One of the lushest orchestral disco songs, ever. This was back when MELODY was king and we just swooned to the music as we danced to it. The strings in these songs were so gorgeous, you could fall in love, figuratively speaking, with someone in the span of one song.
This was the debute selection to the album Brazil by the Ritchie Family! Loved it completely. A friend from Washington D.C. introduced this album to me in 1975. I drove from Birmingham, AL to Washington D. C. playing this one side of the album, ONLY ( it was recorded on tape - remember that one ? )! Complete perfection, Strong Beat, Rhythms, Sexy vocals, and the smooth mixing from one selection to the next song. At that time, that sort of thing was " Off The Hook " Phenomenal! The album's rhythm, big orchestra sounds, mixed with suave female vocals were a pure mix resulting in Perfection!
I first heard this at a trendy disco near O'Hare Airport, Chicago and was blown away. Along with The Salsoul Orchestra, these arrangements are incredible and very "easy" to listen to. This was when music was music and we could dance until six in the morning and really enjoy the sounds. 1977 to maybe 1985 or so.
Vincent Montana, Jr. was a genius and we suffer the loss when he passed away. I am so blessed to have had an opportunity to meet him at our Record Pool's Christmas party for him to present me with a copy of his newly pressed jazz Xmas holiday album! He signed it too! Natch. Not many members of the pool knew who he was and that was ok by him. He only brought about a dozen copies with him. Sometimes, it pays to be GAY. LOL

it is because it's sampled from the song Peanut Vendor by Ritchie Family 1975 from the album Salsa.
