What an extreme hurricane season! Thank you all so much for the incredibly support over the past year, really means a lot to me! I think Beryl, Debby, Helene, and Milton will retire but there is a chance Rafael may be on the table depending the official numbers Beryl -> Brielle Debby -> Daria Helene -> Helga Milton -> Mason
Nice animation, Chase. I’m surprised to see you stuck with 165mph for Beryl! I thought you would’ve gone for 175mph given the recon data sourced for it? Although, nonetheless, I don’t disagree with 165mph, I just thought you would’ve gone higher, aha. (I personally have 150kt, and tbf 155kt could be argued).
@ fair fair. I personally have forgotten whether it was a NOAA or AF flight. If it was NOAA, then yea that makes sense. While the FL winds were also in close support for 150kt I believe, although I can’t exactly remember the exact reading nor its altitude it was measured. 167kt and a 0.9 reduction comes to mind. If so, then 150kt would be supported. If it was 167kt with a 0.87 reduction, then 165mph would be supported :)) Memory is slightly tempered now hahaha. But ye, regardless, your overall intensity estimates are quite close along what I’m thinking too. 👍
2023 had unfavorable atmospheric conditions?! If the waters are so warm, that means more hurricanes Unless maybe I misheard you at the beginning there And also it's quality over quantity
2023 was incredibly active *Despite* having unfavorable atmospheric conditions *Because* the waters were so warm. This means that conditions were unfavorable, but the reason it was active was specifically the warm waters

@Jxredj You have a lot of mistakes. Here are them Mistake #1: Beryl is a girl name, Bart is a boy name, so Bart as a replacement Is invalid Mistake #2: The name "Dolores" is already in List 1 for the EPAC, so Dolores is invalid Mistake #3: Francine does not meet the requirements for retirement Mistake #4: Joyce does not meet the requirements for retirement, Julian is in List 1 NATL Mistake #5: Leslie does not meet the requirements for retirement Mistake #6: Milton meets the requirements for retirement Mistake #7: Nadine does not meet the requirements for retirement, Nora is in List 1 EPAC Mistake #8: Patty does not meet the requirements for retirement Mistake #9: The 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season never reached the name "Valerie"
You just now Hurricane Destiny would fulfill it’s Destiny by making a Category 4 landfall in New York City never name a Hurricane Destiny it will do unspeakable things
Some things to point out: 1. Kirk did not reach cat 5 (but it may have had the potential to, the storm was so organized) 2. Milton was 185/897, not 185/890 (gusts of 245 were recorded in the storm) 3. wth were there 4 unnamed systems that aren't in the wiki.
And the last one is Oscar didn’t reach Cat. 2 hurricane, it just stop at Cat. 1 while impact Cuba with max wind speed around 85 mph and lowest pressure is 986 mbar
Kirk did not reach category 5. It had an unstable eyewall, and it reached a T7.0 on Dvorak for only one hour, which doesn't support C5. I agree with C2 Oscar though.
@@cyclonechaser0815 I would say kirk was def a good estimate, however it def LOOKED like a category 5 storm (eye was more circular than Emily from 2005)

They won’t do Deborah, because that replaced Dora in the EPAC

Maison is the French word for house, they could use the regular spelling of the name "Mason" instead

7:11 Helene really had something against Tallahassee 💀
2:12 SONIC WAVE FROM GD! 7:39 DEADLOCKED ALSO? Edit: Also I didn't know Kirk was CAT 5, I thought it was only Beryl and Milton.
