No it wouldn't. Electric cars depreciate more significantly than the gasoline counterparts; if you want to sell it in future, you lose the money you have saved. And even if you do not consider selling it, 5-8 years later you need to pay a large sum to replace the battery.
@@cameractive9316 Nonsense! Stop spreading false FUD! 1) There is a huge range in the depreciation rates of EVs. Some depreciate rapidly, but at least in the US the Tesla Model 3 does not depreciate at all over the first 3 years, and the Tesla Models S and X depreciate LESS rapidly than ICE cars. There is no way to predict the depreciation rate for the Honda e, because it has not been around long enough. Look at the sixth table on this page and the discussion of it: www.iseecars.com/cars-for-sale#section=studies&study=off-lease-car-deals&v=2020 2) The battery life in hybrids, like the Toyota Prius, may have been short for early adopters, but battery technology and maintenance software have advanced dramatically in the last few years. In a BEV bought today, the battery may last 8000 charge-discharge cycles. Even if abused, it should retain usable capacity after 4000 cycles ( i.e., more than 11 years if cycled once a day.). Glad to see a new car that isn’t the size of the moon! That being said, £27,000 converts to roughly $35,860. A Tesla Model 3 Starts at $37,990. The Model 3 cuts nearly 3 seconds off the 0-60 time, and has just about double the range. Not to mention it’s a nicely sized sedan with usable rear seats and a decent sized trunk (with an additional frunk). All for just $2,000 extra. I’m not a Tesla fanboy, or really a fan of any electric car, but this Honda makes a Model 3 look like the bargain of the century.
Even for a "City Car" the range is not enough IMO. Especially for the price. Because guess what. Sometimes you want to go further. And then you are basically forced to rent a car or go by public transport. And that(to me) defeats the purpose of having a car.
Seeing you associate points about the car to the different landmarks that you see is a really cool and refreshing take on car reviews. Absolutely loved it.

You clearly haven't driven in Algiers, the road are crazy and the drivers are even more insane!
Cone to India man!
I saw a Honda E on my travels today, actually really liked how it looked, the pictures never did it for me, but in the flesh I was a fan. If I was after a electric city car, this would top the list. I do 500 miles of A Roads a week, rarely drive in town, I'm in a diesel at the moment, maybe a hybrid (330e or similar) next, not sure I'm ready to go full electric yet.
no need to, your profile is 100% perfect for a diesel.
Tesla!

Working out lately, Mathew Watson.💪💪
Love it, inside is just so "Stranger Things"
Blue color of Thames river is same as the color 😅😂😂
5 likes ! Let's see if I can manage just the one lol
The Thames is more the colour of the seatbelts, if something
No dude… the Thames? Brown as a brownie
Blue???? Are you even from the UK 😆 it's more like diarrhoea brown
Thanks matt for being a London City Tour Guide where some of us cannot never visit... ♥️ From Sri Lanka.
Would love too see an all EV drag race with all the equivalent competitors you mentioned in the video 👍
got a tour of London AND review of the car. fantastic. The car: looked very weird at first but by the end of this video it grew and began to look actually interesting
Yesssss finally. Small car Made lot of a chaos. Thats so chaos in beautiful.
"That was our revenge for their independence." had me crack up so hard.
15:40 it's if the royal standard is flying that she's in, they fly the union jack just to not have an empty flag pole when she's out. and since coronavirus she's lived at windsor castle, and has now permanently moved there.
Saved me typing it
Was wondering if anyone else was going to say that :P
Nobody:
Honda: Would you like to attach a car to your screens?
It's such a funky and cool car (perfect for mat) 😂
"Most EVs use large capacity batteries, but often, much of that capacity goes unused during city driving,” said Tomofumi Ichinose, chief engineer of the Honda e, told reporters earlier this week.
“We question whether larger vehicles are appropriate for urban areas, and believe that smaller is a better option for cities.”

the way you used landmarks as transitions to different talking points about the car.. really smooth i rate that
River Thames -> Water -> Litres -> How many Litres of boot space does the car have?
Even in England, There is a Street where u drive „Right“ 😂
Loved this tour lol. Great idea to review the car this way. Good job guys
"steering is very sharp, it's ACURA" I see what you did there 14:26
This is the most beautiful Honda since i can't remember.
After watching this, arguably very good video!
Turns out the Honda E is a lot worse than i thought it was, especially for my uses.
So, now i want it even more.
Hey Mat, the link to the Thames could have been the water-cooled battery in the Honda e! :)
It actually looks a little futuristic!!
😂
About the Thames, the car has an aquarium so maybe some sort of link to that?
I like the subtle screens. They're more true to life, easier in the eye and less distracting.
This would be a perfect second car for a middle class couple, for the school run and shopping. It would save money long term too...
No it wouldn't. Electric cars depreciate more significantly than the gasoline counterparts; if you want to sell it in future, you lose the money you have saved. And even if you do not consider selling it, 5-8 years later you need to pay a large sum to replace the battery.
@@cameractive9316 won't be long before all cars are electric
@@cameractive9316 Nonsense! Stop spreading false FUD! 1) There is a huge range in the depreciation rates of EVs. Some depreciate rapidly, but at least in the US the Tesla Model 3 does not depreciate at all over the first 3 years, and the Tesla Models S and X depreciate LESS rapidly than ICE cars. There is no way to predict the depreciation rate for the Honda e, because it has not been around long enough. Look at the sixth table on this page and the discussion of it:
www.iseecars.com/cars-for-sale#section=studies&study=off-lease-car-deals&v=2020
2) The battery life in hybrids, like the Toyota Prius, may have been short for early adopters, but battery technology and maintenance software have advanced dramatically in the last few years. In a BEV bought today, the battery may last 8000 charge-discharge cycles. Even if abused, it should retain usable capacity after 4000 cycles ( i.e., more than 11 years if cycled once a day.). Data here:

@@cdpendrill long?...try about 30 years long. There is not enough resources to replace ICE with EV vehicles currently. And that's just covers cars, scooters and bicycles. You forget the earth's biggest polluters, shipping, goods transport and air travel.
You forget that a newer model will cost the same and have much better range making this car hard to sell for good money ie massive depreciation. EV drivers only buy for the now factor as it will depreciate faster than a ICE car due to less range and battery life.
Can we just appreciate how mat took time to find similarities of the car with London landmarks. 👏
The interior of this car is STUNNING. The exterior is cool and quirky too. Price is also very affordable compared to the competition. Honda absolutely nailed this one.
you didn't see the whole video did you
Camera quality should be better at such a big channel!
Pewdiepie laughed at this
it usually is stunning, idk why its just this one vid thats bad
Watch supercarblondie she still films with her phone which makes sound quality horrible this was cuz it was kinda dark

This is so interesting 👌👌
2 bedroom - doing well ! I've been living in a one bed for the past 10 years
The segues in this video are absolutely outrageous. Love it!
This is like Mat's History class featuring a Honda e😆
Excellent review and enjoyed the tourist and historical references
22:25 like a true BMW owner
The Alan Partridge part had me rolling on the floor.
I’ve never wanted a car more than this little thing. Don’t know why I just think it’s cool. Thanks for the tour Mat very informative, i had no Betty was short for Elizabeth
When an A45s is your camera car 😂
The camera quality is just terrible. Don’t know what happened.
*Looks like they shot it on a phone from 2012!* "RETRO STYLE!"
The Queen is in residence if the Royal Standard is flying from the flagpole over Buckingham Palace, not the Union Jack..!
This is the best tour of London I've ever had.
10 of the most tenuous links in motoring journalism history??
Well done Matt for being so depressing cheerful so early in the morning. :)
Honda: "We have problems with battery life."
Also Honda: "Hey, let's add this fancy aquarium thingy."
24:47. “Wish I could make the fish eat each other”. 😂
Ok Mat, I love this car and your dedication to get up early and go around London you should do this with more cars, when you went across the bridge the Honda actually came alive and it's eyes winking and looking at us have you also noticed as a little shape in the bottom corner to make it look like a tear duct, that's the Honda crying because i can't buy one if I could have thought one I would have one tomorrow. apparently has an Honda assistance so could you have asked for all the famous landmarks for the Honda Google Alexa thingy to give you a breakdown and description👍🤣 proved even in electric cars BMWs drivers are Cox, he was jealous because you look cooler than him 🤣
I think you are the best London tour guide ever! I will do follow your video when I have friends coming to visit and will take them to see all these landmarks
This format was genius. Really interesting and amazing links to the car. Carwow is the best car channel on RUclips
It's good that the brake lights come on with the regenerative braking effect.
It’s required by law. All electric cars have this feature.
@@matthewp9015 Ah cool thx
Matthew Pilbrow Not sure all put the brake lights on on regen.
Clive Flint depends on the amount of regen/deacceleration. Most EV’s activate the brake lights: Tesla, i3, I.D3, Honda E, and Ionic/Kona when regen is set higher. I don’t think the Leaf does.
I am a huge fan of retro futuristic designs
