OMG This brings embarrassing memories! In 2nd grade we were watching this in class, I was dressed in a pink and purple frilly dress. At this part, I started dancing and singing this song, after that everyone stared at me and called me Georgette until the end of fourth grade! If I didn't move to Methuen, they'd still be calling me Georgette! XD
Wow, what a gorgeous voice she has! Georgette is a cute character. "Not for my vanity - but for humanity." lol! I know this is only a cartoon movie, but seeing this makes me think of the media and girls, with our constant fight to make ourselves look "perfect" to everyone. I think that every girl has a certain image of herself or goal that she strives towards... and this song really exemplifies how much time and energy girls put into making themselves look "perfect."

What a transition! disney changed to such a modern beautiful animation (that we know OR at least used to) from a beautiful yet old time animation. Right after Fox and the Hound and Black Cauldron it happened, then Great Mouse Detective and Oliver came out, it was a new style

At 1:24 there's an empty pillow, and then suddenly at 1:26 there's a portrait. O: But anyways, Bette Midler is AMAZING in Oliver & Company. I love Georgette so much, she cracked me up as a kid.
I do a ton of theature, and if they EVER do oliver and company, I'm totally being Georgette. I'm nothing like this, but it would be so much fun! To bad I sing like a dying goat....

I noticed that too... lol i love how they did that. even in the beginning when her hair looked all frizzy, her hair... for a second.. becomes classical.. but then wvoom, it's her ears.. lol very clever. xD
