For some reason Guru Ant's rapping is super catchy as soon as he starts getting scared. Scared rapping.... hmmm... maybe Guru Ant is on to something! Cause that part is stuck in my head o.o
If you look closely when Guru Ant and PaRappa say "Man" in Lesson 3. Their mouths make a shape as if they were saying "Lord", which was there in the original song.
Exactly, the original lyrics outside of american countries the lyrics were lord. But since the esrb thought it was a religion reference, it was censored
Guru Ant was always my favourite teacher in the whole game. Never, truly, got up to him myself, but I watched my friend play the game, and she got to this level, and the first time I saw him, I thought the absolute world of him. I always thought that he was so cool!
The song has a subtext about leadership and the problems of life when you're small the problems of the world seem just as small and easily solvable. However as you grow you find that the problems you face grow more vast and complicated and there won't always be a clear answers. So to best handle them it's best to grow at your own pace. A great small leader doesn't always make a good big one
limitations from game consoles is what stood out to me with games, they're so unique, espcieally when they max out the graphics and cpu just to run on older consoles to run smoothly
I love how when Guru Ant says “I don’t know what to do It’s all because of you” the player can see he’s referring to Ma-san while Parappa thinks he is referring to him.
I use to play this over and over again like 18 yrs ago not knowing what the hell was going on, skipping the cut scenes n just vibing to all the songs & this one was always my favorite 😭😭😭😭 Everything.
The pacing in this song is so well done, it’s really amazing, I love the transition between the slower, more chill track sticking to the rhythm, changing to the more frantic, fast paced track with more offbeats
+TheLuigi755 I'm glad they didn't though. It would be stupid to change something like 2 pairs of giant legs just because someone can say they loosely resemble the twin towers.
One day a developer will deign to find this blessed community of Nostalgia gamers and deliver us a product that makes us feel this way again. Don't you hope?

You know, I just realized, in the track of this song that I got from Galbadia Hotel, Guru ant says "I am the lord, everybody knows my name" With Parappa responding with "You are the lord, everybody knows your name" But in the game, its "I am the man" Hm hm hm, I "wonder" why..~ ;o
For the US release there couldn't be any negative prospectives on religion or else the game would've gotten a teen rating. Gru calling himself the lord was seen as offensive content for...some reason..
freeteeth a big part of Christianity is accepting that there is only one god, and no other like him, his name is also like..sacred or something...? Not sacred but like, it’s sapposed to only refer to him and nobody else So it can’t be used in vain Someone else claiming that they are “the lord” gose against this Rather then “a lord” which I’m not sure would be any better This is my unorthadoxed exsplenation
Interesting. Beyond the “religious censorship”, I think changing it to “man” makes more sense since “I am the man” is an actual English phrase associated with hip-hop culture.
Apparently, according to a conversation my friend had with Guru Ants voiceactor (Dean Bowman), when he auditioned for Guru Ant, he didnt really expect to be such a well loved character because he only saw his voiceacting job as a simple, small gig 😭
By the looks of it the original Parappa the Rapper uses animated textures on polygonal models, while Parappa the Rapper 2 only uses polygonal animation.
Lol, true, but I meant in the level. Speaking of which, the song that plays during Stage 8's cut scene is cool - Come A Long Way. I might upload it eventually...
I thought I was the only one that got this song stuck in their head. I love the transition and background samples when it goes from lesson 1 to lesson 2. I would repeat them forever if I could. You're pretty mature than I thought!

Because it's awesome.

It's kind of funny that the Guru Ant lost his cool when he turns big.
When you go from good to cool, he says "I can't take it no more, I need to get out of here, you're on your own!"
then he floats off in a zen pose and returns later in parappas house.
inkiidonut
Then wtf did he look at Parappa’s belongings or something?
Guru Ant before: **chill**
Guru Ant now: “holy shit, call for help you furry”
That's the joke

Yeah and Guru ant getting scared is like when hitting puberty and don't know what's happening to you're body.
