Hello, A-Sven-gers! Thanks for checking out my video on Game Pass Ultimate for the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PC and mobile devices. Currently, when registering for Xbox Game Pass Ulitmate Microsoft Xbox allows a conversion of one month of Xbox Live Gold to one month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Using CDKeys.com I purchased 36 months of Xbox Live Gold and spent the $1 Game Pass Ultimate upgrade fee to get 3 years of Game Pass Ultimate on my Xbox Series X, Xbox One and mobile phone.
Game Pass Ultimate has an enormous list of classic franchises such as Halo, Fable, Gears of War, Forza, Doom and with EA Play access to titles like Dead Space, FIFA, NHL & Madden NFL it's certainly difficult to not subscribe if you have an Xbox console. If you had a console, signed for Ulitmate and logged in on PC I believe it would work; that said, I'm not sure what offers are available when accessing the Microsoft Store on a PC 🤔
@@SvennyMcG im about to off myself i bought game pass ultimate two months in a row and on the begging of the second month about 20 mins ago charged me for another month so i turned off reoccurring payment and they took the gamepass ultimate away from my account which is illegal first off without even refunding the money

PCWorld published an article in November 2022 indicating that the offer was still active 👍
They do note that there seems to be talk that "Xbox Live Gold" may go away in the future in favour of a "Game Pass only" format but at this time it's still available 😊

Yes, otherwise you're stacking Gold on top of Game Pass Ultimate and it stacks at a different ratio (ex 3 month Gold will now be 1 month GPU). Let the trial complete, add your Gold and then convert 👍
After purchasing the game pass card,when does the code expire? If needed to wait a few days for current game pass subscription to end then redeem the new one
Once you cancel it may take until month end; I'd look in the new month for the offer to come available

I'd check to see if the $1 Game Pass offer is available in your region - looks like Game Pass Ultimate is available in India so I'd look for the $1 offer on your console

Gonna try this when my gamepass comes around again. Make sure to cancel auto recurring payments. If you cancel the game pass, does it revert to gold of to silver membership, if that's even relevant?
Hi! You're absolutely right, need to turn off recurring payments if you don't want to pay full price at the end of your session.
The way the language reads, no, you can't go back to Gold during the membership; once it concludes, if recurring billing is off, you'll need to manually sign up for Gold again is my interpretation

Yeahhhhh im getting verification issues and it auto canceled my order, tried Bestbuy and CdKeys, and it all did the same to me. Big freaking hassle for some reason. Idk if it's the web browser or what, because I used this _C.C._ on online purchases before, Netflix, Paramount +,Hulu,HBO, Showtime, Mercury ins. Etc.etc. It's aggravating because it should be easy, and yet it's a "big to due" about something that should be minuscule.

That ratio is in effect once you already have Game Pass Ultimate; if you did this conversion and now had Game Pass but add on Xbox Live Gold to lengthen it then it does it at a reduced conversion. You'd be best to let it expire completely and do this method fresh again

Theres a 3 dollar discount for xbox game pass and i saw it on my Alt xbox acc and when i went on my Main to buy it, it doesnt give me the discount and i was thinking what if i put my credit card address on the alt xbox account, will it know that i bought it before and change and say 39$ rather than 3$
I'm not sure - the main issue, of course, is that you'll have the Game Pass tied to your other account instead of your primary one
The only thing I don't understand is how people are saying to have saved so much money. At $12.29 for 3 months, making it about $50 with the $1 conversion rate, wouldn't you be saving only $10 over the $60 yearly Ultimate subscription?
In Canada, Game Pass Ultimate is $16.99 a month whereas Xbox Live Gold is $11.99 a month. $5/month savings over 36 months gives you $180 savings ($179 actually, factoring in the $1 conversion).
Where are you seeing Game Pass Ultimate for $60 annually?

So even here if Game Pass Ultimate is $16.99 x 36 months = $611.64, doing the conversion of Xbox Live Gold at $60 x 3 years (36 months) = $180 plus $1 transfer, at $611.64 - $181.00 you're saving $430.64 over the next 3 years 💥

I believe if you stacked using Gold through the Microsoft Store it would work but I haven't tried - can you subscribe in advance or is it month-to-month through the Microsoft Store?
I didn't get physical cards but bought my codes digitally online through CDKeys (link in video description)
@@SvennyMcG I was doing month to month on auto-billing payments kinda like Netflix, but I turned it off yesterday to let it expire on this coming Sunday, 1/21/23. I don't remember if Microsoft store through xbox live has digital cards with numbers, i think it might be direct transfer since it's in house, but im gonna check it out first(I'm in US btw west coast). I think when i first did it, it was when Outer Worlds came out, so it was around October 24, 2019, but I just upgraded xbgold via the 1$ first month of gamepass on the xbox, and didn't use a code, and I'm pretty sure it prorated it, and didn't convert. Every video sofar has used third party digital codes for it to work, so it's probably safe to say, to do it that way.
Yeah that makes sense that Gold through the store is month to month. You can certainly buy physical cards to redeem at a local store but online you can generally find them at a discount

Hi, sorry to hear. If you have Game Pass and then add Xbox Live Gold it will convert at a ratio less than 1:1. For example, 3 months Xbox Live Gold converts to 50 days of Game Pass Ultimate.

The $1 promo no longer exists and requires $15 for a conversion but it still works out to a good deal. The other concern is I don't believe you can register Xbox Live Gold on a PC

Good question 🤔 Hoping someone will give you a direct answer. I can confirm my live gold was in 3 month installments for a total of 36 months through cdkeys then I used the Microsoft Store to convert
So Spenny, my GPU expired a weeks back after having the sweet deal for 3 years.
Can I buy 3 x 1 year Gold and then use a one month GPU @ say $16 for the same deal do you think?

That is a very specific detail that I am unsure of - obviously while the $1 was a trial it simply converted but the $16 is supposedly 1 month; you can at least try the 36 months and when you go to load the GPU it will prompt you before purchase as to when thr expiry date is. In the video I did the conversion when it was $1 for 3 months and they actually honoured it beyond the 36 months (again, dates are in the video).
So you will likely get a prompt saying it will convert all 36 months, that you can't as it will exceed 36 months or it will give you 37 months GPU. If you can't exceed 36 months, play Xbox Live Gold games for 1 month, get the games with Gold etc, then next month at 35 months do the conversion which will bring you back to 36 months. If you try it let me know how it goes!

If you're stacking for the 3 year maximum, yes, turn it off or else you'll be prevented from optimizing 👍

Yes, I would wait. If you add Gold now it converts at a ratio of 3:1, so if you add 3 months of Gold now it's valued at 50 days Ultimate; adding 12 months Gold equates to 4 months Ultimate.
Start over and get the full value of your Gold 👍

I don't think you can switch - let the current amount pass then add Xbox Live Gold. If you add it now it will only lengthen your current subscription

I do use Game Pass on my Android phone as well but I signed up as shown in the video. I'm not sure how you would buy and activate Gold if not through the Microsoft Store and then utilize the $1 conversion offer

I haven't yet attempted to but from what I have seen online yes, as long as the offer is available to you. You may have to let it fully expire and wait a month but it should be feasible. Even in the video you'll see I had Game Pass previously but did do the offer 👍
I did this a few years ago and it definitely does work. My question is, how can I make it work a second time? Is it just a one-off?
If the offer is presented to you to join for $1 I am under the impression that you can. In the video you can see I had Game Pass (trials) that show expired and I was able to do this. Not exactly the same but having had Game Pass before doesn't seem to be an issue

Yes and no - you *can* add more Gold after the conversion but it doesn't go 1:1 anymore but rather at a lesser ratio - for example, 12 months Gold = 4 months Ultimate.
You are better off to either max out the 3 years (36 months) up front, or else let the 1 year you have complete and fully expire and do it over again 👍

That's correct, if you let it complete and start over adding Xbox Live Gold first and converting to Game Pass it will again be a 1:1 ratio so 12 months Gold will become 12 months Game Pass 😊👍

You can convert one month to 36 months; once you convert you'll need to let it go through and expire before adding on any further.
*you technically can add on more but it's not then at a 1:1 ratio so it's better to wait and redo it

Sadly it seems this had been changed a couple days ago, as of a couple days ago, this no longer has been working….. it’s now 15 dollars Everytime you make a new account instead of 1 dollar

Will you be able to convert your remaining EA play membership to Game pass ultimate or you do you need to use gold membership to convert?
You *can* convert EA Play to Game Pass Ultimate but it does it at a different ratio than Xbox Live Gold so be aware. Per EA's site, "[EA Play will be] converted to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate time at a ratio of 3:1. That means if you have 90 days left on your EA Play for Xbox membership, it’ll convert to 30 days of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate."

In the video I converted 1:1, I loaded all 36 months of Gold and received 36 months in Game Pass [actually 38 months in game pass due to a 2-month bonus available at the time of filming]
Wait a minute you can do the same by buying ea membership instead that cost only 30$ per year
That's correct, but Microsoft put a fix to that so it converts at a 3:1 ratio. 3 months of EA Play would become 1 month of Game Pass Ultimate.

This will give you Ultimate, which works on PC, but you may need a console to enter the Xbox Live Gold and do the conversion

As many as you want! You can do as much as 36 months (3 years) maximum but you can do as little as 1 month if you like

The Game Pass Ulitmate upgrade should convert all Xbox Live Gold months; that said, always read the fine print 👍
I had a trial of Game Pass previously but as shown in the video the $1 pass was valid with enough time lapsed
My PC gamepass expired 2 months back. Can I use the same trick on that account? I just play on PC.
I'd look and see what offers are in front of you for Game Pass. In the video you'll see that I too previously had Game Pass but it shows expired and I was able to do this given that the $1 Game Pass option was available 👍

Unfortunately I'm unsure of PC constraints as I used Xbox Live Gold on my console to achieve it. My understanding is if you used a console to unlock Ultimate you can use the account on your PC but I haven't tried using a PC to register it initially. I'd look into it further before proceeding with any purchases 👍

I can't personally confirm but from what I've heard yes, you can. You may need to let it fully expire to have the $1 Game Pass option be made available again

3 months Gold will convert to 3 months Game Pass when you do the conversion qs shown.
If you have Game Pass and add Gold then it becomes a lesser ratio, like 3 months Gold = 1 month Game Pass.
So better to stock up at the start or do the conversion and let it wholly expire before starting again as add-ons during a Game Pass membership are worth less.

If you head to the community posts on my channel I just posted 3 photos from the FAQ section of Game Pass Ultimate on my Xbox Series X. It indicates that the conversion is still valid

Yes! The max conversion is 36 months / 3 years but there is no minimum. One year Gold will convert to 1 year Ultimate 👍

Can I do the conversion multiple times? For example get 1 year and then add onto that if I change my mind and want to do the full 36 months?
When you convert Xbox Live Gold to Game Pass Ultimate it's a 1:1 ratio at that time; if you add Xbox Live Gold afterwards it then converts at a 4:1 ratio per Xbox's guidelines.
You'd need to let your Game Pass fully expire and start again
See if I already have Xbox live for 3 months and then buy 3 months x3 of Xbox live will this still work ?
Based on what you're saying yes, that's essentially what I did. I used Xbox Live Gold 3-month codes and stacked them to 36 months, then converted it all to Game Pass Ultimate. In your case you have 3 months so adding 3x more 3-Month codes will provide 12 months; convert that and you'll have 1-year of Game Pass Ultimate 👍

Between accounts may be tricky, I'm going to lean towards no but I can't confirm that for you. I can confirm that other users on my system do not have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and cannot play the games unless using my account

Thanks for the support! Last confirmation was in May or June, check the pinned post I try to keep that updated. I have no reason to believe it won't still work but I know Xbox Live Gold is being discontinued soon. Will Xbox pulls back the plan on people like Sony did for those that stacked PS Plus passes, I can't say for sure

Yes, someone just confirmed today that it still works 👍 You have to pay the $15 instead of $1 but it will still convert any Xbox Live Gold you have loaded on

Yes, just not active at the time of doing it. In the video I show that I had Game Pass Ultimate previously but it was inactive when I started adding the Xbox Live Gold codes

Retail price of Xbox Live Gold is $70 for a year, so $210 for 36 months. The Game Pass Ultimate will be a one-time cost of $15.99 (here in Canada). Total $226 for 3 years.
GPU is $16/mth x 36 months = $576.
Savings = $350 over 3 years.

You can't add on at this time, I don't believe, but if your current Game Pass Ultimate expires you can do this.
You'll see in the video when I go to "Subscription" that I did have Game Pass at one point but as it was expired I was eligible for the offer 👍

PLEASE READ THIS UPDATE: the last confirmation in comments was May 26, 2023 (I will revise where possible). Since then, many of you are commenting that the conversion is gone. I don't believe this is true as the FAQ section of Game Pass Ultimate on my Xbox Series X confirms this ( *Go to my RUclips channel community section to see a post with screenshots confirming Gold converts 1:1 when grabbing Game Pass Ultimate* ).
What may be gone is the $1 option - but if you maxed out your Xbox Live Gold $15 spread over 36 months is still affordable and still a better deal that subscribing to Game Pass Ultimate monthly 🎮

Yes, that's my understanding, the conversion trick will work but you'll pay the €12.99 instead of €1. Overall, not bad spending the additional €13 to convert 36 months isn't so bad

After doing some maths, the Ultimate 36-month subs would come at €468 but doing the Gold Live 3x12-month cards comes at €164. That means €300 savings, amazing!! Hi! No, I first redeemed Xbox Live Gold for 36 months (at a rate less than $15 / month). I then paid $1 to convert the Xbox Live Gold into Game Pass. Doing this saved a lot of money 👍

Well there is game pass core. I think it works with that.
I guess I'm so just old fashioned. I believe in paying for services rendered. For me gamepass ultimate is worth every bit of 14.95 a mounth. I don't feel the need to screw anybody out of there bottom line.
I hear you and respect what you're saying but I don't feel anyone is getting taken on here, including Microsoft. I paid for 36 months of Xbox Live Gold and received 36 months of Xbox Live Gold. Microsoft offers a promotion and I purchased it. I didn't ask Microsoft to convert all 36 months to Game Pass Ultimate nor did I do anything underhanded in my agreement when purchasing, they simply did it. The fact that I saved money is a bonus but it's hardly taking anything from anyone.

Yes, you can convert your Xbox Gold Live months at a ratio of 1:1.
If you're paying Xbox Live Gold monthly through the Microsoft Store then it will convert this month and pay regular Game Pass fees next month
Just want to report that this still works. I took it a step further and used Turkey Xbox Live Gold Keys for $33.99 x 3 + $14.99 for Utlimate so I now have Game Pass Ultimate for $3.25 a month for 36 months good until 5/7/2026. Just use a VPN to active the Turkey Codes on your phone on the Microsoft Site.
