There was this one time when I was being followed by a car while going to the school in the morning. I am happy that you’re okay and safely back at home. I am doctor practising and living in Italy Florence itself for past 6-7years,robbery are very usual her.but in your case the people from the hotel/villa wineyard are totally involved.you should take action against them.bcoz usually we as local people are extremely aware of the situation here.Italian or any people staying here for long will NEVER advice to leave your belongings in the car(that too visibly through window from outside.You can complaint against them to CARABINIERI(special task force)not police there are useless here.or atleast give a bad review on the booking website were you booked it from so that people don't go such places.only then the higher authorities will take action.

Compared to bigger picture this was a small setback, it’s always a lesson for people involved. Sorry that you went through this tough! Glad it’s over and you guys got help u needed. It is during these times people who help are those we should be grateful for like the lady who gave you basics and pizza and your immediate family who came to your rescue.. aren’t we all grateful for our loved ones and kind people around us?? I went through traumatic situations too but as time passed I realized that I was too materialistic whereas the real treasure in our lives is the loved ones we earn through the journey called life and we should do our best to pass on the kindness forward and cherish the years left in their and in our lives to live a fulfilled life. ❤

This is the first vlog where I felt very sad, I could not stand seeing DT cry but this is an aspect of life, I know it’s easy to say that whatever is going to happen happened but whoever goes through it knows. Nothing is worth your lives and these things will come back inshallah. If anything happens here the people on the phone ask so many questions and take an hour to just answer questions. I saw exactly something like this happening to a Mercedes parked near Lake Como. Car theft. It is always advisable to never leave your valuables anywhere in Europe, not in hotels, not in cars. Always keep them with you. Europe theft is very common

Omg you should have checked-in before the vineyard tour 😢 I live in Europe and last year we were on Italy tour and been to Rome, Milan, Florence and Venice for 10 days, thankfully nothing happened. Although Europe is generally safe but it can happen anywhere.. there are few thing that need to keep in mind if you go touristy places and outer areas, but after watching this video I will keep all this in Mind..!

Very similar thing happened to my brother and he was standing next to the car with his back leaning against the car and his documents and valuables were stolen. Police in Italy knows about this and the government doesn’t do anything about it. Even after being aware of thefts in whole of Europe and specifically Italy your biggest mistake was to leave your sling bag probably containing all your documents behind. It is said when in Europe never leave bag containing documents anywhere unattended .
I’ve studied in Italy for 2 years and genuinely in certain areas like banking, yes even at international platforms there where you have international tourists they don’t speak English and it’s quite a frustrating experience in that country.
So sad but one thing i like that they both are very strong specially divyanka ma'am also the way that how deal with your situation i really like that they shared this situation and gave message to all now it's really appreciable 👍👏❤
I live in Hamburg. One day my husband forgot his backpack with his office laptop, his passport visa and many other important things in the train. but, the next day we got it. Someone in the train handed it to the police and the police handed it to us. This train went from one end of Hamburg to the next and still out belonging wasn't stolen. That's Hamburg ❤
If this would have happened in India with a foreign actor couple . The western media would've made it a global news and people would've started calling names to Indians . They make a big news out of everything bad that happens in India , even though crime is everywhere in the world . Indian police and Indian people are quite cooperative and helpful specially to foreigners but you didn't get help from Italian police .

Hi there, I just watched your car's robbery vlog, One thing I want to know is the car rental company replaced with another car. Actually last year I was in Europe, Italy too, luckily I survived. I rented an SUV from Zurich Airport, and the girl told me to have complete insurance, anything happens just leave the car and we replace it with a new car. By the way me and my wife are frequent travelers, we're going now from Karachi - Colombo - Kuala Lumpur - Singapore - London - Paris - London and then continue on. Every tourist who travel Italy has to experience something like this for sure. People are so rude and non helpful there. We were there in August. Car rentals, accommodation managers etc all are super rude and non caring about your problems and they are not willing to help at all.
I have travelled to over 70 countries and so here are my suggestions: Never leave any items in the car (front or back) that is visible to the eyes Never leave your passport or cards in the car when sight seeing (carry them with you or leave in vault at the hotel Have a virtual card copy (digital version that you can tap and pay via the phone) of the key cards on your celll Deactivate all your cards on your phone, if you have their mobile version and last but the not the least, you cannot expect people to speak english - the best thing to do is to use app that translates in real time from your language to theirs - That is, you say the sentence, press a button and it will translate, say in Italian in real time for the other person to hear and understand and then speak back! my 2 cents...
Can relate to your situation cos had a bad experience in Paris. There people fool you a lot cos we have paided for our bookings in advance,we can't catch them as everything is online.

Hotel is very much involved. They knew there was a theft last season yet they advised them to park there n didn’t even let them pay attention to the car theft alarm , atleast they must have known like so many locals that it’s not a safe practice n what does that alarm mean

I saw exactly something like this happening to a Mercedes parked near Lake Como. Car theft. It is always advisable to never leave your valuables anywhere in Europe, not in hotels, not in cars. Always keep them with you. Europe theft is very common

Although Europe is generally safe but it can happen anywhere.. there are few thing that need to keep in mind if you go touristy places and outer areas, but after watching this video I will keep all this in Mind..!

Robbery in Italy is very common these days
It’s so sad to see you both so Pareshan. Very similar thing happened to my brother and he was standing next to the car with his back leaning against the car and his documents and valuables were stolen. Police in Italy knows about this and the government doesn’t do anything about it.
Even after being aware of thefts in whole of Europe and specifically Italy your biggest mistake was to leave your sling bag probably containing all your documents behind. It is said when in Europe never leave bag containing documents anywhere unattended .
I’ve studied in Italy for 2 years and genuinely in certain areas like banking, yes even at international platforms there where you have international tourists they don’t speak English and it’s quite a frustrating experience in that country.
So sad but one thing i like that they both are very strong specially divyanka ma'am also the way that how deal with your situation i really like that they shared this situation and gave message to all now it's really appreciable 👍👏❤

I live in Hamburg. One day my husband forgot his backpack with his office laptop, his passport visa and many other important things in the train. but, the next day we got it. Someone in the train handed it to the police and the police handed it to us. This train went from one end of Hamburg to the next and still out belonging wasn't stolen. That's Hamburg ❤
If this would have happened in India with a foreign actor couple . The western media would've made it a global news and people would've started calling names to Indians . They make a big news out of everything bad that happens in India , even though crime is everywhere in the world . Indian police and Indian people are quite cooperative and helpful specially to foreigners but you didn't get help from Italian police .

Hi there, I just watched your car's robbery vlog, One thing I want to know is the car rental company replaced with another car. Actually last year I was in Europe, Italy too, luckily I survived. I rented an SUV from Zurich Airport, and the girl told me to have complete insurance, anything happens just leave the car and we replace it with a new car. By the way me and my wife are frequent travelers, we're going now from Karachi - Colombo - Kuala Lumpur - Singapore - London - Paris - London and then continue on.

There is no way car alarm was beeping for so long and no one noticed and on top of that, how can some outsider notice so much luggage and be so ready to just rob? And so much luggage someone is moving from a broken car to somewhere etc and no one is noticing? Main thing is how can it happen so quickly this quick, what are the odds that some robber is inside the property, happen to be inside, notice your card, so the robbery everything. And of course that other person woh to pakka hai. Someone knew from before for sure. Anyway did you give bad reviews to the property? I know it won’t matter much but still.
I am commenting as I am watching, but again as you said yeh property walon ka kuch to panga hai. We are going to Italy in November. We will be extra careful. Totally get your point, how much careful can you be, especially in a posh property like this.

Every tourist who travel Italy has to experience something like this for sure. People are so rude and non helpful there. We were there in August.
Car rentals, accommodation managers etc all are super rude and non caring about your problems and they are not willing to help at all.

I have travelled to over 70 countries and so here are my suggestions:
Never leave any items in the car (front or back) that is visible to the eyes
Never leave your passport or cards in the car when sight seeing (carry them with you or leave in vault at the hotel
Have a virtual card copy (digital version that you can tap and pay via the phone) of the key cards on your celll
Deactivate all your cards on your phone, if you have their mobile version
and last but the not the least, you cannot expect people to speak english - the best thing to do is to use app that translates in real time from your language to theirs - That is, you say the sentence, press a button and it will translate, say in Italian in real time for the other person to hear and understand and then speak back!

Have learnt from their experiences what not to do when we go for travelling abroad.
Can relate to your situation cos had a bad experience in Paris. There people fool you a lot cos we have paided for our bookings in advance,we can't catch them as everything is online.
Vivek and divyanka this is way common in out side of india that if you put any valuable things or bag in your car which is visible from glass it will get stolen at any place and any time
Now I get it why, During my tour to Europe, People from Italy were looked down upon!!
