Intended as the first movement in a planned symphony but for some reason the plans never realized.

YES CHARLES YOUR CORRECT. THE CONCERT HALLS OF THE WORLD SHOULD BE PROSECUTED FOR STICKING TO A VERY FEW COMPOSERS AND NEGLECTING SO MAY EXCELLENT ONES. THE LAW SHOULD SAY THEY WILL PLAY AT LEAST 50 OF THE NEGLECTED WORKS EACH YEAR, OR THE CONCERT HALLS CLOSED & ORCHESTRAS DISBANDED.

@@steveegallo3384 They should be flogged to within an inch of their lives for not playin' 'em. But come to think of it, that might backfire coz it could be a more entertaining spectacle than the pieces being neglected would be if performed! And at the same time across the street, a performance one of the pieces the floggees haven't played!". ALL:"How much for a box seat at the flogging?". Ah the irony!

I really like this. Perhaps it's not great music, and the orchestration, though good is a little basic. But it's a fun, audience friendly piece with a wonderful forward momentum. I wish he'd written the other movements for this symphony, if they'd been as good as this it would have been worth getting to know.
