The cards were sweet, I really wish the box labelled MTG still had MTG cards in it. The box itself looked super old so I bet at one point there were some gems in there.
That koffing you mentioned actually has a "thin" 1st ed stamp. The thickness meaning is referring to the thickness of the "1" itself. So with less ink and the 1 being wider that would be a "thick" stamp.

by the way just cause they are "purple coloured/red coloured or green coloured" doesn't mean they are worthless, some of the most expensive cards are magic/trap cards
Considering most MTG packs have 15 cards 10k divided by 15 is 666.666 packs 🤑booster packs avg $4 and they only go up in price from there. We are looking at $2666 minimum spent on those and he sold them for $50. Bulk (0.01-0.05 cent cards) sell for $18 for 1k so $180 for 10k.
Yugioh cards have a code on the right corner underneath the picture that will tell you the pack or deck it came from so you can get a rough idea of when it came out.
those scapegoats and soul exchanges you got might have some value depending on what booster pack they came from.

My dad had an ABSOLUTE BIG collection he had a shiny original charzard (non first edition) and a team rocket shiny charzard (also non first edition) and a shiny first edition zapdos 🥶 (he sold most of his collection but I still have some)

the darker card destructions might be worth some money they seem to be from the earlier sets of yugioh. magic/spell cards were darker in color in the earlier printing. the Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, if graded could be worht a lot since it is a Jump promo.
