Tairrie B was the lead singer of Tura Satana......She started her career as a rapper, after Manhole she created My Ruin and released a lot of albums, then went back to rapping and now she kinda does whatever she wants :-)

you mentioned Tura Santana I saw them live back in early 98 just when they changed their name from Manhole and yeah QueenAdreena does sound like Tura Santana in a way as both were around at roughly the same time

It's a shame Tura Satana didn't last long, I really enjoyed their stuff, I still listen to Relief through release regularly.

If you want to freak yourself out (and of course you do) check out her other project Ruby Throat. Pure vocals with an extreme ethereal Pagan theme, it's genuinely remarkable. I recommend getting The Ventriloquist, locking yourself in a dark room, and using headphones. You can thank me later.

Yeah, I like to think that the title is supposed to be meant as how addictive and unhealthy celebrity worship culture, as in "I'm pretty much like drugs"; There's a weird cultish devotion that builds up around some people, whether they intend it to or not.
The 'DrinkMe' album isn't my favourite, I prefer 'Taxidermy', but it's grown on me over time. Something about the production quality and song structures doesn't seem like them, too directed by the label.
