The idea that Washington and Oregon might place a higher value on staying in the Pac-12 (than leaving for the Big Ten) because it's easier to get to the playoff is a myth. In the near future, to remain competitive for national championships will require recruiting and paying for top athletes (NIL), retaining top coaching staffs and plenty of exposure on linear TV. They absolutely know this is coming, and none of these things will be possible in a crippled Pac-12. Should the Big Ten make an offer, they'll leave on the spot.

BIG will not offer. ACC will. Money will be AS GOOD OR BETTER in the ACC.
Oregon Washington, Stanford, Baylor, Oklahoma St and 1 more will be in the ACC in 2 years announcement to follow this Fall.
Surely you know the PAC better than I do. Who is the most Valuable of these 3?
Arizona St, Utah or Colorado. Whoever it is will probably be the 6th Team.
Travel will NOT be an issue due to ACC scheduling format.
Eastern schools will only Travel WEST 1 time per year.
Western schools will only Travel EAST 2 times per year.
PAC schools will play each other every year and rotate through the Eastern Schools twice every 4 years and get to play Notre Dame some (not sure how often).

@@brucemercer7753 The ACC will not be able to offer the money that the Big Ten and the SEC will ($75 to $100 million per year). It's true that UW and UO are a cultural fit in the ACC, but the lack of competitive money and the three time zone difference are just too much to overcome. The possibility of Washington and Oregon joining the ACC is extremely unlikely. Today's ACC is like today's Pac-12: living on borrowed time.

@@valuedcustomer9614 You don;t have accurate information on the ACC Money situation. They are getting $20 Million MORE RIGHT NOW than what you are seeing reported.
They are at $66 Million in EARNINGS but spending a HUGE CHUNK of it to Fast-Track the Build of the ACC Network, but that is PIAD OFF like a Car Payment from a New Car after THIS YEAR.
And That $20 Million goes from EXPENSE to REVENUE INSTANTLY.
Plus the Expansion will add another $20 Million. This is all part of a PLAN set in motion when the last TV Deal was signed and the ACCN was created.
The MONEY is THERE and it is about to be MORE MONEY than the BIG# makes.
Even IF there was No additional money the $66 Millin is STILL THERE and that is THREE TIMES what the PAC is going to get and more than the BIG# is going to offer.
And the SEC is NOT going to make an offer.
Then you talk about Travel, but you don't understand the REALITY of the Travel.
ACC dropped Divisions to gets "Travel Friendly" for their Expansion Targets.
This is a PLAN from 7 or 8 years ago. Everything has been worked out to make this work.
Eastern teams will only Travel WEST 1 time per season.
Western teams will only travel EAST TWO times per season.
As long as the former PCA school schedule OTHER former PAC school and MWC and WAC schools etc in the OOC they will play 10 of their 12 games OUT WEST.

One has to assume that there has not been a media proposal that meets the conference's approval. I suppose that there is a possibility that there may not ever be an acceptable offer. Then what?

With Disney and ESPN imploding in epic fashion, all those other deals everyone is bragging about may go awry. Not panicked at all. Highly suspect that this time next year, everything will be different.
    FACTS:
Disney, the ESPN parent: Movie studios...failing. Parks: failing. Disney/ESPN streaming... 11+ billion in losses. Nothing in the pipeline is forecast to bring in positive cash flow. Disney went from 13+ billion in movie studio revenue in 2019 to below 4 billion now (> 75% decline). Its still declining.
ESPN signed those fat contracts... that depend on online subcribers of cable/sattelite viewers for revenue. ESPN had 100 million+ subscribers when they signed those contracts. It already dropped below 70 million (30% decline). Its now forecast to be 50 million or less in 1 to 2 years (50% + decline). Its why they refused any PAC12 deal.
By next year, the PAC10/12 may, and likely will be, sitting pretty while the floor falls out for ESPN and all those conferences/teams whose revenue source is headed to bankruptcy.

While we're speculating, I'd remind everybody of all the rumors of Apple buying PAC12 content. It's also possible Apple will be the biggest purchaser of Disney/ESPN's liquidated products. If both happen, only the top games will be on TV and all the rest will be on streaming, regardless of the conference.
Edit: It should be noted, the B1G is safe from Disney doom.

@craigkirsch6750 False. Not true. Do your research. Their profits are based on subscribers. Revenue is steeply declining. They didn't just start massive layoffs because they are cash rich. More is coming. Plus, Disney has no choice but to take the cash they are making. They are required by law to pay their bills. Good luck with that theory.

Did the MWAC reply to SDSU's letter of intent to exit prior to SDSU rescinding its decision to leave? If the answer to that is No, MWAC probably has no genuine case to keep away SDSU from the conference while demanding exit money.
Can MWAC also honestly state that it has quickly adjusted its game schedule to account for SDSU's exit prior to the latter rescinding its intention or decision to exit? If the answer to that is no, can the conference honestly prove that its current position on SDSU is not born out of antagonism? I doubt it.
There's always a window for an entity to change its mind, as long as the other party has not made a decision for or to the contrary. Therefore, in my opinion, MWAC has no case against SDSU because its "kicking" out SDSU may not be ruled interpretational. The latter can actually establish a case against the former.

Quick question! Did AZ change its DC? I just saw that in every loss they had last year (2022) that D gave up a minimum of 31 points (39 vs Miss St. , 49 v Cal, OR and WA, 45 v USC and Utah, 31 to WA St.) now that is bad defense. Getting 4 and 5 star defensive players is great but if the DC is the same so will be the results. Oh before I forget, I wonder what coach Jedd Fisch told the kid with regard to which conference AZ will be playing in starting in 2024? What do I mean by that? See his recent interview on his thoughts on realignment and where AZ will be once it shakes out.😁

Tulane the other 3 are long shots at best. Memphis, UNLV, Bosie. The pac will invite San Diego state and SMU some time. But if the lose Colorado they will ad Colorado state if they lose Arizona they would add Tulane. 2 will be added to replace USC and UCLA. 3 or 4 if Colorado and or Arizona leave.
