- This is the complete liveset of DJ Tiesto at Energy 2000, 31-12-1999 in The Netherlands, Eindhoven, Beursgebouw. It was a special party held by ID&T for the millennium new year's eve. Some people consider this set as Tijs Verwest's breakthrough as DJ Tiesto.
Many years ago I merged the two livesets creating one complete set. Due to low sound recording, I've added +2Db to the entire track.
To me this is the best liveset ever and when looking for it on RUclips, I found some video's claiming to have the complete set, but none truly were. This one is the complete set! With the following tracks:

Back in the 90's people weren't filming everything on their phones and then immediately uploading it to Facebook/social media so no one give a fuck about what they were doing or how they were reacting to the music, people just let go of their inhibitions and just went into their trance-zone.
Whereas today everyone thinks their Kim-fucking-Kardashian and is wired so fricking tight that they are too scared to relax as they're more worried about how they'll look on Facebook than they are of just having a good time. I would also hazard-a-guess that the music of today is reflective of that.

This set still kicks ass, the same way it kicked ass back then. The late 90's was THE era of awesome dance music! I still love listening to this today. Brings back good old memories from the late 90's when names like Ferry Corsten, Judge Jules, Tiesto, AVB, Talla 2XLC, Carl Cox, PvD ruled the dancefloor!

To be honest, i like the original version of direct dizko more then sander van doorn's remix.
@@candesco Sander's tech remasters aren't always catchy. Some of them don't hold much feeling besides beating to the bassline.
@@candesco And still... I appreciate the SvD remix better. WOuldn't have fit in this set thanks to the sound difference... but SvD's version is still kinda timeless while this version is epic but old.

I downloaded this set off of Napster in college. Some random kid on my floor told me to check out Dj Tiesto, and after listening to the set I was just amazed. I started downloading any In Search of Sunrise sets, any Magick sets. I was absolutely addicted to his trance sets. I saw him play a live vinyl set in Chicago in 2002 and was just blown away. Since then, its been an absolute journey into trance music by the likes of Sasha, Digweed, JOC, PVD, ATB, Oakenfold,......but nothing and I mean nothing can come close to the nostalgiac feeling I get listening to this set and how it perfectly embodied the sense of opportunity and future I had in my life

As a trancefan this trance classic set still grabs me by the balls, so timeless it is after 2 decades! in my opinion the best trance was made between 1997-2003, the time the dj's had to establish their names in the dancescene. once they did and when they belong to the big guys they had to reinvent themselves and the old trancesound was no longer there. its a shame, but there's nothing to do about it.

I'm almost 42 now and I'm listening to completely different music now. This set brings me back to my youth. I hear and feel like I'm 20 at the party with my buddies. That time was great. I love this set.
Simply put, this set makes me cry! But simple is not easy. Those men and women who were part of this historical set are the last lot of lucky people on earth. Technically the most perfect dj set.
This was before money took priority... it was all about the crowds and music. I miss these extraordinary days!

I added +6Db to the bass on my end, set the equalizer to powerful (raises the mid and highs) and cranked volume till things started to vibrate, unfortunately my neighbor threw a brick through my window so they could hear it better.

This is, quite literally, the set that got me into trance. I remember downloading it off Napster and then being just absolutely hooked to it. A music you could just let your mind drift off to and feel the energy of the music flow through you. I couldn't imagine seeing this live. I caught Tiesto only 2 times in my life and both were in the 2010s. He was more into his Big Room House sound, and while I actually like some of it, it definitely lacks that trance magic of the original Tiesto.

I downloaded this set off napster back in the day. Ive seen Tiesto, Ferry, George Acosta, Armin, PvD even Oakenfold... this is the BEST trance mix of all time. Hands down.
Reading all these comments is indescribable. After all these years, you all bring me back to that feeling the first time I heard it. This set saved my life, it changed my life in every way! To be connected with you all still, 20 years and so far away, never having met you in person, gives me such a deep visceral feeling of unity and hope! I have been having a hard time lately, with the world and my faith in it...I would like to think the love I feel right now is shared by all of you, if only for the simplest of reasons, and that this could be why we all were touched so viscerally by one specific point in time and space, to remember what we are, and how beautiful we once were and can be again! From this until his 2004 Tiësto in Concert I consider his absolute glory years. So many brilliant sets and productions/remixes (with his producer team).

Ive been raving since the late 90s and running marathons to this exact set for the last 12 years. Still one of my favorites.
I've got a Gareth Emery and Avicii mix for marathons... finishing with Findal Countdown. BUT I shall try this. I feel like I'll be floating like on clouds!

Yep - still on! The problem is - we are getting older - but we party the same music. My son - now 12 - is just wondering. He doesn't even know partys without cruelness or totally drunken people. We were drunk (my opinion), but we were not punching people without a less . Normaly Trance keeps together - today they didn't know any more. So raise your "old" legs - we keep this spirit alive! I dropped something... my jaw. This set is an immaculate sign of a wonderful time never forgotten. One of the best classic trance sets I've ever heard, and I cannot understand why today, 23 years later, is the first time this set crosses my ears.

I am 38 years old and was about 16 years old the first time i heard this. I am still amazed at how great this set is. Takes me right back to my teens!
I heard this set for the first time in 2003, I was 14yo, this brought me to become a DJ and making my own trance music, when I'm listening to this, I feel like I'm getting fillfull of energy to LIVE and a mega kick of motivation to DO, to make more, better, higher. I agree this is one of the best live sets ever created. Thanks to Napster, my college roommates and I played this set obsessively back in Room 503 of Thurston Hall at The George Washington University, circa September 2000. Amazing. Our neighbors probably hated us because we played it to all hours of the night with strobe light and glow sticks to boot. Ah...good times.

Summer 2001, I just recorded this set on a cassette and listened to it over and over in my Walkman, and after 23 years I'm holding the same Walkman in my hand and the cassette is still in it. I couldn't believe that I would ever see the Tracklist, you don't know how happy I am, thank you very much

In 2018 i am still listening to this. I remember that i was 18 when this came out. I was recording it on tape because it was live on the radio. Shiverz all over, even after 18 years. I miss this time so much ...... This set is legendary, for me personally it is the 2nd best set ever played. My #1? Tiesto Live at Innercity 1999. Find it and enjoy, that set was the breakthrough for Tiesto.

Manual sequencing and altering of the sound board to get the effects with manual style adjustment and bpm conversion... That's what made the feeling organic. Not the digital shit that makes the sets "a show" these days. DJ's actually used to work for their millions.
