It was nice to see Blip have a strong showing in round 1. Blip was so good in its first season, then it seemed like some tinkering actually detracted from its success. I think it can be a contender.
The Battle Bots people need to name that trophy in memory of Grant Imahara. The Grant Imahara Memorial Trophy. The absolute very least they could do... It's a crime they haven't already done it.
For that you'll need to contact the network. Battlebots is in a holding pattern until they get a green light from Discovery. Hiring Kenny for announcing work isn't cheap.
There should be serious points docked for running away from your opponent like that, if not disqualification. Needs to be more incentive to prevent garbage like that from happening.
Blip has better forks and either Whiplash had some drive issues or was so low to the floor it was getting stuck. There were multiple times where it just didn't or barely moved.
@@metal--babble346Whiplash is far from outdated like Nightmare or Biohazard, only reason it has been struggling recently is because of a tough fight schedule and it recently upgraded to brushless motors which has some gremlins. Lots of bots are upgrading to brushless.
Kenny took a break of his own accord bc he had a kid, not much they can do if he doesn't want to. Also this is old footage from a time he was around but didn't attend this event specifically. They have to milk old footage since the show is on a break waiting a new season
BB has stated the intention is for bots to defeat each other, and not by the arena. But the arena hazards do have to have *some* threat to them, it's part of BB's arena design philosophy. This was filmed some time back, and the rights to show it were only recently released back to BB. The corner gaps now have panels that make it harder for bots to wind up in them, but not impossible.

@ The G force shock is much harder on the opponent. Some times it even puts the kinetic weapon bots in a uncontrolled “dance” when they land on their weapon.
iono this would be way more interesting if it wasnt just freaking low profile flipping robots all the time. i mean if they put in a no low profile flip only robot rule it would be soo much better.

The need to update the BattleBots arena. They all seem fairly worthless and they need to remove the gap in the corner.
But the gap in the corner is so that flipper bots have a knockout potential.
