that world. And secondly (more important), the whole atmosphere was terrible and uber overdramatic. I love ONE because he doesn't speak in platitudes; he's nuanced. Without it, this is just a bad and senseless bullying story. The animation is freaking cool, but it isn't Mob Psycho 100 (or at least, it does not reflect the core of the series).
guobadia53156 that’s what the manga is for silly goose 🤦🏿♂️ lol.
Different mediums deliver different aspects of what’s trying to be conveyed. It’s impossible(knowing the time constraints and amount of episodes their capable of making) to expect them to flesh out this arc the way a monthly manga can.
i love the characterization of ???% in this scene. starting as this terrifying flowing black entity and ending as this pure, almost angelic looking light. as the “thing” mob keeps locked in his heart i think the contrast is so poignant in representing both what he fears and who he truly is.

I think Manga fans are overreacting and acting pretty ungrateful. This episode, with all it's limitations, adapted the story beautifully and fully utilized the visual medium. That's coming from a manga reader. Bones didn't have to go this hard in the first place. The manga has its own strengths and the anime had different ones.
As a manga reader and as a mob psycho 100 lover, I'm kinda disappointed with Bones plot choices. MP100 is a manga that focus on Mob's feelings and on his development as a person through the battles. In this episode they focused on the battles and left all the pain, the suffering, the depth of Mogami's arc buried somewhere on their backyard. Mp100 is not only about well animated battles
@@1231237914 I agree that Mob isn't just about the battles. It's about the characters. And I personally got very emotional watching this episode. I didn't need a plethora of suffering imagery to fuel that. I felt emotions for the characters themselves and issues they were going through. Bones could not done anything else to make this episode better in 1 episode. That's just what happens when a series gets only 1 cour. I kind of like how the anime focused more on highlighting the triumph instead of wallowing in the suffering. The anime and the manga kind of became two different sides of the same coin.
I'm just saying other series would kill for an adaptation of this quality and I just think it's more important to recognize the hard work Bones put into the series and not just focus on what they didn't do.
The manga readers don't hate this episode they are just underwhelmed by the build up. It's like how you would feel if someone would cut out the parts of someone moving to hit someone in a fight scene. To someone who didn't see the full version its fine but to someone who saw the full version it lacks the satisfaction of the full motion. It's understandable that they have fit time constraints, but the fact that it would only add a few minutes is frustrating.
@@animewatcher102 I dunno, visual metaphors made up earlier scenes for me,warped camerawork conveyed sense of time passing,Mob being hit by a brick was more thrn dark and killing the cat won't be necessary, all messages were brought clear,I literally got the same feeling watching episode
@@ruslanhoncharenko2179 While the cinematography does contribute to the scene it doesn't completely make up for not having a windup for each moment. Like the teacher and Asagiri interrogating Mob before he gets hit and getting milk spilled on him. While I don't think the cat needed to be killed I think it's important that Mob's last straw was the cat getting attacked than him getting attacked. It also loses how Mogami is forcing the situation by making Asagiri stab because Mob wasn't completely giving in. I guess they were trying to make her more sympathetic. But that's at the cost of showing Mob having the strength to forgive someone who he already gave a chance to, compared to her already apologizing in the anime.

Yuzuru Tachikawa and co. did wonderfully on this episode. It felt like a DMT-induced fever dream characterized in an animated format. Manga fan here, and I loved the entire episode and anime as a whole without any solid gripes. Would I have loved to see some moments in the manga animated, like when Mob got chucked into a wall and landed on his feet against it, only for the wall to turn into a spirit's giant head about to bite down on him? Yeah, but I'm happy with what I got.
Frankly, if the anime copied every scene panel by panel and did it as amazingly as the entire scene overall was, then what point would there be left to read the manga? I can enjoy watching/reading both as mildly separate things entirely.
I HIGHLY doubt Mob fans are complaining about this adaptation. Have you seeen the damn manga? They add so much inbetween the panels with this anime, it's too good.

idk how to explain but EVERY TIME i rewatched MР100 2 i started to cry because of this scene. For another people/creations Shigeo is something dark and potentially dangerous but inside he is a person with whole universe of emotions and feelings
Its absolutely mindblowing to me that people STILL find a way to bitch about this tremendous episode. Before you complain about a scene left out in ANY anime adaptation ask yourself this, "Did the point get across?". I've read the manga, this is by far my favorite arc that ONE's ever written and I still thought that Bones did went far and beyond the best that they could do in two episodes for a dense arc. You people need to take a step back and understand that this is a 12 eps anime, they only have so much time to adapt everything. Understand the meaning behind the word "adaptation".

I am convinced, without reservation, that Mob Psycho is better than One Punch Man. Not hating OPM at all. @TsukuyomiREKTI am not a fan of lot of anime but I still watch them. There is a clear distinction between a fan and a person who just watches something.
For example person A may only watch star wars movies whereas person B may watch star wars movies but then go out of their way to find more about the lore of the world by playing games, reading novels and watching additional star wars materials.
In this case person A is just a ordinary watcher who may or may not like star wars, whereas person B is a 'fan' and definitely enjoys star wars as they go out of their way to explore more about the thing they love.
I am not a fan of Mob Psycho and there is nothing wrong with watching something and not be a fan of or have your own opinions about the series.

" like you are on a crusade to annihilate everyone who remotely have their own opinions on what they may/may not enjoy.
Prequels better than Sequels yea this ep of mob, jojo, and dororo was good
@TsukuyomiREKT "I couldn't care less if you don't like the show" coming from a guy who posted "If you're not a fan then why are you watching it?
".
Clearly you do give a fuck. Look at my original post, I never said I dont like or dislike Mob Psycho series but I did say I am not a 'fan' of Mob Psycho. That clearly makes sense unless you are too stupid to read what I replied to you. If you dont care about my opinion why are you even asking why I am watching this anime is the first place?
TsukuyomiREKT not being a fan doesn’t mean he doesn’t enjoy the show, it’s like you didn’t even read his post. Casual watchers just like a series, but don’t actively follow it.
It was right as that laser fired that I realized I was watching the most beautiful anime I have ever seen. We don't deserve anything this beautiful. Just the charge up, the crackling and sparking before impact, is just 1000% perfect.
Literally probably one of the most incredibly well-animated anime episodes I have ever seen.
mob:gUyS JUST BEcaUse i hAve pSYcHIC dOESN't make me sPECiaL or imPoRtANT
I like how you use the wOW ThiS iS SO WAcKy font for a complex characters thought process
Shaggy lended him a portion of his power
Just watched this felt like I was watching a movie absolutely beautiful
Who ever says he’s stronger then holy you right
Bro, I love this anime, I can replay it like 350 times, I always enjoy and got good vibes from it, truly a masterpiece
Well, all you manga readers hyped me up, and I must say, I'm not disappointed, that was an amazing fight scene, for an action-packed, emotional episode.
Bro this is so cool I’m actually getting shivers does this happen to anybody else?
Can we appreciate the music tho? It’s pretty badass
1:25 Studio bones turned into a graveyard after this one
Some people is treating this episode like Tokyo Ghoul, Bones gave us the main idea about the suffering of Mob, its enough for the people that haven't read the manga.
I love the use of a ‘Dream world’ so that mob can just go full on worldbreaker.
This was like mobs version of Saitama vs God
i love how 100% courage shigeo is just him adapting the typical shonen protag look, exaggerated hair with detailed eyes
This scene was amazing
Love the nausica influence in there at 1:18
I’m just gonna call “???%” sicko mode from now on
imagine your just chilling in your room and then your TV displays ???% with the same sound and you transform into it
This is movie quality right there
This is probably some of the best animation in any anime. Though there is so much happening it’s kind of hard to retain it or even fully appreciate it.
Wow just figured Mogami is voiced by Yakumo 😭😭 Instantly got the shivers when he said "I see"
nobody:
Bones Studios: Best animation of the year? *THAT SHIT IS MINE!*
