The beauty of a rustic farmhouse garden lies in its simplicity and charm. Using natural materials like wood, stone, and metal, you can create a timeless look that feels both cozy and inviting. Perfect for small spaces, this style embraces imperfection, making it easy to design a low-maintenance garden with high visual impact. Whether it’s a narrow side yard or a tucked-away corner, you’ll learn how to make every inch count by adding rustic touches and flourishing plants that thrive in your space.
Where should you start? Begin by planning your layout. Define pathways with gravel or stone, and choose a focal point like a weathered bench or a vintage planter. Add layers of greenery, from fragrant herbs like lavender and rosemary to vibrant flowers like daisies and hydrangeas. Vertical gardening, using trellises or wall-mounted planters, is a great way to maximize your space while maintaining the rustic charm. With just a few thoughtful choices, you can turn your side yard into a peaceful oasis.

What a lovely, charming house and little gardens! Thank you! THIS is what I have been seeking -- and tiny gardens, well done, are really difficult to find online.
I live in Zone 8b, but, we're in an appendage of the Mojave Desert, St George Utah.
If you come across any lovely examples of teeny spaces, planted, landscaped, hard scaped & greened-up, beautified, PLEASE share?
I have approx. 200 sq ft in an entry Garden space that's barren and a bicycle parking lot right now.
(Bikes aren't even being used!)
With planting areas and sidewalk -- I'd like to plant green walls, lay gravel and pavers, or decking? And seating (there's room), a light, water feature, 150 plants.
Then, I've a 7' narrow concrete, roofed patio attached to two sets of French doors (master suite + liv. rm.) w a pony wall.
I'd like to turn it into an oasis. I even thought of installing a mister and seating, etc., to handle moisture. It's 100°F+ here, 5 straight months of the year.
Any designers out there?
Love your channel, Miko House. Thx.
Thanks for the love! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video and found the tiny garden inspiration. I'll keep an eye out for more examples of teeny spaces and share them when I can!
