Kawasan Falls, the world-famous waterfall in Badian town, southwestern Cebu, will welcome tourists again after nearly two years of rehabilitation.
The Cebu Provincial Government announced that preparations have been underway for the reopening of the Kawasan Falls, which is slated this Thursday, October 26.
This means that canyoneering activities in the falls, as well as in Matutinao River, will also resume.
The Kawasan Falls was one of the many tourist attractions that were badly hit by Typhoon Odette (international name: Rai) in 2021.
In the aftermath of Odette, the provincial government decided to keep falls off limits to the public, with canyoneering activities limited in certain areas in the Matutinao River.
Flash floods and strong winds have altogether altered the falls’ typography, leading experts to conduct months-long safety assessments.
Kawasan has been hailed as one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the country and has won countless awards and accolades over the years.

True story. Went there around 18 years ago. Came back, put the house up for sale. Sold everything I had for pennies on the dollar. Bought a One Way ticket back to the Philippines. Back in America now. With a Philippina Wife. Best thing I've ever done in my entire life. Wonderful Island's. Wonderful People. Horrible Government.

Very nice footage. What do you mean by "the 3-hour kawasan adventure ends here"? Did you do the canyoneering, or just explore the 1st level waterfall only by spending 3-hour there?
Thank you. Tourists are only allowed to explore the 1st level for 3 hours limit. For canyoneering activities has different rules

How is the road going there
At the time of visit, the entrance fee cost ₱200 for 3 hours only. From the main highway you need to walk at least 20-40 minutes before you reach Kawasan Falls.
