  • Another SAAB video where i demonstrate headligh adjustment, the procedure is the same for cars equipped with xenon lights (automatic leveling) or not.
The difference is the scan tool usage for xenon lights, and for non xenon lights equipped with manual tilt function you need to set the tilt knob halfway before adjustment.
    Enjoy the video

irst place you're well. I would greatly appreciate your comments on the following . I recently changed the headlights of my car , everything even the voltages on the headlight leveling switch are according to the manual , but the headlight motors raise the headlights instead of lowering them . I've considered changing the polarity in the switch but the voltages are not the same one as in the manual . regards

I understand you replaced them with same factory headlights ?
If thats the case, check both front and rear ride height sensors for damage and correct installation.

First time I see someone explain about the tilt % (great!)... I got some doubts... i got a Volvo S40 T5 2005 with Xenon lights as well, so we basically have the same pattern (from what I have seen).
On the vertical adjustment, you need to use the bottom pattern of the headlight (no matter if it is the right one or left one) to match to the markings right you put on the wall, right? (I ask as i noticed that the pattern is not even when both lights display it, shouldn't the passenger go a little higher, and start when there driver's side ended on the higher side to keep a consistent light, and not a lower light spot where they meet?)
On the horizontal adjustment, what is your reference? Is it where the point where the light starts going up on the pattern, right?

The lower ones should be for vertical always.
The passenger side should point a little to the right and up as well.
My reference is always the points i draw on the wall.

@@TheFlyingMechanicDIY thanks... So what about horizontal adjustment? I think my lights are all off...

Alejandro Vargas im showing at 2:15 the lateral adjustment screw .. u just have to center the lights again on the points drawn at the wall.

@@sagrav84 Both headlight are adjusted exactly the same.
For the vertical adjustment you align the lower part of the beam pattern at -1% for E-Code headlight, -0.7% for DOT VOL headlight, and the higher part of the beam pattern at 0% for DOT VOR headlights.
For the horizontal alignment, you put the angle between the lower part and the raised part of the cutoff straight ahead.
