The group of people that pretended to fight against corruption, only to flip the script once they were offered deals by corrupt officials. Ema Best is a part of this group. Elizabeth Shaw. Anisha Kothari. The "well, I'll betray all of humankind if it means I get financing and assistance getting ahead" group.
The point of this is to normalize the people that corrupt in the eyes of the public.

As for key escrow and government backdoors in encryption the debate is over. Such things can and will get into the hands of everyone including the badguys. Look at the TSA keys you can 3d print a set right now or even buy them from any good 3 d print shop. The risk is not worth the limited benefit.

I thought the biggest threat on line and with technological warfare would be media and misinformation. Also suggestion. Not having my pacemaker jacked or my fridge taking a photo of my kitchen so someone can advertise milk to me. I think letting the crazy people post what they like is a good idea. Like the outlaw motorcycle gangs. They have a sign on their back. Saying hay I’m probably a bad guy. You know what your getting into by dealing with them.
The biggest threat is misinformation.

We're a semi- free society , and free speach , etc is fundimental ( of course short of actual conspiracies to commit specific crimes ) .
And such idiots are simply large scale outing themselves in a very public manner . We should be grateful the handful of idiots are doing so in public eye , instead of old school meeting face to face.
And IF we were to consider the magnitude of threats , things like marxists , anarchists , islamic fundimentalists , etc are bigger threats by order of magnitude .
