    By the way on some mother boards that older if you up date the BIOS you can not go back to 2600x or AMD 3000's ...once you up grade to AMD's 5000'so

    got an ASrock b550 Pro4 with v2.8 bios. worked out the box. also i noticed the 5600x runs way hotter(20 degrees) than my old 1600.

    Use a Thermal Grizzly Kryosheet (Graphene) Thermal Pad instead of paste (which is messy & degrades over time/use). That's my preference anyway, & what I used on my 2024 Ryzen 9 7900 build.

      Only if you're going to be tinkering with pcs a lot. They have worse overall thermal conductivity since it isn't viscous enough to fill in the micro chasms that cpus have.

      @@malvinchau2056 My 7900 idles in the mid-high 30's C & tops out at 71-72 C under high loads with the Thermal Grizzly Kryosheet, which works well enough for me.

    Btw if this does happen to you and you don't have bios flashback, you can borrow a cpu from AMD to update the bios. You will have to return it later though (obviously).

    stock cooler for 5600X is probably not a good combination if you prefer overclocking . I would consider an aftermarket air cooler .

    • @malvinchau2056

      AMD cpu's have terrible overclocking (compared to intel) they don't have as high ocing capability so it doesn't really matter. Of course an aftermarket cooler is always good but most people won't be overclocking anyways.

    Here the actual tip:
    - Replace the stock cooler with $20 air cooler, you will get the temp from 75 -> 65 degree instantly
    - Activate PBO undervolt at 25-30, this will lower 2-3 degree
    - Purchase 4 stick ram 3200MHz this will increase performance 5-10%

      2 sticks is better for dual channel. 4 slots doesnt mean the board supports quad channel

      @@ChickenNuggetMN Quad rank presents better latency as the two other memory sticks are ready to give or receive data sooner in the case of DDR4.

    • @ChickenNuggetMN
      @ChickenNuggetMN 4 месяца назад

      @MarcABrown-tt1fp you mean quad channel* and thats not how it works. Your pc is actively using all 4 in dual channel mode. You can only use quad channel of your mobo supports it, which isnt the case for most motherboards high end or not. It doesn't work at all the way you're describing it.

    • @MarcABrown-tt1fp
      @MarcABrown-tt1fp 4 месяца назад

      @@ChickenNuggetMN I meant Quad Rank***** The Memory controller has to cycle between the other two sticks precisely because it only has two channels... What do you think it does huh? Send data to both at the same time? That wouldn't work.
      The CPU sends and receives data exactly when the other two sticks are ready to do so, and the memory controller on zen 2 or 3 is fast enough to cycle between two sticks at a time to to give or take from either which results in situations where 4 sticks are faster than 2 if only by 5-10%.

    • @ChickenNuggetMN
      @ChickenNuggetMN 4 месяца назад

      @MarcABrown-tt1fp Your ranks are contained in a channel.
      If you have a dual channel platform and you stick 2 dual rank dimms in you have 4 ranks on that channel. Adding 2 more dual rank dimms to the other channel just makes that channel also have 4 ranks.
      You won't really get an increase in bandwidth from this, just capacity.
      If you did that on a quad channel platform you would have more bandwidth.
      In both cases the more ranks you have the harder it is to run.
      I don't think consumer board even run quad rank dimms, usually server kit.

      It would occasionally do that before I replaced the CPU. It calms down after a few min eventually. Ever since I replaced it, it’s quiet even when I’m gaming 👌🏽
