    After 10 months and over 400 hours in development, the first video on my Minecraft medieval fantasy project is finally ready. The map is inspired by open world RPG games like Skyrim and Fallout, but is also heavily influenced by Dungeons and Dragons.
    in this video I describe the creation of the map, the city of porthaven, the dwarf city created by BuildBank, and the various features found in the wilderness (dungeons, castles, ruins, ork camps).
    the main building styles I have used are gothic and European mediaeval / Tudor, many of the builds are inspired by my previous projects such as churches, cathedrals and castles.
    This map is being created for an RPG style event that will be hosted by lich sometime in the next year. currently I am doing the majority of the building, lore and coding behind the event myself, so any help is appreciated. if you'd like to apply to be a builder then please join my discord linked above or message me on any of my socials.
    map created using worldpainter
    time-lapse footage recorded using replay mod
    shaders used BSL

    Minecraft has trully become an artform of its own, a mix of pixelart and sculpting.
    Its trully amazing and jaw dropping what people can create.
    Wonderful work and fantastic lore of your world!

      @@Cult_of_MJlmaooo, I have a Google doc outlining the lore of all the different races I’m using and how it affects the build palette they use like how some stained glass is actually magical crystals that the dwarves have mined and are trading so that they can stay a neutral power in the world’s politics
      I’m way too invested in this

    It's an awesome project! I would like to have that creativity. Are you an architect in real life? How do I get construction ideas?

    • @Cult_of_MJ
      @Cult_of_MJ  4 месяца назад +2

      sadly im not an architect in real life, although i used to want to be, i get a lot of my ideas from fantasy artwork and models, usually i find a lot of stuff on pintrest that i use as inspiration, then i just let the ideas take me wherever i go. im glad you enjoyed the video

    Hey, I just stumbled across your video. Truly epic project. You're tackling projects that I've always dreamed of starting.
    I'm sure you keep yourself extremely busy with this project, but I wanted to ask, are you interested in playing on an SMP with other talented builders? It's a forever world that won't get reset (but will get updated with each new release). We'd love to have another builder with your level of creativity.

      thank you so much, it means a lot that youd make me this offer however ive joined building smps in the past and i tend to get distracted fast, between full time work and this project i have very little free time, thank you again though

      @@Cult_of_MJ I completely understand. That's why we chose to make it a forever world. All the members have full-time jobs/ lives outside of Minecraft. That way, we can step away for a while, then return when life allows us again. Picking right back up where we left off.
      Let me know if anything changes and you want to know. 😀

    Could you make a video on how to use your rpg style mob spawner datapack?, and how to make it compatible with higher versions

    • @Cult_of_MJ
      @Cult_of_MJ  4 месяца назад +1

      yes at some point i will make a tutorial on higher versions, for now i can briefly explain here:
      use this command to spawn an invisible armour stand where you want the mob to spawn:
      /summon minecraft:armor_stand ~ ~ ~ {Invisible:1b,Invulnerable:1b,NoGravity:1b,Marker:1b}
      next we need to label it with the type of mob that will spawn:
      /tag @e[distance=..3,type=minecraft:armor_stand] add
      format for is no , all lowercase, no spaces no _
      now that stand will spawn that type of mob on that spot once when a player gets within 50 blocks and it wont spawn again for 5 minutes (if the original is dead)
      as for porting to later versions within the pack.mcmeta file there should be a version number you can change, it’s currently 6 i think and the minecraft wiki will have the number for later versions
      hope this helps :)

      @@Cult_of_MJ Thank you! I have a small problem, the generator continues to generate mobs every time the cooldown ends despite the mob being alive

    • @esteguarito2859
      @esteguarito2859 4 месяца назад

      Can I put a limit on the number of mobs in each spawner that I place?

    • @Cult_of_MJ
      @Cult_of_MJ  4 месяца назад

      @@esteguarito2859 unfortunately there is no way to detect that a spawn has happened, so the spawner begins the countdown when it detects a mob besides it (assuming it to have just been spawned) and once it leaves a small radius from the spawner its undetected
      it would be possible to try using scoreboards to keep track of if the mob is dead or alive, however the easiest way ive found to prevent this is to increase the cooldown time so that its more likely the original mob will have been killed or despawned before the next spawns.
      to do this open the tic function, near the top there will be two short lines of code ending in 300 (or you can use ctrl + f) for find and replace as theyre the only time 300 is ever used)
      that number is the number of seconds in the cooldown, id recommend doubling it to 600 or making it 900 (15 minutes).
      alternatively if you want the spawner to spawn once and never again, remove the line of code ending in 300 that resets the cooldown scoreboard to 0, this way the spawner will only be reset by reloading the game, and will only spawn one mob at a time.
      the lines of code look like this:
      execute as @e[scores={cooldown=300..}] run scoreboard players set @s spawns 0 execute as @e[scores={cooldown=300..}] run scoreboard players set @s cooldown 0
      edit the 300 values to change the cooldown period, or remove them both to only ever spawn one mob
      i hope this was helpful :)
