The sound of the cornet section is amazing, led by a brilliant principal! I love the nods of appreciation that is thrown around the band throughout the performance - what a team!
The sound in between the bands sections (Soprano/Alt/Tenor/Bass/Percussion) is soooooo amazing, organlike, it does not go any better!!! - Huge congrats!
From the Uk.I agree this band is in top form right now. They will take some beating.Would like to see them compete in the British Open 2024 against the top British Bands.
I am so glad to have found this on RUclips as I was privileged to be a personal friend of George Lloyd and his delightful wife Nancy. I have met many outstanding musicians but George was the most talented of them all.. As to English Heritage I recall George responding to complaints that his Royal Parks composition was not sufficiently difficult for championship level bands. The response was to write English Heritage. By the way I have scores for all of George's music for brass .and will get out English heritage to follow next time I listen to this excellent performance.
Such a nice story and great memory for you! May i ask if you have those scores on paper or maybe also digital? I would love to have those aswell! Masterpieces
With the form that this band is in right now, if they keep it up, i really cant see anyone coming close to them at EBBC 2024. First of all the technical ability of the players in this band can not be found elsewhere, and the band is so finely screwed together!
