When i was 15 pink floyd came out with wish you ehere here. Our english teacher asked us to translate the entire album. I had to work on shine on ypu crazy diamond. Many many Thanks to that tescher for all my life!!!!
They are not just a Rock band, they write (wrote) some of the greatest Poetry-literature in the history of the world . Existential, surreal and sometimes so tender and touching, they speak to, and, from the Soul.

I don't know what their relationship was like because I'm not English and so , by the way ,not nearly to them and I'm also younger than that generation, but in "Wish you're here" there seems had a friendship between them. Sometimes a friendship is not enough to save someone from destruction. My favorite PF is Roger Waters. I was on His great show "us + them" in 2018.

Such an enormously underappreciated album. It is routinely dismissed as lesser by critics for no other reason than that being the prevailing "wisdom". "If" is an unapologetically beautiful song.

I imposed on a best friend recently, and didn't listen to the fact that he needed me to respect his space, and give him some space. It's what I've done for the past week now or so and had a long, hard introspection of myself in the process and been working on taking care of myself, being kinder to myself, quitting booze, and working toward being a better human being. I know we'll come back together, and I've been able to forgive myself after what I did to him, but now I just really really miss him. I thought of this song and learned it.

fun story: i worked at an old people's house for some time, and there was an old lady, i reckon 95 years old, she had one of those bikes for old people and she was always joking around shes a bike racer and was full of life despite her age.

Reading a few comments, I see people trying to find the right "quality" of beautiful this song feels like; I would suggest "hauntingly beautiful", which Pink Floyd is so good at giving us.
Pink Floyd often gets compared with Led Zeppelin, The Who, even Janis Joplin. But for me the band is on a completely different level. Their music is like a journey. I personally listen to a lot of R&B and reggae, but Pink Floyd is just amazing! I can't say that for other rock bands, I get bored very quickly. But this is my oppinio n.
This album reminds me of my childhood. The guitar parts are so melodious and mellow that the nostalgia hits me hard. Too bad I can't go back or even see cause I had no camera back then.
