My question is on the double on use trinkets:
Considering our entire damage profile is around our burst windows and kingsbane, would it not be beneficial to have a second on use trinket to buff the intermediate burst window (KB without DM)? Say, witherbarks for DM windows and ashes for every orther kingsbane cycle? Obviously it puts the other trinket on CD, but that window is only 30 seconds. Would be great to get your input on this. Thanks mate!
No, awful idea
On use trinkets are balanced around being used with your big cooldown windows, like your 2 min with Deathmark, that’s what makes branch and ashes good
Your non deathmark kingsbanes do terrible damage in comparison, which hurts the value of a second on use trinket significantly
Never ever use double on use trinkets

Great guide! Can ya help me out here I like the timers on the hot bars showing how much time is left on the debuff. Can anyone help me out to grab just that potion of the UI?
the timers on the hotbars? The hotbars are standard blizzard UI. The block above that is weakauras, the nameplate on the enemy target is plater. My entire UI is uploaded to wago.io/p/whispyr
Great video! outside of KB what do you do to maintain damage? I do the full opener and get to about 300k dps and then I fall off into the 130-150k range and it seems like I'm missing something or not using something important
part of that is just how it is. Big burst means you're not going to be doing a lot outside of the burst. If you're wondering what to do between bursts, you would want to sustain your bleeds and chain envenoms. I have a video on pooling that released at the same time as this one if you're trying to see more about that, and the wowhead guide has an in depth written section on pooling in the rotation guide

Couple questions.. 1) Does Envenom apply any lethal poisons on use, and therefore increase your kings bane stack or is it just from the envenom buff? 2) Why does double on use suck if the second (say Ashes) comes off its ICD in time for your 2nd/4th/6th Kingsbane (the one without death mark). Surely the buff its applying to kings bane. Wouldn't that buff to your kings bane be worth it over a passive?
Also just wanted to say thank you for these awesome guides both on wowhead and here. Watched some of your streams and really helping me time my CDs on fights such as Tindral with the accelerated opener! Would love a comprehensive CD timing guide for the raid bosses.
envenom is a hit, and thus has a chance to apply lethal poisons, like any other hit. Same with garrote, rupture, both hits of mutilate, ambush, shiv, kingsbane itself, as well as all auto attacks and hits from windfury totem.
because the non-deathmark kingsbane is really garbage, and buffing it is simply not worth it compared to taking a passive trinket that gives stats constantly. On use stat trinkets like ashes/branch are tuned specifically around them being used to full cooldowns. If you don't use them with full cooldowns, they lose an insane amount of value
also with the cd timings for the raid bosses I've thought about it but it would end up being basically just me saying "use on cooldown" 25 times, with the odd "hold it for like 10 seconds cause you have an intermission coming up"

Hello papa whispyr, I noticed you said that we can just macro ashes into kingsbane but on wowhead you recommend holding it till a couple seconds into kingsbane?
Marginal difference. Holding a couple seconds is slightly better, and the optimal choice, but macroing it is perfectly fine. They’re within 0.2%ish
I got ashes from the vault this week and it is to high ilvl to pass on so I’ve been using it off branch cd for when deathmark is off cd

I always try my best to follow the sequences and then mechanics happen and I don’t know how to reset and fall into the sequence again
I’m gonna be honest, during mythic prog I haven’t seen too many instances where mechanics could be messing you up like that, but if for some reason you aren’t able to do the sequence you would just want to make sure you keep your downtime low, try to keep up envenom/shiv, and keep kingsbane/deathmark lined up
@@whispyr5793 thank you! Rogue was my first character and assassination was my first spec, but I have never devoted too much time to learning it properly. I decided to do so with this patch. Your videos have been very helpful! I mostly do m+ so my issues with mechanics are more there than in raid, but I do want to raid more on my rogue than my other toons.
Is it a mistake to rupture in kingsbane? does it mean i should planned and made sure that i don't have to do that or is that okay?
Also do i go for 5 CP Envenom when not using Death's Mark and going straight into KB or is 4 fine?
is it a mistake? no
would I generally recommend rupturing? probably not unless the rupture is going to fall off
you always want to env->dm->shiv->dance/kb. That envenom should be 5cp. If you don't have DM then the sequence is 1 gcd shorter, so you can just do a 4cp envenom
You told that bleeds aplied in stealth are buffed for full duration, its not working the same way for kingsbane? :O daymmmm

the cast sequence macro was more of a joke than anything, I would never seriously suggest anyone ever uses a cast sequence macro
