I've found the biggest way to stay positive in Silver Lions income, is to know when/how to quit matches so you don't lose your plane. I know, I know, that sounds pathetic, like the old "Arty blows himself up" in WoT, but I am serious here. Let's take my F-100D for an example. It has a repair cost of about 12K silver Lions. That's about the same amount I make in that aircraft when I solo blow up an enemy base (with premium time). If I finish an entire bombing circuit (because the F-100D does not have the option of bombs and sidewinders), and I'm the only player left on my team, I will J out on the Runway and let the "no hostile players" countdown burn my team's tickets. If not, I'll probably load up on more bombs and hit another base, or change to Sidewinders, and try to help my team clean up. By not dying, I have guaranteed that I won't lose money or have to wait for the plane to get fixed.
To be frank, you are already impeding your team by using the F 100 as a bomber; when it is listed as a fighter in game, and a pretty capable one at that. You not only deprive your team of a fighter right at the get go by carrying bombs, but also an active player by running back to base to reload and basically doing nothing for that entire duration. A outnumbered side will lose the match 90 % of the time. If bombing is what you want to do, then may I suggest a F 105 ? Your team isn't affected as much, plus you get a bigger bombload.
@@rigormortis6481 F-105 carries a bigger repair cost at half the silver lions income. Let's be real though, the in-game designation of fighter, bomber, etc doesn't really matter. What does matter is how well can I actually do. I fly my A-5C mostly in the fighter role, as it carries the exceptional Magic 1 missile, and I know most A-10 players do similar. I learned how to bomb truck in the F-100 in order to grind out the Aim-9E, but found it so reliable, I just stuck with it, until I unlocked the F-4C.
@@Skyfighter64 Carrying bombs while stock grinding is umm, well understandable( You could still use the guns/cannons), But Ok. But you bomb bases mostly still ? I mean you are a handicap to your team in that state, and losing matches, even with the increased rewards means you earn even less. Not to mention that you might end up being the factor that made your team lose. My point being that if you want to play an attacker/bomber , then do that role in a plane where the team composition, i.e number of fighters and attackers does not get skewed up. (It used to be a maximum of 4 attackers on each team earlier. Now it might not be, not too sure on that; but you get my point) Also Even the Warbond shop props will net you a way better return on rewards for the time/ effort invested. Jet battles do finish much faster, but one thing to remember here is that the longer the game lasts, and depending upon your contribution; the better the results are, like way better. I mean you say you have the A 5, then why are you grinding credits in the F 100 ? Better grind Sl in the A 5 and play the f 100 as a fighter ?
The problem with WarThunder isnt premium time needed, but that you can have both premium vehicles and premium time, but still need to do "silver tricks" in order to gain enough. Which is BS because you dont play a video game as if it was a second job. The enjoyment in this game isnt "earning money". If it was, then there are other better financial focused games out there. Secondly, lets not forget that they added the silver grind to what it is now in order to both sell premium vehicles AND regular vehicles because there are players that will only go up and down on a general sum of silver because they are not doing "silver tricks" or "good enough" (EDIT: They will still unlock vehicles, but never have enough to actually buy them) in a given tier to earn past the rep cost of what they enjoy playing.
I feel like I always have SL issues, and I think it's because I grind so many different nations, so I'm constantly unlocking new high tier expensive vehicles
You should have less SL issues with multiple nations, as you can play other nations while your crew repairs your broken vehicles. I tried to main USA, but then wound up having to make low tier line ups for most of other countries to get SL while my USA vehicles took 2 or 3 days to repair. Now I am in a situation where Britain, Germany and Russia have all caught up to my supposedly main country anyway.
Something I found out is for the victory wager take a line of all bombers in air AB, then climb to 5000-6000m. no fighters will climb to you and you can bomb your way to victory.
With the battle victory wager you can go max stake and then go into heli mode and leave once it loades in and you can easily get max stage but you have to wait 2 hours for the battle to actually end, Ive used this and it actually works
one thing you didn't mention is when you do stuff in battle go back and land it give a boost to RP and SL when you take off again about +50% or something (don't quote me on that figure) And I also enjoy the long grind for new vehicles, it makes it more satisfying when you finally get it, grinding for upgrades on those things can range from an inconvenience to being as much fun as brushing your teeth with sandpaper
sadly when you say to get better at war tunder i remeber how hard is for me because my laptop is not very good and i play on low set and i get 20 fps so its hard for me to see a anemy so yea
Little note about premium time and vehicles. During that shit crafting events you can sell all stuff that you've got on market and get some GJN and it can be used to buy everything on market and store (packs, vehicles, eagles and premium time). Also you can sell event vehicles from summer and winter operations for pretty good prize (for example tis ma is now around 117 GJN worth!) I ain't selling vehicles but because of crafting events it's already second year I have basically free premium account and I've bought about 2-3 premium planes (pm1, 39N0 and mustang mk1a). It's great way of doing that and it only cost some time during events (that at least some of players are doing anyway).
Best planes to grind SL are: f5c and A-5c. F5c has one of the best turning rate and can turn with pretty much any plane at it's br if played decent, the cannons are amazing, in 3k hours of planes the cannons on the f5c are my favorite, the only downside is the rockets which kinda suck and you need to know how to shoot them in order for you to hit them (which is not hard but you need to be careful). A-5c turns good too but not as good as the f5c, a5c has a litte bit better acceleration and 20g rockets but way worse cannons with way less bullets
Grinding out with the reserve planes is a pretty good idea to because you don't have to pay nothing to repair them and I can make ten Grand a mission on reserve
If you play this game then most people know about the Battle pass and if you do the special missions you can easily makea free premium plane or tank for yourself. Usually its if you get 10 or 15 special task medals you can get a free premium of your choice from the bunch they have up in the battlepass shop. So thats another way to get your self a way to get a great premium to grind them SL credits
By the time I unlocked Tier 3 I didn't even have enough SL to train a crew let alone order the aircraft. I still haven't been able to order a single tier 3 over two weeks later. Even after turning off auto repair/rearm.
I've found a really good tank route is to massively upteir, If you can kill a high ranking tank with a reserve or teir one tank, you get 20,000 lions, and the teir one tanks can punch through the armor of most scout and light armored vehicles no matter the teir, so all you need to do is fill a load out with low teir tanks and one of whatever your max rank is, and derp around until you catch some BMP or an AMX-30, pop a round in them. And if you die, costs nothing or next to nothing. I'd assume this works with aircraft but I'd imagine getting a lucky shot is harder if you're facing off against jets in a biplane.
In ground it is easier depending on the map and your skill, because in top tier you’ll usually meet sniping tanks with thermals, so its quite annoying at range. But if its a close range map where there are plenty of places for ambushing, it might be possible to get around 3-5 kills with a smaller tank like the asu-57 or panzer 4F2/G
Nice video , just one advice to new players DO NOT BUY A PREMIUM TOP TIER until you get some experience , ive seen players using jets like props and get killed after 1 minute, ask for advice and watch reviews since not all premiums are efficient .
I second to that. I used to fancy with the idea of getting my harrier one day, and I did when it was on 30% discount. Worst plane ever, high repair cost, BR10, slow AF and you can't outrun or catch players, it's ever so tempting SRAAMs are shit, unless you luck out and get close enough, or else you get killed from at least twice as far, and the list can go on. I'm only using it casually to complete some daily, or most often for the daily assault air arcade and it's not enough even for that because of the low ammo count (260).
big tip for battle victory wagers: stockpile them untill theres a very popular event/premium vehicle that you know will flock in a ton of new players with their mommy's creddit card, than play games on the nation that usually opposes the nation that got the new vehicle. for example: when the A-10 released.
I am an sl hoarder and to be honest I just like to sit around mid to low teir, until I get confident enough to play higher risk vehicles with higher rewards and repair costs
I was finding myself playing to grind and not really having too much fun, I have since decided the game above BR3.7 is dead to me. Now I have plenty of fun, and theres still a ton of vehicles to play, and I dont have constant silver lion shortages even if I have 3 or 4 terrible games in a row. I am now "working" on spading vehicles below 3.7 that I missed for whatever reason, and have found I really love playing low tier vehicles that lob 5kg plus of HE at people that previously I had ignored because they were not flat shooting. I also love the Yak 1 so much I no longer play 3.7 USSR.
Use wagers, before I was stuck on around 1.1m SL which yes is a lot but i wasn't gaining much and my aircraft were becoming more and more expensive but as soon as i started doing wagers I've blown up to 2.5mil
also, for a premium account and premium planes you dont need to spend money, you can sell things on the gaijin store and get silver lions from there, and with events veichels that go from 30 to 150 dolars you can get up to one year of premium by selling it
personally I to make a lot of money (I have never run out of money to buy a new plane / tank), and I succeed because I have always played with means that I really know how to use and that actually provide me with a lot of money, doing so I do not focus on research and I have a lot of fun. If you want to search for vehicles while making a lot of money buy a premium of a category or br that you play often
i am allways low on money in WT - i play since 2013 and still have big holes in my techtree because of having kids and a fulltime job. the grind for money gets more and more frustrating for me, but its a part of the game
Don't buy premium time even of you can. If you do you support microtransactions wich is honestly a lot worse than the cost you pay in money. I understand why microtransactions in f2p games exist but the thing is that they are donations and should not be used to get progress as it makes the developwrs have a motive structure that makes them want to make the game frustrating to play so people buy microtransactions.
I play arcade and I get bugged by 20 people on my tail the first 2 mins. I try realistic and the same. I can't get alone time with the ground units, it's so annoying. I've heard of this method before but it never seems to work out for me. Going back to grinding the good old fashioned way by clubbing with OP air premiums.
@@TheByQQ I go about it strategically, I flank wide and wait to pass the row at high speed. Still have a low success rate with it. I have much more success killing players than AI ground units.
dont have the SL, but i started a new account using USSR and after 3 days it has 100k because of me being active and achieving all awards for getting medals in the games.
The game stopped being fun to me after I got stuck in tier 5 tanks, although I've researched almost half of the next tiers I still had my SL low and it just seemed like the grind wasn't healthy to me anymore, I left the game a couple of years and then returned and faced the same issue, until I created another account and had things go pretty well, I've reached tier 3 in air and ground in less than a month and I feel like I'm back to the first time I downloaded it.
The game stopped being fun for me around BR 6, and I found myself playing just to grind, then I decided new rule, the game after BR 3.7 does not exist, except for Japan, where it is 4.7. Now I have no more silver lion issues, and I find it a lot more fun.
@@legallyfree2955 Yeah I think after BR 7 or 6 the game stops being F2P friendly, the free game is WW2 era vehicles and the paid experience starts with post WW2 and cold war era vehicles.
@@fallward917 It depends how much you play of course too. For me I play enough to log in, break all my vehicles for a couple of countries, log out and wait till the next day for them all the repair. If I was playing 6 hours a day of course I could probably play higher tiers.
im stuck at the part of the game where i thought i was cool buying the premium a-10 now im stuck at a high battle rating with a plane that cant even hit a 5th of the speed that any of the other planes can
To be fair, it's MUCH easier spending a few days worth of work time on a videogame instead of spending the same time on the game itself just to achieve the same result, because you have to go to / do your work regardless, but playing/progressing the game is optional. Much simpler and easier.
The Thunderer one is a bad recommendation considering that it's a crap shoot if the map you get has enough ground targets to attempt, and no one else on your team isn't attacking them also. Not to mention you end up too busy dodging enemy planes when you get uptiered.
Nah, it's not bad, just needs the expectations tempered a bit imo. One only has to put up 10K. Six tries. Even if one gets Thunderer (or Anti-Mech) only once in six tries, will still come out ahead and not lose. However many additional stages are completed before those six fail-attempts are used up are still pure profit. So it does make SL, unless one has truly horrific luck, chooses aircraft very poorly, or just isn't good at using the plane for GTs, to the point where it's just six straight fails. I do think that it's a somewhat unrealistic expectation, however, for many - perhaps most - players (including me) to bank on completing all 10 stages. I've managed a few stages before, but have never come remotely close to 10. But hey, it was still a pretty good chunk of SL regardless. 🙂
I'm grinding on Japanese 3.7 to 5.0, just to spend it in Japanese 9.7 and above.. I just simply don't know how to evade an AA missile without even knowing it's coming from behind..
Honestly I'm pretty sure that 80% of my SL comes from bullying people in my Pyörremyrsky I got way way back. I've become a real menace with that thing haha
My problem is that you earn the most SL in air RB battles with prem planes. Since I'm mostly a ground RB player I don't own that much SL because I'm really really bad in air RB. I own some supposedly good prem planes but that doesn't help.^^ Like the german IL-2 1942, german P47D, FW 190 D13, Ju288C, american Bf109F4 or russian P47D27, Su11.^^

Now it might not be, not too sure on that; but you get my point)
Also Even the Warbond shop props will net you a way better return on rewards for the time/ effort invested.
Same I’m grinding us planes German planes, tanks British planes and ussr tanks, plane
I think the problem with arcade is the amount of competition about getting this wager done
Something I found out is for the victory wager take a line of all bombers in air AB, then climb to 5000-6000m. no fighters will climb to you and you can bomb your way to victory.
Awesome guide, and probably on the most important thing there is. Thanks)
this was really helpful jetnoob. i dont know what iv'e would of done without these tips. great job😃
With the battle victory wager you can go max stake and then go into heli mode and leave once it loades in and you can easily get max stage but you have to wait 2 hours for the battle to actually end, Ive used this and it actually works
one thing you didn't mention is when you do stuff in battle go back and land it give a boost to RP and SL when you take off again about +50% or something (don't quote me on that figure)
And I also enjoy the long grind for new vehicles, it makes it more satisfying when you finally get it, grinding for upgrades on those things can range from an inconvenience to being as much fun as brushing your teeth with sandpaper
best grinding guide rn
sadly when you say to get better at war tunder i remeber how hard is for me because my laptop is not very good and i play on low set and i get 20 fps so its hard for me to see a anemy so yea
Pretty sure when I downloaded warthunder jets weren't in the game jet. When did the Me 262 come out?
If you play this game then most people know about the Battle pass and if you do the special missions you can easily makea free premium plane or tank for yourself. Usually its if you get 10 or 15 special task medals you can get a free premium of your choice from the bunch they have up in the battlepass shop. So thats another way to get your self a way to get a great premium to grind them SL credits
7:49 not for SL but the amount of convertable research points i have would be enough to research every plane in germany that i have left
4:39 Sweats in B-29.
I have no problem grinding 7k-25k rp per match but God damn I can't grind SL for the life of me
i forgot i had wagers, i have a couple of golden eagle and silver line wagers, and i never knew how to use it rlly, thx.
By the time I unlocked Tier 3 I didn't even have enough SL to train a crew let alone order the aircraft. I still haven't been able to order a single tier 3 over two weeks later. Even after turning off auto repair/rearm.
I've found a really good tank route is to massively upteir,
If you can kill a high ranking tank with a reserve or teir one tank, you get 20,000 lions, and the teir one tanks can punch through the armor of most scout and light armored vehicles no matter the teir, so all you need to do is fill a load out with low teir tanks and one of whatever your max rank is, and derp around until you catch some BMP or an AMX-30, pop a round in them.
@@vampiric_764 I just like popping high rank tanks with the KV-2 and its Derp gun, it makes me happy to think of the other player's reaction
This is very useful have a like
Can u do another on which jets have extreme and very low repairs because that would give rp at a low sl cost
Thank you soo much dude, this has been a big help!
Thanks. I play naval premiums for SL. Huge amounts of SL most of the time
big tip for battle victory wagers: stockpile them untill theres a very popular event/premium vehicle that you know will flock in a ton of new players with their mommy's creddit card, than play games on the nation that usually opposes the nation that got the new vehicle. for example: when the A-10 released.
Btw a Japanese bomber, the G5N1, has a base 380% SL modifier.
Use wagers, before I was stuck on around 1.1m SL which yes is a lot but i wasn't gaining much and my aircraft were becoming more and more expensive but as soon as i started doing wagers I've blown up to 2.5mil
also, for a premium account and premium planes you dont need to spend money, you can sell things on the gaijin store and get silver lions from there, and with events veichels that go from 30 to 150 dolars you can get up to one year of premium by selling it
Unfortunately we can't on console we don't have market 😒
Yours look so clear and good could you do a visual setting for some of us please
Questions about wagers.
1. Does it cost SL to activate it?
2. Is there any consequences if I, for example, fail all the stages of the wager?
Great video man
Ty
personally I to make a lot of money (I have never run out of money to buy a new plane / tank), and I succeed because I have always played with means that I really know how to use and that actually provide me with a lot of money, doing so I do not focus on research and I have a lot of fun. If you want to search for vehicles while making a lot of money buy a premium of a category or br that you play often
Now watch Gaijin nerf the wager either in SL or by removing the AI kill medals
i am a free to play player and i took 4 months just to get to tier 3
i am allways low on money in WT - i play since 2013 and still have big holes in my techtree because of having kids and a fulltime job.
the grind for money gets more and more frustrating for me, but its a part of the game
If you can get good at it. Naval is the best game mode by far to grind SL without needing premium vehicles or time.
Thx i have goten around 500k in like 4 h thx bro
thanks a lot for the tips! I have the B24 just sitting around unpurchased
Just don't dive straight for the ground targets with a swarm of enemy planes right above it
@@TheByQQ I go about it strategically, I flank wide and wait to pass the row at high speed.
Had enough of running outta sl so I did the dirty and bought the ju 288C , absolute cancer but damn the sl gain is insane

My favorite wager is 10 kill wager. I'm not sure what the condition is but sometimes, it doesn't necessarily requires 10 kill.

If you're gonna get premium account, you can get it for half price a couple of times a year
So if you receive the thunderer award every match it will go all the way up? It doesn't have to be a different medal for each stage?
To be fair, it's MUCH easier spending a few days worth of work time on a videogame instead of spending the same time on the game itself just to achieve the same result, because you have to go to / do your work regardless, but playing/progressing the game is optional. Much simpler and easier.
0:14 Answer to the question: No, I have never had SL problems in the game.
@@cragnamorra I ended up doing it in PvE heli battles with Victory Wagers.
wait the thunderer is guaranteed if 18 ground kill and does not require to be like the most ground kill right?
My Thunderer wager doesn't work, I had Antimech in a Air AB round and didn't level up a stage.
the Thunderer wager never works for me. I get Thunderer or Antimech but it never counts
When you say to use a specific plane to grind, do you mean that you only use that plane and when you die with it you leave the match?
Good advice, any advice if you are rubbish at air rb? lol
How long did it take you to get your first jet? I've been playing for 300 hours and I'm not even close to getting one.
