I am 16. I lost my dad 6 months ago, because of cancer. This video went straight into my heart. I never asked him what makes him proud of me, I couldn't say him how much he meant to me(I went to London and stay there with sister...) and I still regret.
It is really sad, when I see teenagers, people in my age who don't have respect to their parents. I just want to tell, that we should appreciate every small thing which they do for us and we should every day tell them, how much we love them and how they are important for us. We don't know the month and the hour, when something might change.
    Tell Them Now. #TellThemNow

My dad died of cancer in '07,my last conversation with him on the phone was hard and he was barely coherent,I had to tell him short of yelling that I loved him and repeated it more for myself than to make sure he heard me.I heard him feebly say with a whisper quiet voice "I love you too",and he died 3 days later. This clip is a punch in the nuts, and still beautiful.

bloodsling Right. I remember my last talk with my dad very well. On the phone. Punch in the nuts would describe this video well enough. To this day, a wee voice in the back of my head tells me I should have dropped everything and gone to the man.

Chris Winter Sometimes life doesn't always give us that option, work, distance, etc. In a perfect world everything in our lives would be 30 feet in any direction from our house :) but it doesn't work like that. As long as our parents know their kids love them and didn't turn out to be wankers that's about the best one can hope for.

I don't see the importance of fatherhood. I always wondered what's the importance of fathers in a child's life. I can see why mothers are important. Women are socially and biologically programmed to be parents much more strongly than men are. Mothers are the ones that produce milk to feed to their babies. Also, mothers are the ones that are usually in charge of their babies, and they assume that role early on. Also, women have "maternal instinct", while men don't have anything like that. And also, children usually spend a lot more time with their mothers than they do with their fathers, and during that time, the mothers are usually taking care of the children.
Also, most animals in this world are only taken care by their mothers and they don't have their fathers around at all. So why are human fathers important? It seems that a child can grow up without a father, and still turn out ok.

    •  3 месяца назад

@@cks7548 mira flaco que vos no le veas importancia a la existencia de una figura paternal en la vida de alguien es problema tuyo, si alguien está afectado por la ausencia de un padre no es para minimizarlo, así que metete el comentario por el culo mejor

My relationship with my Dad is very awkward. He never expressed love to me while I was growing up. He provided material things for me but what I yearned for as a child was his affection and attention. I never got that from him. We have never been close. I needed him so much when I was young but he wasn’t available emotionally. It really wounded me, irreparably I believe. What I learned from my father was how to build walls and never let anyone in. So, I’m 52 and have never let anyone in. Never married or had kids. Have no clue what being loved feels like and oddly, that’s all I ever wanted from my Dad as a kid.

Many people in this group have a hard time envisioning God as a loving Father because of their experiences with their earthly fathers. I'm here to tell you that you're precious to your Creator. He is the ultimate loving Father. I've followed Jesus Christ for over 50 years and He has never let me down. Backing you in prayer!

The scruffy-looking dad saying "your attention to...hygiene" to his clean-cut son as an example of what makes him proud. I don't think people know how much of a compliment that was. The man is saying that he's impressed that his son became what he couldn't.

RXbig Z I cannot remember ever telling my father I loved him, or him telling me. Having said that, expressing yourself can take many forms.
I moved to Sweden sometime when I was 25. My father had had a stroke 3 years earlier and had a paralysed left hand, a somewhat odd walk and had changed a little in that he'd developed a rebellious streak. He could not really come to Sweden to see me easily, so I went to the Netherlands four times a year to visit.
Every time I left the Netherlands he would always shake my hand. The man had a very firm grip, and for some reason he would always get a peculiar look in his eyes and hold my hand in a particular way that expressed more to me than any conversation we ever had.
I amazed my Swedish friends one day by saying I can't remember my father ever hugging me either, as a teenager or adult. But there never was a need. Everything was always in those handshakes.
It'll come to you if you let it.

This of course made me cry, especially the dad with the alcohol problem. I lost my pop on Christmas day 2005. He'd been an alcoholic since age 14 (though he was a "functional" alcoholic), but thank God he went into rehab and it stuck about 10 years before he passed. I was so immensely proud of him for that and for being an AA sponsor to so many. I still miss him and my mom so much. I know there are some people who don't have a relationship with their dad for very good reasons, but if you've just let things get in the way and haven't said it in awhile then #tellthemnow because your chance may be gone before you know it.

Make sure you say how you feel because they won't be here forever. I wish I could go back and tell my dad that I loved him one more time. I miss you daddy I'm 25 now and I really hope you are proud I followed in you footsteps and became a nurse just like you were.

I love my family so much and i hate knowing that i will have to say goodbye, i just wanted to let you know will i am sobbing writing this. do not take them for granted, your parents had a choice to leave you or to stay with you, and some people dont know their parents,
i am adopted i dont know my mother, i am kinda sad and angry at her because she did not want me, she gave me to a great family but its hard knowing your not blood, your not relatives with each other, your an outcast, you cant play with us your to young, my own cousins said to me, i hope you know that your family loves you and supports you no matter what they say i hope you know that.
And if you are thinking about suicide please think twice, think about who loves you; your parents, your friends, your pets (if you have any), and ext. you are enough no matter what they say. and trust me i know what pain you have to go throw to think about suicide. my friends that i had for 5 years left me to part of a popular group and they ignored me, then i got home and heard my parents where thinking about getting divorce. then at my sisters graduation my dad had a heart attack, he lives, but please think twice if you are thinkng about it.

Exactly!! Just one thing please don't waste your time being mad. My dad left me at an early age and I can't tell you how long I was mad. At the end of the day it's up to you to be better. Be you and you will be fine. ruclips.net/video/uuQBaGpOWO8/видео.html

I’m sure he’s proud of you, he might not say or show you it for whatever reason, it might be that he’s taught to not show emotion, or it it might something else. But deep down I’m certain that he loves you.

This made me cry, I miss my father so much every single day. Life is unpredictable, unexpectedly I lost my father this year January . 💔😭
Every father’s day I expressed through letter how grateful I am and proud for everything of what he did for me and family. But I wish I am more vocal and tell him directly eyes to eyes.
And even asked him what makes him proud about me? 😭💔

My dad had way too much work every day he would come home and work until midnight. Luckily he was well educated and we could have the best conversations (he was a teacher). He thought me many things and to this day still was one of the most influencial people in my life. He saved me from drowning when I was little and that convenient because I prefer being alive.
