I love how you said that connecting with a spirit can be just to spend time with them and that it's nothing more than that. I feel like that is often what it is for me- I'm not asking for anything except to feel their presence. And I love what you said about a spell on the fly can be the most powerful. I agree. I had to run to an appointment recently and I threw a cup of wine on my ancestor altar and asked my grandmother to help me (took all of 15 seconds to do) and it went so smoothly (when in the past trying to get the thing I needed to happen was bumpy). I would love for you to talk more on your journey as a witch and growing up catholic/Christian. I am too and am now diving into folk craft, seeing where I fit best. Would love to hear how you put this into practice too and work with the two what seems like complete opposites! (Even though they aren’t, but that’s a very specific nuanced convo)
I'm Ukrainian Catholic and I alo practice as a witch. The more you learn, you will see many similarities. Both are very ritualistic, traditional, natural. Both incorporate "bless" objects into practice (e.g. holy water vs. moon water). Both use similar forms of purification (e.g. incense). Both use a lot of symbolism. Both beleive in additional senses. Both use meditation, and types of prayer. I could go on. I would love to see someone cover the "Catholic Witch" subject.
Very informative. I'm one of those that I either make it or put together a notebook with information gathered online or I order from Amazon and Etsy. I don't have a local bookstore and the library here doesn't carry witch oriented books. I would love an area to walk through like you have.
