Thanks mate! Yes the scenery was great. The mat is an Exped Flexmat XS, planning to use it this summer with a bivy. Now that its warmer and light longer I’m hoping to do more quick overnighters like this.
I enjoy hammock camping when its raining and buggy, just light a mosquito coil under the tarp and all is well. Not really light, but of course that depends what you compare it to. I’d like a warbonnet hammock eventually, but still fairly new to this so will see how many hanging trips I do this season before spending. Bivy with tarp ground camping is the main project this summer tho, above the treeline for the views :) Here it has been pretty dry for a while now, but I am sure it will pour non stop as soon as the summer vacation comes around. Sleet and all I am sure of it :)
Beautiful forest! Looks like you had a great time out hammock camping.👍I've tried a couple different hammocks, I always sleep just "okay", thinking about trying the Hennessey Safari series next.
Thanks mate! I usually sleep pretty good in a hammock, just need to find that sweet spot. I’d like this one to be a touch longer. Warbonnet and Dutchware seem to be very popular in the US. Or the norwegian Amok Draumr If you like to sleep flat. Fair warning the Draumr is an expensive system, but its tempting.
Lately they have not been reliable at all for where I live, one day it might say sunny and no clouds but its just all grey while the next day it says pouring rain while I look out the window and see blue skies hehe!
Nice, the sun set looked amazing! Can't beet the sound of rain on a tarp lol
Thanks mate! The sky was real pretty indeed. Rain is fine as long as it does not come sideways hehe!
Really great photo opportunity there in that forest, great!
Nice set up you have there, I like your sleeping mat, looks light and compact.

Good thinking on the tarp. Beautiful place.
Never can trust the weather wizards!
Raining a lot here too. 6 months with no rain and now it's none stop. Looks like a good no nonsense setup. Bet it doesn't weigh much either.

@@ThePreparedNorseman Thanks, I do prefer to sleep a bit flat. I'll definitely check those out. Thank you!
Nice setup.
Thanks mate!
