I'm interested to see what the Stormbox Blast can do after you've adjusted the eq. For the money I'd prefer the Blast as things currently stand but we'll see if Soundcore can pull a rabbit out of their hat with their continued firmware updates. 🐰🎩 Thank you for another excellent comparison, Alan! 😁👍👏
I hope so. 🤞 It could sway my opinion back to the Boom+ if they get it right. I think a rematch comparison might be in order after the next Boom+ update and after Alan has had a chance to eq it and the Blast.
@@_-Z- Boom Plus can't match the bass of the Tribit, but if it can sound more detailed without that terrible 6khz peak, it would justify the fact of having both. The tight nature of Boom Plus bass is awesome. The speaker just need some tweaking to be great... 😭 (Though I'm already quite happy with my latest EQ changes. But quite isn't enough.)
Yeah i know you will as a true hardcore supporter but others are more fickle 😊 also tribit asked if could get this out on 28th. I never promised too but did rush it a bit because of that. They didnt apply any pressure but its inherent in me to try and keep people happy if i can. I want to get back to just chillin with a bacardi and coke and live streaming 😎
Awesome review as always Allan! For the price, the Stormbox Blast is better for me due to the deeper bass and louder sound. The soundcore is also good but you have to sacrifice sound for portability. I'm curious to see how the Stormbox Blast performs against the boombox 2.
As always, great review Alan. Such a tough decision, I think I'm gonna have to buy the Stormbox Blast and compare it with my Motion Boom Plus that I already have. And by the way Soundcore has assured me that there is going to be a fix for the bloated radiator issue.
They said the same thing to me, but if people aren't returning them in droves (it doesn't look like they are), it's unlikely they will attempt to fix it or even address it for that matter.

I’ve been watching your videos for a decent amount of time and this is my first comment. Over here in the US. I have to say your videos are extremely entertaining and very informative. I have a lot of speakers and a lot of them I have bought because of you. Everyone asks why the hell I have so many speakers, I tell them because they all sound different and I use them for different circumstances. I like hearing the differences of all the speakers. And basically all your analysis are spot on. It all started with the motion+ and then my collection just exploded from there lol. I have the motion boom, Sony xb43, jbl extreme 3, charge 5, flip 6, a lot of the Tribits including 2x maxxsound plus’s which sound very open and neutral and very surprising. soundlink flex, xsound mega which I think is somewhat comparable to the flex. I also have the UE megablast which Is kinda like the motion plus but 360 and less bass. I also have the wonderboom 2 which is very throwable like you say. I have the rave mini which I use at work, I have the rave, the big one. It’s a little bass heavy but your ears adjust shortly. I got the boombox2 also only after you reviewed it. Got it for $370 which I think is a steal. I think I’m gonna pass on the boom plus and might consider the stormbox blast. Not until you review the blast and boombox 2. So, so far the boombox 2 has the deepest bass of the speakers I have. I really enjoy deep bass over punchy bass. I’ll just stick with the motion boom and maybe get another for stereo, but it’s just so ugly, but I know it would be worth it. Just waiting for the blast to be available here in the states. Keep up the good work and I will always watch your videos!
Since that you have started this kind of listening diversity like me... You might want to try to listen to a pair of the "Xdobo x8 Max" playing in TWS mode as it will do this 6d effects kinda sounding feature in all your musics which i found it quite cool besides having one of the best deep bass and highest clarity speaker amongst its class. Have a try, and you won't regret having that unique speaker in your collections! ✌
BTW @@alanrossreviews, Is there any way to fix the 5k Hz dip and the 6k peak using their own apps? Or maybe you mind including the best EQ guidance/setting to fix those particular sound defects on your next post someday? Just for those "Hot speakers" with such problem so that we will be more happy with our decision respectively, thus will improve our listening pleasure as it took me ages to get the best sound from the EQ when such things occurred. It might help me to not getting another speaker anymore as well! Lol
I think Motion Boom is ugly too, so i bought a carrying strap case (got it for 5 USD), to take it to my dance trainings and protect it, now it feels and looks much better, people think it's part of the speaker and they find it kinda cool
I have them both Soundcore Pros: super light as an everyday use to work nice bass, mids & Hi's set your own EQ Awsome strap can charge in vehicle thru cigarette lighter Cons: -sometimes the bluetooth seems like it skips or disconnects and fast forwards my music during the song which is embarrassing while im driving in my 18 wheeler big rig - Battery drains fast on xbass and without it Tribit Pros: - nice bass - preset your own EQ - cool LED lights - Battery lasts a long while while not on xbass - can charge other devices from tribit Cons: - no strap (had to order one separately from another vendor) - super heavy - its a plug in cord in the wall (detachable of course) overall felt I gotter better sound from soundcore as it is louder than Tribit....as heavy as it was i couldnt understand why Souncore was significantly lighter but has better sound. I use tribit as a backup but in the end I chosr Soundcore as my Primary speaker for work

Thank you for this comparison. You've described the differences in great detail, which I find very helpful. In your comparison, I like the Blast better than the Boom Plus. To judge, however, I would have to hear it in person - with my individual 3rd Party EQ settings and my favorite music. I'm already very happy that your verdict was not unequivocal and that it was in favor of the blast under all circumstances. Since two Blast cost 460 euros, the purchase was unnecessary for me. For me, the 300 euros for two Boom Plus was a self-imposed limit.
of course, thats the bottom line everyone should know, ultimately hear it in person in your own room with your own ears on the actual drivers to really know the speaker.

If you could level out the treble with eq or an update it could be a great speaker even though to big for me. Happy to see someone take down the JBL boom box a notch
Great test. congratulations Alan! And as I said a few days ago in his comments... this Tribit is better than the motion boom plus in everything! And if you test both in an open environment, the tribit is even better than the boom plus! when you test it against the JBL BB2 you will probably find the two very similar.. but the tribit costs much less! and THIS TRIBIT IS BETTER THAN the jbl on-the-go...In terms of portable boxes this tribit seems to be the best value for money today! Tribit Stormbox Blast and JBL Encore Essential are the best options today (in my opinion)! Better than them only the big tower boxes....but then they are no longer transportable! And for serious listening at home we still have the hk studio 6/7 but it doesn't have much power and doesn't have a good battery, which prevents it from being a box for outdoor use. I'm curious if in the next test you will be able to obtain a good equalization on the tribit that can compensate for the drop in it at 4.5 khz.
@@jeffmccrady9456 I need it unplugged...to listen in open environments. and to take on a bicycle in the groups I participate. these sizes (Tribit or Encore) are the maximum size you can take on a bike without losing as much performance. a friend takes a jbl 310 on his bike. but this limits the use of the bike a lot...I'll see if I can find this channel to watch this test. thanks for the tip
The dip in the highs on the Blast actually makes it so i prefer the Boom Plus in this comparison- Does it EQ out? I will say the Blast definitely out-booms the Boom in this comparison. The mid-cut in reaction to people disliking the 6Khz peak is absolutely obscene. Then again, i might also be a bit of a treble masochist; my favourite headphones are the Beyerdynamic DT 990...
First time for the Tribit StormBox Blast (be careful for that fire!!) XD BUT I´'m sure many of us would love to hear it for your (our) taste, that means using its equalizer!! otherways... NO SPEAKER after Motion Boom seems to improve its quality and fidelity in its curve, wich I simply love (you know I own two in TWS) By the way: I have never seen your cat who has made those scratches on your arm!! Soundcore rushed the release of the Boom Plus, probably handed it out to a couple of beta testers. The Tribit was out in the wild for months so they had more time to do proper field testing. The Boom Plus could have been a massive hit if it sounded like the Tribit and had proper testing. The fact that the Soundcore has low weight is a major advantage and in reality nobody gives a ***about the lights. All in all, the hype created by Soundcore and your realistic reviews made that I ordered the Tribit Blast for power and the Mifa Wildbox for portability. Btw, if you can get your hands on the JBL Encore essential: that is such a great sounding , handsome and decent priced speaker, if alone a battery upgrade would be possible. Keep up the good work! Next time, Anker should include you as a Beta tester to prevent such disasters.
I tried to get the essential but nothing in uk currently. Yeah i dont want to be a beta tester 😭 im already doing more than i ever intended, this is just a hobby for me and the original goal was to give my opinion on these speakers and people can weigh up all the opinions out there. But its hard to not try and please the very people who are subscribing and taking the time to comment. I have to be careful not to cross the line into pure reviewer territory and putting out videos that im just going through the motions in. Primarly im here to chill out and enjoy my hobby of youtubing 😁
All this positive talk on thr jbl essential so I bought one and it's awful. There is so much port noise it's insane. Even at the second volume step I can hear the port chuffing. Yes it plays very deep like 35hz but it's ruined by the port noise. It's very odd. It's odd. Nothing feels lose or anything or rattles around inside so I doubt it's defective. If you play a frequency test tone of and range between 35 and 55hz the port noise is so loud it sorta makes it hard to hear the actual bass. The noise it's audible from 15 feet away at mid volume. Probably going to return it.
@@alexlittig7927 seems like you really do have a detective unit, i bought 2 to compare with my 310, and i dont hear any port noise. The only complain is the battery for me
Hi. I Believe your speaker brand. Will be excellent. For the competition. With good base on low volume as in high volume. I believe the best sound is 100wts..With a good mild frequency..high frequency Has distortion.. And I hope you speaker will sale good on Amazon.. Best of luck.... Thanks Alan for the long awaited review and comparison of the Stormbox Blast. . I'm liking the sound of the Stormbox Blast but I'm sticking with MB+...hoping the sound issues will be fixed. I haven't seen any issues with the radiators yet...will find that out this weekend when I take out in the sun at the beach. I see a revised MB+ on the horizon...they have to. Hopefully they will offer a discount to those who got the first MB+ units.

the Soundcore MB+ is a much better speaker IMO....I have them both and have to carry them everyday...sound × weight × price = SMB+ ...TRIBIT is a good 2nd I got the soundcore on sale at $132.00....original price $179.00 I got the Tribit storm on on a flash sale at $152.00 ...original price $199.99 what sold me on the soundcore was the recent floods in Florida a soundcore was buried under 2 feet of mud and water for a few weeks and the homeowner plucked it out and cleaned it off and it played with no issues....I was sold....tgat was one of the comments on soundcore on Amazon

I'm looking to buy an upgrade for my JBL Charge 3 and my preference is the Motion Boom Plus due to being more portable than the Tribit, but I also want to have some upgrade bass-wise. I was wondering; does the Boom Plus have deeper bass than the Charge 3? Or is it about the same, just louder?
yes the charge 3 lacks deep bass, even the charge 5 is an upgrade to the charge 3. the motion boom plus will be an altogether bigger experience than the charge 3.

to get more deep bass you need the soundcore motion boom plus plugged to aux port not sure about tribit thiugh since i dint own one but so far i managed to get 20hz very audible with aux but with bluetooth the boom plus bass cuts off at 30 hz try aux and you will be suprised i think

As of 17/01/2024, Blast is on sale for 152 EUR, shipping included on Amazon DE and I couldn't help myself not buying it. Now I am awaiting for my paired Blast madness. 😂 I know I could get a Q Acoustics 3030i for the money I paid for two Blasts but It would be passive-powered set and I would still spend at least 150-200 EUR more for the amplification and I wouldn't be portable. I will not regret once I receive the second Blast, I'm sure.
I can't compare to anything in reality, because the only other speaker I own is the original extreme 1. I got the Stormbox blast.....and I totally LOVE it! For the price, it's unreal. It's loud, it's clear, the bass is deep, the highs and mids are fantastic. Now to compare to speakers costing 3 times the price and more....I digress. I'll keep it real. You wanna spend $200? Just get the Tribit. I don't see any weakness. It's not a high fidelity audiophile system. C'mon now.

I've riceived 2 blast a week ago. The day after I sold it.... They are enormous, impossible to find the right place in my house. 2 motion boom are waaay easy to place in the right place and they are even louder, ok tribit have good lows but everyone is expecting more spl output from that beast
@@alanrossreviews You have to admit that 2 booms is the reference to beat. Who buys a speaker of this type, what does he intend to do with it? If 2 motion booms outdoors are not enough to throw a party then even 2 tribit blasts are not enough ... Especially if you have to put them on the ground outdoors. Being able to position correctly on a window, on a shelf this type of speaker makes a lot of difference, better to have 2 motion booms close rather than a jbl partybox 3 meters further away because it is difficult to place

this will kill the x10 and the t9 is a different speaker, its more refined and does not do deep bass, the blast is a boombox and does that well. but heavy too.

The Stormbox blast is great for the price and the speaker that gets closer to the Boombox 2 than the Motion Boom.but it still has some notable problems. Great video Alan 🤙
the 5.5khz dip and the need of a mains lead to charge. but two for less than a bb2, hard to argue with that. i just wish xbass off was a balanced bass (not upper bass) and then the xbass was a big bass boost, as it stands there is no balanced bass mode
@@alanrossreviews That is a severe dip. Haven't come across any other freq. response charts for the Blast yet. Will be interesting to see if that finding is duplicated in all units. As stated, the other issues are very minor given the value level. Another small (personal) gripe would be the design/aesthetics.
If I understand correctly, the Soundcore Motion Boom Plus did NOT have a 6khz peak when first released. Then a subsequent firmware update introduced the 6khz peak. Do I understand correctly? If so, does anyone have an idea of the reason?
I have a question. Take the Tribit for example in this video. There are 2 tweeters and 2 drivers for a total of 4 speakers. If I am only playing one of these Blasts at a time is it truly playing in stereo? Are there truly 2 channels being used? And if so can one appreciate the stereo separation and sound stage on this unit being it is not rather large? If I run two Blasts at the same time being paired via TWS, is the left channel (left Blast unit) being played COMPLETELY different sounding ( as in true stereo separation) than the right channel (right Blast unit) being played? I would really appreciate an answer. All of this has me stumped! I appreciate your videos immensely! Thank you!
yes stereo in both cases. of course true stereo SOUND requires them properly spaced out in a equilateral triangle to the ears. close together it will depend on your ears what you hear and what you percieve but for me you do get a little bit more soundstage separation, that doesn't make it 3d like though.
Right? The only thing he demos is this god awful bass and drum autotuned computerized cicada hihat dance hall pop trash. Like, play some actual music recorded in a real room with real artists and real instruments for once.

@@alanrossreviews If 8t was up to me Alan should have had this speaker weeks ago. That applies to Soundcore as well...they should have sent the MB+ to top reviewers in plenty of time for feed back so as to minimize the number of issues they are having currently. I think the MB+ was rushed but I still think they can fix some of the issues...not all cuz some seem to be hardware issues. Would be nice to see a revised Motion Boom Plus with bigger size battery pack, probably different twitters, passive radiator issues addressed, better tuning out of the box (very important).
Hey Alan! Would like to get your take on this: I have a Motion Boom, and I really enjoy its output - most of my listening is at 50% volume. If I go for the Blast, how much lower will the volume be with the Blast, and in that level, is it still a good listen? I mean I know it goes louder, but volume matching the 2, is the Blast superior? I am willing to sacrifice size for sound quality. Thank you in advance!
Alan, which do you prefer one Tribit Blast or two Soundcore Motion Booms. I have two Motion Booms right now, and love it. However, I was thinking pf getting one Tribit Blast just in case I am missing some of deeper bass.
Hey Alan, which firmware release was this review done with? I've already used the initial unnumbered version, v1.6 and I'm currently on v2.0. I wonder if the sound has changed at all or they fixed that dip, although I haven't noticed any big changes. They mostly fixed the rainbow lights with v2.0
Ah ha, knew there had to of been a firmware update on the tribit because to me it sounded dull on Flossy's reviews. Then again I think Alan uses better mics!

I own the Tribit Stormblast, bought it for €152,- with FLOSSY discount. it’s a great speaker with rumbling BASS!!! Really deep BASS. Don’t own JBL Boombox 2/3 which will probably have even deeper BASS, but don’t forget it’s 3x more expensive! So for at this price point, TRIBIT STORMBOX IT IS. Will even order a second one for true stereo sound…🔥🔥🔥
Even tho i disagree about the motion x600 i 100% agree i haven't been this blown away by bass and sound quality since i had the jbl boombox 2 stormbox is a nasty NASTY bass machine
Hi Alan I'm a big fan of your channel, I receive my Tribit Stormbox Blast and is insane I'm returning my Motion Boom Plus because I like the Tribit better. It have the 1.8 firmware and it says there's a new firmware available. Did is safe to make it?
i think that new firmware is just for bluetooth? i havent got around to trying it yet. the old adage is if it aint broke dont fix it. i see no compelling reason to update at this point.
i dont know the ps 919 but id get a motion boom rather than xb43, maybe even the motion boom plus JUST for loud outdoor use but this blast beats them all.

Tried in the store sharp speaker,has a nice bass, tweeters are weaker but they aren't terrible. Would be interesting if you can tested it, because price is very tempting it was low like 50£ in the Lidl, it's crazy low price for bass level he can produce.
Not bad at all considering its not EQed at all, very decent stock tuning. The Tribit actually has the potential to be a good 'critical listening' speaker, with proper extended bass and not that cheap mid bass boost we find on most speakers In my books, its the new VFM champ.

Alan, I recently got two of the Tribit Stormbox 2 to just check them out because I've beeen out of the loop for awhile. Overall for the money there not bad at lower volumes but soon as you turn them up they get real screechy. I think for a small travel speaker they would be ok but for me I will take the Bose Flex. I personally think the Bose Flex sounds better then two of the Tribits paired up. I honestly think the Bose Flex is the best BT speaker they've ever released and well worth the $150. Just my two cents my friend.
Hi. My Tribit smells pretty strong electronic. or something like plastic. does any of you have this too? no idea what that could be. it is waterproof, so how is the smell supposed to get out?

WoW what a suprise actual deep bass compareable to the bbx2 on the 200ish price point, did not expected that at all and am surprised *chuckles*, totally did not watch oluvs vid xp 🙄🙄. Now with all seriousness never expected for tribit after the stormbox pro dilema and other previous stuff, also a company that never did big speakers to come with such a banger. Awesome review as always Allan! For the price, the Stormbox Blast is better for me due to the deeper bass and louder sound. The soundcore is also good but you have to sacrifice sound for portability. I'm curious to see how the Stormbox Blast performs against the boombox 2.

As always, great review Alan. Such a tough decision, I think I'm gonna have to buy the Stormbox Blast and compare it with my Motion Boom Plus that I already have. And by the way Soundcore has assured me that there is going to be a fix for the bloated radiator issue.

I’ve been watching your videos for a decent amount of time and this is my first comment. Over here in the US. I have to say your videos are extremely entertaining and very informative. I have a lot of speakers and a lot of them I have bought because of you. Everyone asks why the hell I have so many speakers, I tell them because they all sound different and I use them for different circumstances. I like hearing the differences of all the speakers. And basically all your analysis are spot on. It all started with the motion+ and then my collection just exploded from there lol. I have the motion boom, Sony xb43, jbl extreme 3, charge 5, flip 6, a lot of the Tribits including 2x maxxsound plus’s which sound very open and neutral and very surprising. soundlink flex, xsound mega which I think is somewhat comparable to the flex. I also have the UE megablast which Is kinda like the motion plus but 360 and less bass. I also have the wonderboom 2 which is very throwable like you say. I have the rave mini which I use at work, I have the rave, the big one. It’s a little bass heavy but your ears adjust shortly. I got the boombox2 also only after you reviewed it. Got it for $370 which I think is a steal. I think I’m gonna pass on the boom plus and might consider the stormbox blast. Not until you review the blast and boombox 2. So, so far the boombox 2 has the deepest bass of the speakers I have. I really enjoy deep bass over punchy bass. I’ll just stick with the motion boom and maybe get another for stereo, but it’s just so ugly, but I know it would be worth it. Just waiting for the blast to be available here in the states. Keep up the good work and I will always watch your videos!
Since that you have started this kind of listening diversity like me... You might want to try to listen to a pair of the "Xdobo x8 Max" playing in TWS mode as it will do this 6d effects kinda sounding feature in all your musics which i found it quite cool besides having one of the best deep bass and highest clarity speaker amongst its class. Have a try, and you won't regret having that unique speaker in your collections! ✌
i think this is the best way to enjoy our hobby, they all sound different and can be enjoyed in different ways 👌

It might help me to not getting another speaker anymore as well! Lol
I think Motion Boom is ugly too, so i bought a carrying strap case (got it for 5 USD), to take it to my dance trainings and protect it, now it feels and looks much better, people think it's part of the speaker and they find it kinda cool

-sometimes the bluetooth seems like it skips or disconnects and fast forwards my music during the song which is embarrassing while im driving in my 18 wheeler big rig
- Battery drains fast on xbass and without it
Tribit Pros:
- nice bass
- preset your own EQ
- cool LED lights
- Battery lasts a long while while not on xbass
- can charge other devices from tribit
Cons:
- no strap (had to order one separately from another vendor)
- super heavy
- its a plug in cord in the wall (detachable of course)
overall felt I gotter better sound from soundcore as it is louder than Tribit....as heavy as it was i couldnt understand why Souncore was significantly lighter but has better sound.
I use tribit as a backup but in the end I chosr Soundcore as my Primary speaker for work
its always about taste at the end of the day, for me the motion boom plus is unlistenable

Thank you for this comparison. You've described the differences in great detail, which I find very helpful. In your comparison, I like the Blast better than the Boom Plus. To judge, however, I would have to hear it in person - with my individual 3rd Party EQ settings and my favorite music. I'm already very happy that your verdict was not unequivocal and that it was in favor of the blast under all circumstances. Since two Blast cost 460 euros, the purchase was unnecessary for me. For me, the 300 euros for two Boom Plus was a self-imposed limit.
of course, thats the bottom line everyone should know, ultimately hear it in person in your own room with your own ears on the actual drivers to really know the speaker.
Soundcore is a better speaker in my opinion...tribit just lasts longer in respects to power

Great test. congratulations Alan! And as I said a few days ago in his comments... this Tribit is better than the motion boom plus in everything! And if you test both in an open environment, the tribit is even better than the boom plus! when you test it against the JBL BB2 you will probably find the two very similar.. but the tribit costs much less! and THIS TRIBIT IS BETTER THAN the jbl on-the-go...In terms of portable boxes this tribit seems to be the best value for money today! Tribit Stormbox Blast and JBL Encore Essential are the best options today (in my opinion)! Better than them only the big tower boxes....but then they are no longer transportable! And for serious listening at home we still have the hk studio 6/7 but it doesn't have much power and doesn't have a good battery, which prevents it from being a box for outdoor use. I'm curious if in the next test you will be able to obtain a good equalization on the tribit that can compensate for the drop in it at 4.5 khz.

@@jeffmccrady9456 I need it unplugged...to listen in open environments. and to take on a bicycle in the groups I participate. these sizes (Tribit or Encore) are the maximum size you can take on a bike without losing as much performance. a friend takes a jbl 310 on his bike. but this limits the use of the bike a lot...I'll see if I can find this channel to watch this test. thanks for the tip

The dip in the highs on the Blast actually makes it so i prefer the Boom Plus in this comparison- Does it EQ out?
I will say the Blast definitely out-booms the Boom in this comparison. The mid-cut in reaction to people disliking the 6Khz peak is absolutely obscene.
Then again, i might also be a bit of a treble masochist; my favourite headphones are the Beyerdynamic DT 990...

Soundcore rushed the release of the Boom Plus, probably handed it out to a couple of beta testers. The Tribit was out in the wild for months so they had more time to do proper field testing. The Boom Plus could have been a massive hit if it sounded like the Tribit and had proper testing. The fact that the Soundcore has low weight is a major advantage and in reality nobody gives a ***about the lights. All in all, the hype created by Soundcore and your realistic reviews made that I ordered the Tribit Blast for power and the Mifa Wildbox for portability. Btw, if you can get your hands on the JBL Encore essential: that is such a great sounding , handsome and decent priced speaker, if alone a battery upgrade would be possible. Keep up the good work! Next time, Anker should include you as a Beta tester to prevent such disasters.
I tried to get the essential but nothing in uk currently. Yeah i dont want to be a beta tester 😭 im already doing more than i ever intended, this is just a hobby for me and the original goal was to give my opinion on these speakers and people can weigh up all the opinions out there. But its hard to not try and please the very people who are subscribing and taking the time to comment. I have to be careful not to cross the line into pure reviewer territory and putting out videos that im just going through the motions in. Primarly im here to chill out and enjoy my hobby of youtubing 😁
All this positive talk on thr jbl essential so I bought one and it's awful. There is so much port noise it's insane. Even at the second volume step I can hear the port chuffing. Yes it plays very deep like 35hz but it's ruined by the port noise. It's very odd. It's odd. Nothing feels lose or anything or rattles around inside so I doubt it's defective. If you play a frequency test tone of and range between 35 and 55hz the port noise is so loud it sorta makes it hard to hear the actual bass. The noise it's audible from 15 feet away at mid volume. Probably going to return it.
@@alexlittig7927 seems like you really do have a detective unit, i bought 2 to compare with my 310, and i dont hear any port noise. The only complain is the battery for me

Thanks Alan for the long awaited review and comparison of the Stormbox Blast. . I'm liking the sound of the Stormbox Blast but I'm sticking with MB+...hoping the sound issues will be fixed. I haven't seen any issues with the radiators yet...will find that out this weekend when I take out in the sun at the beach.
I see a revised MB+ on the horizon...they have to. Hopefully they will offer a discount to those who got the first MB+ units.

yes the charge 3 lacks deep bass, even the charge 5 is an upgrade to the charge 3. the motion boom plus will be an altogether bigger experience than the charge 3.

to get more deep bass you need the soundcore motion boom plus plugged to aux port not sure about tribit thiugh since i dint own one but so far i managed to get 20hz very audible with aux but with bluetooth the boom plus bass cuts off at 30 hz try aux and you will be suprised i think

A while ago i bought a bluetooth speaker that had the old name of DBSOARS F5 GO, now it has no name, just a random chinese brand.
it is very cheap, i got a coupon and at the time i paid $52 more or less for it, it is a good speaker, it is waterproof, very compact, loud, it has a nice design, but i would like to know how it would do against other speakers of the same price, if you get one of these, could you do a review of it comparing to the motion boom?

As of 17/01/2024, Blast is on sale for 152 EUR, shipping included on Amazon DE and I couldn't help myself not buying it. Now I am awaiting for my paired Blast madness. 😂 I know I could get a Q Acoustics 3030i for the money I paid for two Blasts but It would be passive-powered set and I would still spend at least 150-200 EUR more for the amplification and I wouldn't be portable. I will not regret once I receive the second Blast, I'm sure.

It's loud, it's clear, the bass is deep, the highs and mids are fantastic. Now to compare to speakers costing 3 times the price and more....I digress. I'll keep it real. You wanna spend $200? Just get the Tribit. I don't see any weakness. It's not a high fidelity audiophile system. C'mon now.

I've riceived 2 blast a week ago. The day after I sold it.... They are enormous, impossible to find the right place in my house. 2 motion boom are waaay easy to place in the right place and they are even louder, ok tribit have good lows but everyone is expecting more spl output from that beast

@@alanrossreviews You have to admit that 2 booms is the reference to beat. Who buys a speaker of this type, what does he intend to do with it? If 2 motion booms outdoors are not enough to throw a party then even 2 tribit blasts are not enough ... Especially if you have to put them on the ground outdoors. Being able to position correctly on a window, on a shelf this type of speaker makes a lot of difference, better to have 2 motion booms close rather than a jbl partybox 3 meters further away because it is difficult to place

The Stormbox blast is great for the price and the speaker that gets closer to the Boombox 2 than the Motion Boom.but it still has some notable problems. Great video Alan 🤙

The huge dip and peak and as of now that's pretty much it
the 5.5khz dip and the need of a mains lead to charge. but two for less than a bb2, hard to argue with that. i just wish xbass off was a balanced bass (not upper bass) and then the xbass was a big bass boost, as it stands there is no balanced bass mode
I wouldn't really count the 12 volt Universal charger to be a big downside if it charges very fast
@@alanrossreviews That is a severe dip. Haven't come across any other freq. response charts for the Blast yet. Will be interesting to see if that finding is duplicated in all units.
As stated, the other issues are very minor given the value level.
Another small (personal) gripe would be the design/aesthetics.
If I understand correctly, the Soundcore Motion Boom Plus did NOT have a 6khz peak when first released. Then a subsequent firmware update introduced the 6khz peak. Do I understand correctly? If so, does anyone have an idea of the reason?

I have a question. Take the Tribit for example in this video. There are 2 tweeters and 2 drivers for a total of 4 speakers. If I am only playing one of these Blasts at a time is it truly playing in stereo? Are there truly 2 channels being used? And if so can one appreciate the stereo separation and sound stage on this unit being it is not rather large? If I run two Blasts at the same time being paired via TWS, is the left channel (left Blast unit) being played COMPLETELY different sounding ( as in true stereo separation) than the right channel (right Blast unit) being played? I would really appreciate an answer. All of this has me stumped! I appreciate your videos immensely! Thank you!
yes stereo in both cases. of course true stereo SOUND requires them properly spaced out in a equilateral triangle to the ears. close together it will depend on your ears what you hear and what you percieve but for me you do get a little bit more soundstage separation, that doesn't make it 3d like though.
I have to say for the Music that I listen to the Soundcore product has not let me down and i like the sound of the boom plus

@@alanrossreviews If 8t was up to me Alan should have had this speaker weeks ago. That applies to Soundcore as well...they should have sent the MB+ to top reviewers in plenty of time for feed back so as to minimize the number of issues they are having currently.
I think the MB+ was rushed but I still think they can fix some of the issues...not all cuz some seem to be hardware issues.
Would be nice to see a revised Motion Boom Plus with bigger size battery pack, probably different twitters, passive radiator issues addressed, better tuning out of the box (very important).

Hey Alan! Would like to get your take on this: I have a Motion Boom, and I really enjoy its output - most of my listening is at 50% volume. If I go for the Blast, how much lower will the volume be with the Blast, and in that level, is it still a good listen? I mean I know it goes louder, but volume matching the 2, is the Blast superior? I am willing to sacrifice size for sound quality. Thank you in advance!
well the blast will sound bigger and deeper, but look at the difference in weight and size, boom still best value.

Alan, which do you prefer one Tribit Blast or two Soundcore Motion Booms. I have two Motion Booms right now, and love it. However, I was thinking pf getting one Tribit Blast just in case I am missing some of deeper bass.
It's a close call, immersion vs deeper bass. Its not worth giving up two booms for one blast.
Hey Alan, which firmware release was this review done with? I've already used the initial unnumbered version, v1.6 and I'm currently on v2.0. I wonder if the sound has changed at all or they fixed that dip, although I haven't noticed any big changes. They mostly fixed the rainbow lights with v2.0

@@brenthastings7881 yea, flossy uses the crappiest mic, it's pretty close to unusable to me. He also hypes speakers which are known to be crap and never calls out bad ones. He's obviously a paid influencer and cannot be trusted. I only trust Alan and Oluv

I own the Tribit Stormblast, bought it for €152,- with FLOSSY discount. it’s a great speaker with rumbling BASS!!! Really deep BASS.
Don’t own JBL Boombox 2/3 which will probably have even deeper BASS, but don’t forget it’s 3x more expensive!
So for at this price point, TRIBIT STORMBOX IT IS.
Will even order a second one for true stereo sound…🔥🔥🔥

Hi Alan I'm a big fan of your channel, I receive my Tribit Stormbox Blast and is insane I'm returning my Motion Boom Plus because I like the Tribit better. It have the 1.8 firmware and it says there's a new firmware available. Did is safe to make it?
i think that new firmware is just for bluetooth? i havent got around to trying it yet. the old adage is if it aint broke dont fix it. i see no compelling reason to update at this point.

i dont know the ps 919 but id get a motion boom rather than xb43, maybe even the motion boom plus JUST for loud outdoor use but this blast beats them all.

Tried in the store sharp speaker,has a nice bass, tweeters are weaker but they aren't terrible.
Would be interesting if you can tested it, because price is very tempting it was low like 50£ in the Lidl, it's crazy low price for bass level he can produce.

Not bad at all considering its not EQed at all, very decent stock tuning. The Tribit actually has the potential to be a good 'critical listening' speaker, with proper extended bass and not that cheap mid bass boost we find on most speakers In my books, its the new VFM champ.

Alan, I recently got two of the Tribit Stormbox 2 to just check them out because I've beeen out of the loop for awhile. Overall for the money there not bad at lower volumes but soon as you turn them up they get real screechy. I think for a small travel speaker they would be ok but for me I will take the Bose Flex. I personally think the Bose Flex sounds better then two of the Tribits paired up. I honestly think the Bose Flex is the best BT speaker they've ever released and well worth the $150. Just my two cents my friend.
