No, you don't. It's pointless setting your fps to 120 on a series x/s if your monitor isn't above 60hz, as the refresh rate is the maximum amount of frames per second your display can render.
That’s why the Xbox series X is the best. It performs 120+ FPS and at 1440p quality. At 2K it performs 70-100 FPS. Even at late time it doesn’t drop more than 60 FPS.
A couple weeks back i faced a very minor fps drop that went minimum only 50 fps but now it is stable and doesnt even drops 1 fps even in mega city its 60 fps all the time. I just unplugged the machine and plugged it again i also took out the hdmi cable plugged it back in. Try this it might help
Spend $300 on a slower, worse performing PS4? Nah. Spend the scalper price of around $550-600 on a DIGITAL PS5 just to get the same resolution, fps, some better graphics I won’t even notice, have to buy my entire game library again on PlayStation, and have to get used to a new controller all because my Xbox couldn’t run fortnite correctly? Bro it happens to me all the time in pubs as soon as i get off the bus i tried changing the display settings but it still happens. But maybe turning off motion blur will help because it doesnt happen much anymore ever since i turned it off
Completely shut down your Xbox then hold down the power and sync buttons until you hear two hums that will activate safe mode your controller power button should me glowing red then hit reset in settings (your console will ask either keep games or full whip I’d recommend keeping your games) all this does is shorten any unwanted files or data you don’t need this will improve smoothness and graphics 😁

This was confirmed as a optimisation bug in the game , no hardware issue or in this case your Xbox.

Tips: go to settings set the hz to 120. Enable 120 fps mode in fortnite. Make it from 4k 120 fps to 1080p 120fps
