I am an Argonian who, thanks to the Dragonborn DLC for Skyrim, has allied with house Redoran after helping reopen the mine at Ravenrock, dealing with the Ash Spawn threat to the settlement, freeing them from Miraak's control via using "Bend Will" on the All-Maker stone, wiping out the Morag Tong sect that was planning on killing the counselor, and taking care of the stash the captain needed help finding. Also thanks to the DLC I was made an honorary member of house Telvani by Neloth after helping him deal with his treacherous undead former assistant, and helping with his studies. While I may have a few friends from Hlaulu on the mainland of Skyrim from the Vanilla game, I have zero ties to house Dres though, thanks to TES Legends I do have a few Archein tribe members on my side via the deck, along with Shadowscales and An-Xileel (the faction of Argonians who took over southern Morrowind by the events of Skyrim most likely in retaliation for the centuries of enslavement).

I guess a secondary reason I joined the Stormcloaks was to spend time with Nord women that I'd also willingly serve. That said our leader did make me an officer so I do outrank most of them despite being a Saurian rather than Human. More proof the faction isn't racist, they just don't trust outsiders and hate the Empire and the Thalmor. I would try to help improve lives in the Grey Quarter while Ulfric focuses on the war, and once both the Thalmor and Empire are destroyed I could finally retire and serve a Nord or Dunmer woman.
