I bought a cheap foam cannon from amazon as well. I've used it over 100 times already and it still works perfectly fine. In reality you only need 1-2 oz of soap and about a quarter of the bottle filled with water and I got some crazy foam. Have used this technique in all of the cars I've detailed and even when doing larger vehicles
Other than getting the hose connector turned around (watch out for that one), the machine is simple to put together and use ruclips.net/user/postUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP . And very nice, too. I'm surprised at the power-it's more than we'll ever need, and we've not even used the most powerful setting yet.I've cleaned off a dirty concrete porch to get it ready for sealing, started to clean siding, and I know this pressure washer will be terrific for cleaning tools this fall. The only issue we had is we had turned around the hose connector, and it leaked. Once it was on correctly, though, we had no problems with the connection. Just remember that the end with the green knob goes towards the hose. It's obvious now what we did wrong, but not necessarily obvious at the time.
If you swapped in a 1.1 then you most likely had a 1.25 installed on the first test. The 1.1 orifice is made for lower psi washers so it doesn’t get quite as much water

Bro I just got this foam cannon but at the time you connected to the pressure washer it doesnt attach kinda well, it leaks water from the quick connector. Did you use some white tape to seal it?
I guess the question is: is Sookie thicker foam truly better at washing the car? If it just sits it's not actually removing any dirt where is the soap that runs off will continue to pull away and you can just recoat. It seems cool but I'm not convinced it actually does a better job cleaning your car
Thicker foam is better because it does not evaporate as quickly giving you more work time, the car stays wetter for longer with thicker foam, reducing chances of water spots, plus it acts as a lubricant allowing you to scrub the paint and not scratch and swirl the paint as much. you can also add all purpose cleaners inside the foam cannon to help breakdown tar and bugs.
@@BigWitter1 First off, foam is NOT a lubricant. What determines the lubricity is your PIR and the product in question. Secondly, thick heavy foam falls off in clumps, and if it is too dry, it does not do squat. Quality foam is a foam that is light which means it can be wet, but still cling for long enough. Snow foam does not evaporate either. It's tendency to collapse in on itself as some foams do, is either a trait of the foam, and sometimes a simple lack of quality. However, the latter is far from always the case. Especially some prewashes would not be able to do their job if they were too thick and did not create a wet surface. BH Touch-Less is a good example of this. Some add a foam booster to it and quickly find that it does not work nearly as good. If you get water spots because your foam dissipates, wash your car in the shade, or make sure your foam is not too dry. See that's the difference between an MTM and a MJJC. The former creates a lingering, but light and wet foam that does a lot of work, the latter just creates a thick heavy dry foam that looks cool on RUclips, and waste a ton of product in the process.
I notice when you first start foaming with either orafice, the spray pattern is crazy wide, then you cut the video and then the spray is much narrower. What did you do?

Hi, I don't have a water filtration system at home. The city water is hard, so it leaves white water marks if I don't dry everything off. Is there a car soap that will help with that? Can I avoid not having to dry my windows and car? Car detailing is not what I do 🙂 Thank you!
I don't think there's a way to "avoid" drying your car other than not drying it. If your car was ceramic coated it would be much easier to blow dry it with a leaf blower. But having hard water could be an issue with ceramic coatings. With ceramic coatings, water will intentionally bead up and easily disperse when driving. However, if your car is sitting with beads you wouldn't want that those to dry on your car, especially with hard water as it can etch into the clear coat. If you don't want to towel dry the car, just try using a leaf blower.
Just wondering about one thing. I have 2 foam cannons (one is for just in case). With both on them, I've had the cannon on a vice with a long wrench on the quick connect. These things are so torqued on, they absolutely refuse to budge. How did you get yours loos the first time you did this?
They are more than likely fitted with loctite. Stick the quick release fitting in boiling water for two minutes, then it should be easier to loosen while hot. No need to dunk the whole thing in the water, just hold it in vertically so that the water submerges the connector fully.
Blake, what was the size of the orifice you removed from the cannon to replace with the 1.1 mm oriface? There are a few cheap knockoffs of this same cannon and maybe they're not all built equal. Mine is an MATCC and the orifice I removed, after buying the one recommended here, looks like it has an identical hole size. I guess it doesn't make sense to remove one part if the "upgrade" part is the same.
1.3mm was the stock size most foam cannons come with this size. It’s very hard to tell the difference as it’s not much smaller but it makes a huge difference.
Can you provide a link to an adaptor to make the lance wand quick connect fit the soap cannons? The sun joe spx3000 doesn’t fit standard foam cannon connections.

That actually makes the foam more watery usually the wide fan seems to make the best foam. You can try with yours but it’s pretty easy to figure what works best.
I like this soap and have the same foam cannon. You may need to adjust the + and - on the top...I get thicker foam than this with mine consistently. I have a ryobi pressure washer so nothing much different in that realm.
This didn't work work with current Walmart hyper tough models (identified with the red adjustment knob vs the old blue) The orifice is built into the quick connect.
I would put the hot water in the cannon first and then add the snow foam soap. Great video! I just got me a 1.1 and can’t wait to try it out. You have to get a short gun it is SO much easier!!
Here's a question. What do you think that happens when all that cold water flowing though that lance hits that small amount of warm water? Some very thick soaps will dilute a bit better in hot water, but other than that, it doesn't do anything.
My canon puts down a thin soap coat and goes through the bottle quickly, but I’m wondering how important the thickness of the foam is, since emulsification of dirt only happens at the paint/foam interface. Why is more better? Anyone?
It is a mix of duration, wetness and ability to drag the dirt off. A foam should absolutely not cling too long, and some foams not at all. It really depends what they are designed for. But that "shaving cream" is absolutely useless. When talking about how fast your lance goes though a bottle, you need to look at this in relation to how much water goes though the lance as well. What most people don't do is calculate their PIR. Reality is that systems can be very different and thus mixing ratios will be equally different. Some lances that might seem good like the MJJC, simply creates foam by pulling up a ton of product while letting very little water though. That's not a sign of quality, that's just a way to trick people to think it's a good foam cannon. Here's a suggestion. Using only water, experiment with the adjuster on your foam cannon so that it takes about 13-14 litres to empty it. That means if you fill it with one litre of water and point it down into a bucket, and run it until empty, there should be between 14 and 15 litres in the bucket in total - 13 to 14 litres from the flow though the lance, and one litre from what was in the bottle. This will also allow you to calculate your PIR or Panel Impact Ratio. Most snow foams are designed to have a PIR of 1%-2%. For example Mr. Pink from CG is a good 2% foam. Meguiars Ultimate Snow is fine at about 1.5% or so etc. If you have a total output of say 14000 ml including the 1000 ml from the bottle, getting a 1% PIR simply means using 14 ml of product for every 100 ml of water in the bottle. So for example a 400 ml mix needs 60 ml of product rounded up, and 340 ml of water etc. This is what a lot of people completely miss, and it is pretty important to get the proper performance form both your equipment and your products. Sadly, a lot of manufactures of the soaps aren't exactly honest with what is actually needed. They are more interested in making it look like you get more washing from your purchase than you might actually do. Gotta love a manufacture of a snow foam who with a straight face tells you that you just need 30 ml in a 1000 ml bottle. Must be one hell of a foam cannon they tested that on.
Here is the next mod for you. Get a couple quick release fittings to put on the actual handle of your gun. Then you just swap the wand to the cannon and don't have 5 pounds hanging out there. Best setup I've used. You can then get some different length wands for different situations and swap them quickly as well.
Idk why but if you watch videos from the USA most of the foam bottles are hanging off the end of the lance, but in UK they're attached right at the trigger. Normal lances with changeable nozzle patterns arent as common here in UK so maybe that's why.
You do need some sort of adapter to connect the cannon to the pressure washer right? Dont know why its not talked about more, not even on the box does it say 😂. My chemical guys big mouth even says something about quick connect but doesn’t say it’s not included.
I seen people say that it works good on low pressures but i run a 4500pst pressure washer and this 1.1 is not for me my pressure is 4.0 gpm and i do fleet cleaning so this works great for low pressures but it would suck at high pressures
Yes, and your point being? I would assume that rather than telling people that it does not work in your machine, you would tell them where and how to find the info on what orifice sizes they need and how to find out. I genuinely hope that if you wash cars with that machine, you use something like a 060 nozzle to lower that PSI, unless you're washing busses or vans.
Unless your using a one bucket wash method, having that shaving cream thick foam is useless/ counter productive. A more thin watery foam does a better job of making contact with the clear coat and contamination, and has more of a chance of dislodging particulates to let them run off the panels.

the tube in the bottle should likely be slightly longer than the bottle itself so that full screwed in it bends to the side. That lets u get the last bit out easier. If your talking about hooking up plastic aquarium tubing to move the heavy bottle off your wand it would prolly work but the soap solution would take a while to siphon up the tube before it reaches your tube which is a bit of a hassle imo
I'd like to know, too. I bought this jet too and when I removed the original jet, the hole size looked identical. Actual measurements would've been more useful than a before/after comparison.

Stupid question but what is the purpose of the foam Cannon? Does this mean you no longer have to use a sponge or a brush to actually wash the car? Just foam then rinse?
So the idea is that you first spray the car with water for a quick removal of dust. Then foam cannon to let the soap dwell. Then use a microfiber mitt and two bucket technique. Then final rinse. The main purpose for this is so that the least amount of dirt and grime is smeared around on your paint causing swirls and scratching.
I just bought the nozzle and i had some issues, after install everything when i pull the trigger the pressure washer would go on-off on-off on-off doesnt keep on, what could it be?
Skualo Nunez : If you turn on the pressure washer and squeeze the handle to release the air in the hose, and get a constant stream of water, it should be okay. Sometimes, it takes a minute or two to release the air out.

OK I got a bear force Lance cannon 😳 how can I hook it up to my garden hose??
Cleanest passenger fender after that video was done lol
Couldn’t you drill out the original fitting to the new size? Would that work?
The hole is smaller, so nope.
Where did you get that new fitting?
When I use my phone Cannon the pressure washer stop and go stop and go and it's not coming out at an angle and I did the modification I'm new to this if someone help me?
Can you send us a link on the foam sprayer that you have please
In the description
What about adjusting the fan spray width to a smaller fan width on the spray cannon it self ... Just a thought ... Thanks for the video brother ... 😎
That actually makes the foam more watery usually the wide fan seems to make the best foam. You can try with yours but it’s pretty easy to figure what works best.
I bought this orifice for my proklean cannon,but it didn,t work properly.Any info,guys?Is it a particular 1.1mm orifice for a Karcher k2
Just buy the foam cannon I recommended and put it in that. Problem solved for $15 👍🏼
Do you still have to hand wash it?
I like this soap and have the same foam cannon. You may need to adjust the + and - on the top...I get thicker foam than this with mine consistently. I have a ryobi pressure washer so nothing much different in that realm.
I have the ryobi 1800psi and i cant get good foam for the life of me
This didn't work work with current Walmart hyper tough models (identified with the red adjustment knob vs the old blue) The orifice is built into the quick connect.
hi does this work for MATCC Foam Cannon Adjustable Snow Foam Lance for SPX Series Pressure Washer?
I would put the hot water in the cannon first and then add the snow foam soap. Great video! I just got me a 1.1 and can’t wait to try it out. You have to get a short gun it is SO much easier!!
Here's a question. What do you think that happens when all that cold water flowing though that lance hits that small amount of warm water? Some very thick soaps will dilute a bit better in hot water, but other than that, it doesn't do anything.
Helps the soap mix with the water@@AB-80X
My canon puts down a thin soap coat and goes through the bottle quickly, but I’m wondering how important the thickness of the foam is, since emulsification of dirt only happens at the paint/foam interface. Why is more better? Anyone?
It is not the thickness that determines but how long it stays and cleans and lifts dirt that is most important if you are serious.
@@AB-80X How have you become so wise in the ways of foam canons? 👍Thanks for making time to labor over a hot keyboard with your thoughtful comments 👍.
@@stevewaclo167 15+ years of detailing on the side. You're welcome.
That Zeppelin is a nice touch
Dude! YES, thats a super cheap fix that makes it so much better. Also I really like the two B-Roll shots you 3:02 Keep up the great work!
Still too expensive for me. Read my comment. Got my done for zero dollar.
Here is the next mod for you. Get a couple quick release fittings to put on the actual handle of your gun. Then you just swap the wand to the cannon and don't have 5 pounds hanging out there. Best setup I've used. You can then get some different length wands for different situations and swap them quickly as well.
Great idea, I'll have to do that ASAP.
Idk why but if you watch videos from the USA most of the foam bottles are hanging off the end of the lance, but in UK they're attached right at the trigger. Normal lances with changeable nozzle patterns arent as common here in UK so maybe that's why.
Blake's Garage yeah it’s a must! You might have to get a new gun but it’s better than having the wand.
You do need some sort of adapter to connect the cannon to the pressure washer right? Dont know why its not talked about more, not even on the box does it say 😂. My chemical guys big mouth even says something about quick connect but doesn’t say it’s not included.
My problem with the quick connect to the foam cannon is that water sprays everywhere from where the QC connects to the cannon. Any idea why?
Maybe the o ring in the fitting is in need of replacement.
Use teflon tape.
Also try using distilled water in the bottle.
$1 per gallon from dollar stores.
You’ll see even more foam
do you think a 1.0 orifice would work better??? any thoughts on that???
Sounds great for destroying your pressure washer.
So is the new orifice smaller or bigger than the stock orifice?
Smaller
Unless your using a one bucket wash method, having that shaving cream thick foam is useless/ counter productive. A more thin watery foam does a better job of making contact with the clear coat and contamination, and has more of a chance of dislodging particulates to let them run off the panels.
Precisely. It should not be too watery, but properly wet for sure, and light. Nobody does this better than MTM.
What size produce does the factory supplies SunJoe foam “canon” come with?
I have no idea but I definitely wouldn't buy there canon it doesn't work well.
Check my newest video I posted yesterday I show the difference.
Blake's Garage I have a deferent SunJoe electric pressure washer from the one you have in the newest video. It came with a sorry foam cannon. I’ll be upgrading with week. Not sure what I’ll buy. I wash my three vehicles about once every two weeks.
ruclips.net/video/NbUINQGLdJc/видео.html This video I just posted probably is the same Sunjoe you're talking about. I show the difference between that one and the Amazon one in the description. The key is to buy and replace the Orifice with a 1.1mm the sunjoe one is absolutely horrible in comparison you’ll see.
Does this work for a foam gun for garden hose?
Nope.
Replaced it too it’s so sudsy now
My own orrifice is 1.0mm if i change it to 1.1mm does it work?
No. Find a 1.0 for the foam cannon.
Could you tell me please, will the foam canon be still affective if the plastic pipe, that is in the bottle, will be much more longer?
the tube in the bottle should likely be slightly longer than the bottle itself so that full screwed in it bends to the side. That lets u get the last bit out easier. If your talking about hooking up plastic aquarium tubing to move the heavy bottle off your wand it would prolly work but the soap solution would take a while to siphon up the tube before it reaches your tube which is a bit of a hassle imo
We're do you get that at
Where can I find the stainless steel piece?
Led Zep in the intro?? Dig it... the tongue twister too.
after you foam it what do you do next
So... what's the size difference from stock jet? ?mm to 1.1?
Cheng Saetern usually it’s like 1.7 to 1.1 it doesn’t seem like much of a difference but math wise it’s like 40 percent smaller
I'd like to know, too. I bought this jet too and when I removed the original jet, the hole size looked identical. Actual measurements would've been more useful than a before/after comparison.
but are you sizing up or down the nozzle hole size?
The whole is smaller increasing pressure and allowing less water GPM flow.
whats your ride ? make and model ?? Nice
holds in same place for 10 seconds. oh yeah waaay thiccer
Naz Sen I thought that too.
It’s the way the foam builds, with the other orifice the foam is much less fluffy, more watery, so it doesn’t build up just leaks off the car.
Yeh thought same
@@BlakesGarage Its supposed to flash foam and run pulling dirt off with it. Thicker foam doesnt mean cleaner car either. Dawn Platinum foams way better than that private labeled Chemical Guys garbage and probably cleans better too. I have some truly bad ass soap if you ever want a real difference. Check Blair Ceramics website if you want info.
@@JyroOne dawn also strips off waxes and other sealants, you would only use that if you were doing a full detail to get all product off the paint
Did the one you removed have an o ring on it?
The 2nd orifice is 1.1mm. What is the original one in size?
1.25mm
@@BlakesGarage Thanks!
Any idea if this works for the foam cannon chemical guys sells? I have the same pressure washer and the foam isn’t as thick as I’d like.
It literally looks like the exact same snow cannon. I think there bottle is different and they probably replaced the jet. But hey it’s five buck on amazon what could it hurt to try.
Blake's Garage sounds legitness. Thanks for the reply man. Love the Chanel. I also have a e30 for autocross so I really appreciate the DIY videos. Keep em coming.
Adjust the top nozzle for foamier soap
Stupid question but what is the purpose of the foam Cannon? Does this mean you no longer have to use a sponge or a brush to actually wash the car? Just foam then rinse?
So the idea is that you first spray the car with water for a quick removal of dust. Then foam cannon to let the soap dwell. Then use a microfiber mitt and two bucket technique. Then final rinse. The main purpose for this is so that the least amount of dirt and grime is smeared around on your paint causing swirls and scratching.
@@BlakesGarage nice. appreciate your response
You held it on there longer buddy of course it's going to be thicker
I noticed that too!😂
Where do you get the different size jet
Link in the description
I just bought the nozzle and i had some issues, after install everything when i pull the trigger the pressure washer would go on-off on-off on-off doesnt keep on, what could it be?
Skualo Nunez : If you turn on the pressure washer and squeeze the handle to release the air in the hose, and get a constant stream of water, it should be okay. Sometimes, it takes a minute or two to release the air out.
Skualo Nunez I have the same issue. Did you get it resolved?
did you just change the 1.1mm hole or also change the filter ?!
Just the hole.
@@BlakesGarage what's the difference from one to the other? put more foam, but spend more?
@@eduardofolha8415 1.1mm smaller hole more psi less water=more foam better less watery mixture. 1.3mm Stock hole more water less psi watery foam.

hey thanks buddy, so i'll order a 1.1mm hug and thanks!
@@BlakesGarage last question, at the end of washing with snow foam, do you do any kind of maintenance, or do you still keep the snow foam with the liquid on the shelf ?!
Did u ever update ur hose on sun joe or u still rocking stock one

No problem with a good compressor mais foam is way ticker without modifiing anything
Like very more thick it dont even drip of the car you put to much water
1:30 you gotta coat that small area for a bit dontcha
i just ordered the 1.1 orfice for mine Thank you
