Good night Harvey. Today i replaced the radiator in my Fabia. It took the afternoon. Total cost 60€ for an International Radiators radiator. For sure it will not last 20 years has the original. I have called my wife for help once. Congratulations for doing it alone. Thank you for your work. Long life to Harvey.
Incredibly thorough and accurate - and slick too! Thank you! It hadn't occurred to me to leave the headlights in place, or to use adjustable straps to hold the radiator and condenser up - interesting ideas.
My now x 2008 vw tdi pole only had the one colling fan which at to be replaced at 70,000 miles when I tried it for a 2015 Vauxhall Astra the pole had 100,300 miles it was going to need some big jobs doing to get to another 100.000 miles I am loving my Astra it runs a lot smoothly with the extra cyilder it is also doing the same mpg
Amazing guide, thank you very much, really useful (as always). Thank you for taking the time and effort in creating your series of guides. My Skoda Roomster has identical front end to the Fabia (well not just mine, they all do!), cheers, Chris
Cześć, prawdopodobnie mamy ten sam silnik, stary czeski 1.4 MPI kod silnika AZE.
Good morning Harvey. Hope you are good. I have been thinking about this for a while now, where are the airbag sensors in this car???? I was thinking that i bought an crashed car but i did not see them in your video also.
Excellent video. Honestly, VAG could'nt have made the radiator + Aircon system any more complicated if they had tried ! And why do VAG use such crappy screw fixings which rust if you breath on them heavily ? Why couldn't the engine radiator fan simply be attached to the engine and powered from the engine belt system or a separate electric motor. An electro-magnetic clutch could engage/disengage the fan rotation upon receipt of a signal from the EMU/radiator temperature sensor ! And simply ditch the existing fluid based cabin aircon and replace with a couple of dry Peltziier semi-conductor blocks attached to the cabin firewall. The reduction in weight, power loss and maintenance time would be huge !
Thanks, you are very welcome. I agree with the VAG clips that could have been so easily made from a more durable material. The placement of the fans relays seem None-logical to me being potentially easily exposed to road grim if the undertray and fittings there are compromised in any way. The fans are electrically controlled through the ECU which is simple enough, but also a shame it isn't controlled separately with the engine as I think you are suggesting. They tried belt drive and clutch systems before, but weren't good enough for improving engine efficiency and economy. The semi-conductor thing sounds very interesting, I'll have to look into that one as you say we have a complex AC system that can be troublesome so something simpler would be the way to go I agree. Thanks for sharing your thoughts ;-)
El módulo de cierre centralizado se encuentra debajo del tablero inferior del lado del conductor en los modelos con volante a la derecha. Creo que podría estar en el asiento del pasajero derecho en los vehículos con volante a la izquierda, pero no estoy 100 % seguro.
When you press the AC the fan should come on usually, depending on the ambient temperature, cabin temp etc, but usually, so the fan or the controller could be your problem or the AC pump doesn't work or not enough gas or pressure. First port of call would be a re-gas with a dye to locate leaks and then a leak stopper.
@@HatBoyHarvey the fan does not work, the engine temperature is normal, there is no temperature inside the vehicle and the hose near the thermostat burst
Which fan are we talking about, internal heater fan or radiator fan that comes on when it gets too hot? sounds like the interior variable speed resister air sensor needs looking at ruclips.net/video/X0a0_x7q5aY/видео.html - take the glovebox out and test to see if there is power going to the fan also. replace the hose and check for other leaks. once the fan is going it may fix all issues or needs further investigation. Hope the video link helps :-)
@@HatBoyHarvey In-car fan works, no problem. Although the temperature indicator is at 90 degrees, the radiator fan does not work. I think my problem is with the car thermostat. The interior of the vehicle does not heat up because the thermostat is broken.

Thanks, that is great to hear, these straps are very useful and cheap, I use them for a lot of things :-)
Very helpful video, it helped me tonight to replace mine radiator on 1,4tdi watching step by step as you show
Great to hear, nice rewarding work, happy days :-)
Fantastic guide. Thank you.
I would add that when putting back the front panel+headlights, be very careful as very easy to scratch your wings.
Thanks, glad you found this useful. Hope you didn't scratch anything, good advice :-)
Well detailed. Just the help i need to fix a leaky radiator but hoping that a rad seal will suffice. Tks for the effort.
I love yo wach your videos many times in those winter days
Very cold here at the moment :-)

My pleasure, glad you like them, this one was quite involved and time consuming, but worth doing I think. :-)
Best videos about Fabia mk1. Thanks a lot.
Wow, thanks :-)
Thank you very much, very helpful tutorial! Tip for owners of 1.4MPI without AC, you only need to take off the front bumper.

Did you have the car on Jack's or have it lifted to get the rad out the bottom?need to do it on a 05 vrs in a container so no room to jack it up
Your VRS has AC so you will need to remove the rad as in the video. You don't need axle stands - I only used them to take off the plastic under tray.
which of these fans are for AC ? the biggest or the smallest?
Great video👍
Is the radiator fan supposed to come on immediately on the Skoda Fabia when you turn on the AC?
