      Not really. I'm a blacksmith with experience working an a lot of different metals, copper being one of them. If a metal like copper gets "brittle" then you haven't eh anealed it? i think is the english term. It's when you heat it up to red, then cool it down. This lets the crystals in the metal relax agein. Soft metals like copper becomes "brittle" trough a prosess called tool hardening. It's when you keep hitting/working the metal, and don't heat it up. If you work copper the right way, it will remain soft.

    • @PersianHandCraftsP
      @PersianHandCraftsP  Месяц назад +2

      Fico feliz que tenha gostado, meu amigo.
      O pó que é espalhado nas bordas dos recipientes de cobre durante a soldagem é normalmente chamado de fluxo.
      Fluxo: Este pó ou produto químico atua como um fluxo, facilitando o processo de soldagem. O fluxo cria uma camada protetora na superfície do metal, reduzindo a oxidação e permitindo que o metal se ligue de forma mais eficaz.
      No caso de recipientes de cobre, o fluxo geralmente contém compostos como bórax. Bórax é um mineral natural usado como fundente na soldagem e brasagem de metais.

      Ammonium chloride is a chemical substance used in the process of tinning copperware. It cleans the copper surface and helps tin adhere better to the copper, resulting in a shiny finish. Ammonium chloride aids in melting the tin, allowing it to bond more effectively with the copper. It can also assist in melting copper for soldering copper sheets. 🌹

    Man, how many millions of hanmer blows must he have struck in his life?
    I can see where a good sized funnel could be useful to collect the excess 'powder' not stuck to the seams.
    All that hammering to get the overall conical form could be avoided by starting with a sheet cut to shape so as to make that basic cone section from the outset. Of course, this generates a bit more 'waste' due to the more complex shape than of an initial rectangle. And it requires a wider sheet to start with. And so the cost in unused copper must be weighed against the labour; the latter is probably the cheaper.
    What is the market, and hence what is the potential profit? I hope the tedium of repetirive hammering is amply enough rewarded.

    • @PersianHandCraftsP
      @PersianHandCraftsP  2 месяца назад +1

      Hello. Thank you, dear friend, for all this attention. I will definitely pass on your suggestions to these masters at the next opportunity. But I know that these blows are not just for shaping the shape of these dishes, but also greatly increase their resistance and make them less easily damaged and much stronger. And finally, like you, I hope that the dear workers and masters will receive wages commensurate with their effort, art, and value. ✔✔❤❤

      Ammonium chloride, or sal ammoniac, has various applications in the copperworking industry. One of its most important uses is as a flux. A flux is a substance that lowers the melting point of metals and cleans the metal's surface oxides to facilitate soldering. 🎁

      The powder that is sprinkled on the edges of copper vessels during soldering is typically called flux.
      Flux: This powder or chemical acts as a flux, facilitating the soldering process. Flux creates a protective layer on the metal surface, reducing oxidation and allowing the metal to bond more effectively.
      In the case of copper vessels, the flux often contains compounds like borax. Borax is a natural mineral that is used as a flux in soldering and brazing metals.
