Casey, you are a natural in front of a camera. I see a career for you in this field when playing disc golf is not on the cards any more. Hopefully this won't be for a good few years, but I am impressed.
P Terry’s!!! they’re up and down the highway now in the area. One right around the corner from where the open at Austin will be. If you like fried chicken you’ll have to try Spicy Boys, there’s one right next to a brewery and a distillery near metcenter disc golf course.
How could "the Tour", flex its muscle to help out the caravan players? Pro and con list? If payouts were substantially better you could play fewer events but that's all about sponsors. Thx for being a positive rep for the sport, threw these growing pain years.
great insight, good stuff!! some content to consider, is EATING ON TOUR or GRUB'n ON TOUR. I'd like to see these spots you are finding, and the various local breweries!!
My dad has to with other family members like my mom or my brother go and get plants/stuff for the greenhouses (owned since 2016) a that are within a day/ very rarely two days drive, there were some changes like to the Trucking Industry that made it cheaper to go and get, as was changes to the suppliers some went crappy had poor availability in 2018/2019 making it so they had to get plants from others, then others shut down entirely/shut down parts of supplying as they could not make a profit off that part of the business so they had to use others to get the plants they need. They also go to place to get other stuff they can't get shipped to them, this local metalwork and pick out the greenhouse related stuff.
If you do drive past South Dakota again (and happen to end up stranded like GG, hopefully not though), we're always willing to help! Just look up Black Hills Disc Golf and send a SOS, or even stop by Jackson Park for a quick round. Fun small course 😃
Great video. I travel 3-4 days a month for work in Idaho and Utah and it can be tiring. I have no idea how you guys go most of the year. Looking forward to traveling up to Portland again to watch the tour next year.
Next time you are around Columbia, MO... (Harmony Bends) area, I'd host Ya Man! I have a brand new black hole pro basket, in my kitchen! lol Seriously though..
Well when you come to Minnesota this summer I live about 45 minutes from Blue Ribbon Pines and 40 minutes from The Preserve. My home is open for you the whole up stairs is yours. I have a basket in the yard too if you needed putting practice.
This is why if I was on Tour I would go with the Truck and camper, this way if I wanted to play a course that was hard to get to, very remote I could do so on time off or if I end up on a route that is not on paved roads or gravel in summer in good weather.
Should there be a second route on the pro tour to accommodate the growing popularity versus more people at the same events? I do think the courses have felt repetitive lately either way
Where do you keep the sword you won at the Greater Hartford Open? I hope it’s hanging on a wall somewhere. Or maybe you should keep it in your van in case you break down in a sketchy area.
Bit of a weird question, but do you leave the van on while you sleep? Feels like it would be hard to toe the line between being cold and saving gas. Just a thought.
Trust me we are way more worried about cooling down than heating up on tour 😅 That being said, blasting the ACfor 10 mins before going to bed is a life saver in the summer
Hey man thanks for the content cool take on being a pro. Myself I would love to be able to do nothing but creating content and playing disc golf. The game has brought my family closer together cheers 🍻 that would be scary as a pro if you in a slump and you don't know why that would be the toughest part. Plus having to deal with media or fans asking why? The correct answer should always be I'm just a person who practiced a bit more studied the game a bit more and love the game maybe a bit more. So some days your just a bit off. Wow Just noticed the Wayne Gretzky oilers jersey cool is it autographed? Sorry for your loss, That would be the hardest is being away and have any kind of loss can't do anything but try to play around.
You left out a big con: bathrooms.

I still can't believe how Sweet that Ace was, in the last vid!

This was a great video, Casey. Really enjoyed the insight about van life.

When you're in Austin, go to Hopdoddy instead. Soooo many choices of burger, and they are AMAZING!

I have central air too 😆

Would love to se a video of how the van is set-up!
This was super interesting
Enjoy it while you are young Casey!
When and where does the season start, do you know, I can't wait

😂😂. I keep it in my room, but I definitely want to hang it up!
That’s funny I’m pretty sure I played Cliff that morning with ej and he said you were staying with him or his family that night
How much do pros rely on tournament winnings vs. sponsorships? Or is it just the top few pros with big sponsors?
With payouts being low I think sponsors and tour series plastic make a majority of the pro's income.
Awesome video. Let me know when you're in Ohio next and lets get a round in!
