I very much disagree that baptism is your sign to the church. It’s a proclamation to the world that you accept salvation. If you are only getting baptized to show the church you aren’t doing it for the right reasons. 36:28

Yeah, I felt weird about that too. Baptism is a choice, you should be able to make that choice first then let God fix you in the process.

I agree with Pastor Doug about smoking and baptism 🙏🏻I was a smokers and coffee drinker and he cleansed me over night but I know some might be longer but while a person is studying the Bible if a person is serious about repenting the Lord will get rite of it 🙏🏻 also what Pastor Doug said about when we stand with truth we find unity. Let’s not unite by compromising truth. Easier to unite in truth 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

"The days are coming," declares the Sovereign LORD, "when I will send a famine through the land-- not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD. Men will stagger from sea to sea and wander from north to east, searching for the word of the LORD, but they will not find it. (AMOS 8:11-8)

      And what does it mean?
What would that many, in having the word of God, are actually still devoid of experiencing the joys of having salvation-what Christ calls having a wellspring of life?
It's because of putting trust in rituals, rules, metaphors, and not maturing past such childish things. Or it's because they go to someone in authority to tell them the answer without inquiring as to why it is so.
Paul says the mature are those who develop by practice to discern the right from the wrong. That means they rightly are able to divide out truth from falsehood by measuring it against God's word, God's testable laws in science and nature, and thus they have a personal experience for themselves of knowing right from wrong.
Ellen White, in Testimonies to the Church at Battle Creek, brilliantly outlines the immature in Christ with the following words.
“The evidence in their minds then is positive that it is all of no account whatever. This class is not small; yet for all their numbers are large, it does not change the fact that they are weak-minded through long yielding to the enemy, inexperienced, and will always be sickly as babes, walking by others' light, living on others' experience, feeling as others feel, acting as others act. They act as though they had not an individuality. Their identity is submerged in others. They are merely shadows of others whom they think about right. These will all fail of everlasting life unless they become sensible of their wavering character, and correct it. They will be unable to cope with the perils of the last days. They will possess no stamina to resist the Devil; for they do not know that it is he. Some one must be at their side to inform them whether it is a foe approaching, or a friend. They are not spiritual, therefore spiritual things are not discerned. They are not wise in those things which relate to the kingdom of God. None, young or old, are excusable in trusting to another to have an experience for them. Said the angel, "Cursed is man who trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm." A noble self-reliance is needed in the Christian experience and warfare.” PH097 18.1

Pastor Doug has been such a help for me, I’ve learned a lot throughout my years. I’m just a few minutes in and I love his faithfulness to God already. Not afraid to be his convicted self. His love for Jesus is above his love to self, and it is evident. God continue blessing him!

I saw a sermon where he said he was still smoking when he was baptized and a Pastor told him after that he had to quit smoking. Nothing was mentioned about his daughter. Strange.

What do you mean his daughter?

@kita3256 in this sermon he said he quit smoking because of his daughter. In a different sermon he said some other situation motivated him. I don't remember which sermon I've watched so many. It just seemed strange.
