    My uncle used to have his own pilot car business. I used to like riding with him. Couple times we were taking loads into DC. The cops would sit on the off ramps and rush out and start stopping traffic for us to get into the city. It was crazy. People don't pay one bit of attention to the wide load signs and flashing lights. Those cops would shut um down though. I forget what they were hauling in. I wanna say they were building a jail or something.

    You need to be careful around Tim Gentry. On a live stream where one of his trucks rolled down the hill at the Pilot and hit the concrete pillar by the Cat scale.(Driver said brakes released by theirselves with the parking brake pulled) The boats that Tim loaded and strapped down himself come loose from the trailer. (the truck rolled 50 to 75 foot not the driver running at highway speed and had to slam on breaks) When someone questioned his securement, he was accused of being a "Hater" and Tims responce was "He was a driver not a securement specialist". Being an old heavy hauler securement was first and utmost priority in making sure that load want move. And now he is towing with no experience in securement with a tow truck. REMEMBER HE IS DANGEROUS !!!

    Big money in hailing boats. But it’s also expensive. I had a policy that covered me constantly because all I did is haul boats. Some were valued at several million dollars. But I also made tens of thousands per load. All depending on the boat I was hauling. It was also usually lighter loads as fiberglass is light, boats are also aerodynamic so less drag better fuel economy. The hardest part sometimes was finding tie down spots on them so you didn’t damage the fiberglass.

    Must be different rules down there as none of those trucks would qualify as pilot trucks were i am. No red and white backlit signs on top of the trucks, needs 2 sets of lights on the sign board inboard and out board. Each truck has to carry specified equipment including safety vests, flags, safety signs.The backlit signs are $2500-4000 each with the mounts. There is literally 15 pages of regulations in the cvsa regarding pilot trucks.

    Left lane is called number 1 and right lane is called number 2. That subway car going to Brooklyn, NY is MRI. I’m on the same contract with a different company. We run five in, MRI runs five in every two weeks. We are at 160,000lbs. A wide load should never pass another wide load; EVER! Secondly, watch your speeds in some of these states; especially OH. YOU WILL GET FINED AND YOUR PERMIT WILL BE PULLED. Other than that; keep on trucking safely! BTW, where is the required equipment you need to have to be a Pilot? You’re missing a bunch of stuff that’ll get you shut down! Hope you had PA insurance too! Also look at the PA 511 page. You shouldn’t have been out there that day.

I have noticed that aside from the tjree of you there has been no chatter. It also so incredibly wonderful to see you on tje cusp of the silver plaquue! I can remember when there was less than 10,000 when I started watching your channel... and the content is everybit as awesome now as it was then. I pray that everyone is safe, healthy, and doing well. Much love n prayers to all.🙏💜

    I don’t know how the pilot thing works but I rather have someone who’s a cop to block a two lane highway when I drive lol because many people don’t pay attention when driving now a days. I don’t drive semi’s but that looks terrifying.

    To be honest I hauled boats for years and never had to take up two lanes. I’m not sure why Tim had to? The only time I took up all lanes is hauling at night with a 50’ wide hull

    This has to kick Tim in the balls. He seems to be really a good dude and is definitely a fan of trucking but the way he goes about things cutting corners or just throwing money at a problem doesn’t work and and drivers call him on it. He gets his feelings hurt. A young guy starting a family is stressful throw in all the problems running his business like this. I can’t imagine……..Must be nice having butter bean run your front door.

    Do all the Wide Load Truck have 2 Way Radio on the same channel or do they just use any channel. A common channel would allow them all to know what other truckers are doing and be a lot safer.

    • @cheezst8ke
      @cheezst8ke 3 месяца назад +2

      the common channel truck drivers mainly use is Ch 19 on the CB. But you can use any CB channel for what Tim and Steve were doing. There's no designated channel for wide loads to use. The only common thing is the pilot cars and the wide load truck have to be on the same channel so they can communicate with each other.
