This definitely helped me out on the exam! I just turned it in and I really feel this video gave me a firmer grasp of the strategy behind making a rhetorical analysis essay.
Dang, just found out about this channel last night and been watching the videos almost the whole day- missed this live stream while watching past ones lol. I think I'm ready and will just go freely into the test and just let my best instinct work- just trying to understand the structure and how I can write everything well. Here are some questions I got: "How should your conclusion be? Should it just restate the thesis or how?" "Is a good structure Introduction, 2 Body Paragraph (each with analysis and in-depth in a choice by the author), and conclusion? " Thanks for what you do- find this channel has more simplicity in understanding things especially as the exam is in like 2 hours. Best of luck to everyone 👍
Yes, trust your instincts. The conclusion should be a few sentences, repeat your main idea with new words and then try to explore some of the "complexities or tensions" in the passage if you can talk about them. That structure sounds fine. Good luck today!!
Thank you for the last minute prep. Very excited and nervous to take the exam. I took APUSH last year and I passed that with a 4 and hopefully, I can pull another maneuver this year.
@@MarcoLearning Thanks so much! Just finished, I think I did pretty well. It was an added bonus that the text I got was really inspiring and thought provoking actually! I definitely used some great advice from your video and I can't thank you enough!
Guys who are learning English, never give up because you're about to be so proud of yourself in the future yet. I've been learning English myself for nearly 2 years, and I've managed to improve every important aspects, from listening to speaking only because of these kinds of lessons on RUclips. Now, thankfully, I'm quite confident to run my own English channel here, which is a little bit hard though but I like it BTW I really enjoyed the video, very helpful and interesting lesson, thanks a lot ❤️
i just finished my exam (which i had barely studied for) and used these videos as my studying- i don't know how i did but thanks so much for all the work you put in to these videos!!
I got the same prompt as you, Roosevelt's address. How many paragraphs did you write. His purpose is to convey the responsibilities of Americans as the power of the U.S. grows, right?
Watching the timer does not ease your mind. It's the equivalent of watching an explosive tick down without being able to do anything about it 😅 Thanks, John!

@@kerms2864 @marcolearning Yeah lmao I've been reading their study guide. It's pretty comforting. Like a tether to make sure I'm not gonna flail helplessly during the exam.
Alright I feel like I'm going into this in a better state of mind, you have a really good way of giving advice without further stressing out your audience (or, just me since, it's simple and effective and not too elaborate that i get it mixed up in my brain). test in about 12 minutes :))) everyone good luck!
Thank you for your support, I feel confident and wrote 985 words so hopefully some of those many words I used can gain me the complexity point alongside every other one
@@MarcoLearning It went great! I binged all your videos and took notes (e.g., on the different types of choices), printing them before the exam (which really helped). However, I scrambled to write a conclusion at 6 minutes remaining and submitted with only 30 seconds on the clock 😬😅! I would definitely not do that again; I was visibly shaking with anxiety as the clock was winding down, haha. Protip is that I could still use Grammarly by using the MS Word Grammarly plugin (I uninstalled the Chrome one). As much as people laugh at those who use Grammarly, it really helped catch some errors at the (literal) last minute that Word could not!
@@MarcoLearning By the way, I'm so amazed that you're able to set apart the time to respond to all our comments. I don't know any channels that do it as readily as you do; it really makes it feel like you're listening to our feedback! :)
On my essay I think I did pretty good looking at it side by side with the AP rubric but if I had a couple typos and missing words due to trying to hurry and finish would they deduct my score?
Remember that they don't deduct any points from your score. A few mistakes will not harm your score, but if they impede the flow of your argument, they can prevent you from earning the highest number of points.
Marco Learning i feel like I explained it very well but I could’ve used stronger rhetorical devices to make my essay better. I made sure to tie back my evidence to the thesis and the commentary part was really easy!!
multiple paragraphs of evidence and different rhetorical choices! much harder to score high if you only focus on one type of device throughout your essay
As long as you need to include specific evidence, comment on that evidence, and connect it back to your thesis. Typically, body paragraphs have at least five sentences.
not at all! in fact, i typically only write two body paragraphs in my essays so i can focus on presenting strong evidence and analysis of my evidence hope that helps :)
No, you can have 2 or 3 or even 4 body paragraphs. Focus on getting good evidence and writing commentary that connects that evidence to your thesis. Good luck!
not necessary, you won't lose any points for not having one, but adding one makes it easier to get the sophistication point as you can add more information
It's a good idea to write one if you have the time. As Daniel says, it can help you earn the sophistication point. Focus on getting that thesis and evidence in first. Good luck today!
It's not like it's an instant fail if you dont have a conclusion paragraph but you should probably try to get one to tie it all together. If there's no time try to write a quick concluding sentence in your last paragraph
To avoid technical problems, submitting an attachment is often the safest way. The College Board has indicated that copying and pasting in old browsers has caused problems for people. Follow the official instructions carefully and definitely start submitting as soon as the timer turns 5:00. Good luck on your exam!

If the person meant for narrative to be published, the audience would be the general public who reads the book.

for the body paragraphs should they just be evidence and commentary from the start or like a sentence to ease into the evidence and commentary?
