Terrific video. I’ve found that Chris usually provides advice I’ve never heard from previous teachers. Moreover, he gives reasons underlying the advice that are easy to understand, which helps retention.

I thought I needed lessons to learn to hit the driver and then I found this video, detailed explanations and easy to understand. I am now more confident pulling out the driver

Great video Chris..nice to get back to the basic when you are losing distance..one thing I just caught watching the video is hand slightly ahead ..found that little point does help..thanks

Great video I'm 30 yrs old I've play a few times in my younger years but with little seriousness. I enjoy golf and I'm trying to get into now. I bought a fairly cheap set and some shoes etc for starters. this video is a great explanation

Being playing for 20 years + and still love these getting back to basics videos. Look like I,m guilty of leaning the shaft back and looking down the shaft instead of having it opposite my left inner thigh - will drill that - thanks Chris !

Very clear explanation Chris. Looking forward to trying it out. Your comment earlier about getting distance relatively easy is a good reminder to me not to try and hit the casing off the ball!

Great and complete explanation. Knew most of it, but didn’t know I was supposed to keep the club fully vertical during set up. Will give it a try on the driving range. Will hopefully help me get rid of slice.

Good evening, I just discovered this video earlier this afternoon. I watched the video a few times and then I practice hitting with 4 miles in my driveway and it really has helped me. For me, it was moving my hands forward to be even with the ball that has made a difference.

LOVED IT! I knew there's something wrong with my driver's swing coz I was hitting fairly straight shots with my 6 and 7 irons reaching upto 150-160 yards but i was pushing 99% of the strokes to the right from my driver, and I believe I know why! Thanks once again Chris. I can't wait to try ur advice at range.

great video explaining were the hands are at addressing the ball I always assumed my hands were level to the ball but after watching your video and placing the club in the inside of my thigh this has made such a massive difference thanks Chris

This video is perfect. Great descriptions, great advice. Thanks very much! Great that you talk about the setup and stance, really really helpful.
My driving is terrible, too much fading and slicing. Back to basics for me. Again, cheers mate.

i already carry the driver around 245 finishing around 270.. but ur the first to stress the hands being behind the ball & shaft being more vertical! this could be the angle or setup im missing to get past 280. Thanks

I always get good height and distance with my driver but it hooks right 90% of the time and I've struggled to fix it on my own.
No point in a massive drive when you end up in the swamp every time, lol.
Hopefully these tips will help when I test them out later today :)

Thanks for the great advice again, I have been trying to work on my Driver, as getting on well with Irons, but need to hit further. I had a tendency to massively slice my driver, till I took a video of myself and realised my angle of attack was way to steep. Shallowed that down, now getting a slight fade, which I can play with
As usual, great video .. but like other people said, cannot believe you did not hit one this time :-)

chris, can you discuss the differences in the takeaway? iron vs driver i mean. it feels weird taking the driver back in the same way as my irons! I'm talking about the backswing and the angle of the clubhead whilst taking it back.

Chris does hitting up allow more loft to be applied with less spin and therefore getting more distance? I'm wondering why not just use a more lofted club?

    • @ChrisRyanGolf
      @ChrisRyanGolf  8 лет назад +2

Mike Brown yes that's exactly right mike, allows us to reduce spin whilst increasing launch and ultimately gain more yards
