GREAT VIDEO, Gina! So, so helpful to line up those layering stamps! For me, the guide is KEY! The layering sheet really helps to see how it all fits together, too! I like the “white image tip” you shared~~I think that will give me even better results! YAY! Also, the tip about moving the cardstock to different places on your MISTI was very helpful, too! Just practicing with one’s stamp set is often the “best way” to get successful placement every time! Marking the stamps with a “Sharpie” is helpful, too! So appreciate this video, Gina! KNOW it helped me and will help lots of other stampers, too! TFS n’ HAPPY STAMPIN’ n’ CREATIN’! Enjoy your day! :-))
I usually avoid layered stamps because of trying to get them lined up, but I think this video has given me some pointers on how to accomplish the layering. Thank you Gina for taking the time to share this valuable information.❤️🌹
Gina, thanks so much for this tutorial. I struggle with lining them up and the idea of rotating and using the three sides of your Misti was brilliant!!
Genius!! Thank you so much, Gina - I have never had very much success with layering stamps before, but this method is simple and so easy to follow (and to CORRECT when I need to) and is SO smart, I am excited to give it a try. Bonus points for showing us how to mass produce them! 🤗
Thank you, Gina--very helpful! One tip I can suggest. I don't know if this would be necessary with Gina K inks, but I know Jennifer McGuire has suggested it for other dye inks (e.g. Hero Arts, Simon Says Stamp, etc.). Basically, stamp the first layer, and either heat set that or let it air dry for maybe a few minutes, then stamp the second layer and let that dry, & so on. Since dye inks absorb into the paper, if you stamp the second layer before the first is really dry, it can make the colors kind of mush together. I've done both ways, and I can tell it does make a difference. If you are mass producing with the method you did here, you can stamp several of the first layer, then start with the first of those to stamp the second layer, etc. That gives each layer time to dry, without having to heat set each one. Anyway, just my two-cents' worth. :) I also find it helpful when lining up layering stamps to look at the second & later layers from the side after I place them on the stamped image. Just a way to double-check placement. Thank you again for sharing these tips. Have a wonderful day! :)
Your video was so helpful Gina. I have so much trouble with layering sets and the way you showed us was the best I have seen so far. Love how you put all the layers on the misti at once. Thanks so much for this video.
This is so helpful, thank you. I was observing...thinking that as the layering guide was over the previous layer, use magnet to hold guide in place, easily seeing the black contrast, then line up stamp on top of layering guide, pick up stamp with Misti lid, remove layering guide and you are ready to go. Much easier to line up stamp with the black layering guide in place over image.
Jennifer McGuire did a video demonstrating that very thing. I tried it on a layering flower set I have that's 4x8", and ran into the problem of the plastic sheet getting in the way of closing the MISTI door for some of the layers. I'm still not sure how to work that with larger stamp sets. Sigh!
Thank you, thank you, thank you Gina! I can't tell you how much this is appreciated and so helpful! I can't wait to bust out my layering stamps and give it a try!! This is just so helpful!! xo
Yay! Thank you so much!! I loved how u did this in a previous video and was dying to see how you did it. Thank you again for putting this video out so quickly 🙏🙏
How I needed this how-to video, Gina!! Thanks so much for the tips and tricks of lining up the layering stamps. It's one of my biggest struggles! Also....great way to utilize the whole surface area of the MISTI lid!! Awesome sauce!!
This is very useful, although I have a stamp set that is 2 5 layered roses and baby's breath and 3 layered leaves. I didn't even think about using the packaging as a guide. I'm not sure if I have my layers placed correctly so I'll go back and try this method.
Thanks so much for these layering tips. I often find it challenging trying to line these stamps up. You touched on one of my biggest frustrations -- the stamps sticking to my fingers. I tried touching my anti-static pad (a tip from Jennifer McGuire) and that seems to help.
Thank so much for this video it was so helpful. I will certainly give this a try. I love the look of layered flowers but just wasn't getting the look I wanted.
Years ago Stamping Up had a tab on each layer stamp and you would align each stamp using the tab as a guid…all the tabs would be placed in the same direction. I would be willing to pay more for directional tabs.
Wish I had seen this before a very frustrating hour : thank you for the super clear explanations!

Thanks, Gina - that is really helpful. I really like the idea of getting all three layers on the Misti at one time - genius!

Linda Brown I’m glad that works for you! :)

Great learning how these stamps all match up and how to mass-produce them.
Thank you! It's useful.
Thank you very much. Can't get too many how to line up layered stamp videos. I will save this video in my folder for this stamp kit.

Thanks you for the video in using this stamp set!
Great video, thanks so much. It was really helpful!
Thanks, and this might help me a lot with the layered stamps.
Great tip. Thank you! 👍🏻
If only during the manufacturing process, they could place something like registration marks on the smooth side of the stamp.
That would be so nice if they could. We did inquire about that but there just isn't a way to achieve that.

Thank you for this video. It helps a lot, but as Sharon R. said - if only there were some kind of a landmark on the stamp itself.
Great information
Thanks that was very helpful.
