Wow I didn't think a sand dune could be higher than the clouds that's epic. Imagine hiking up to enjoy the day with friends then sandboarding down must be so cool.
I'm going to Peru in August. I'm going to try sandboarding for the first time. I've been snowboarding before, so I'm I'm wondering how different it feels to control
What is sandboarding like compared to snowboarding? I've been snowboarding my whole life and have only seen sandboarding as a little extra thing sprinkled in on some snowboard videos from the 90s when everything was "totally radical dude" and the only time something this niche would get any attention. I don't even know what unlocked the core memory that motivated me to look this up, despite having lived in both mountain and desert environments exclusively I've literally never thought about it in my entire adult life. As a snowboarder I'm particularly curious about if there are any ways to implement freestyle terrain, it'd be way cool to see some lines with rails and jumps but it seems like the sand has to be mostly loose to be able to slide in it and idk if or how it'd be possible to build that sort of stuff. I can maybe see a rail with a pre-built takeoff ramp using the same type of plastic sheet that is used for the boxes that are used in snowbaording terrain parks? Obviously you can't carve on that stuff and you would need to figure out and commit to your angle in the setup, but we work with what we have right? Anyways, totally underrated sport. Among all of the 90s extreme sports fads that have come and gone this is one that deserves some love, it looks way cool and is on my bucket list of things to try.
What a run, mate, and long enough to go through the cloud layer! I don't suppose you could post the co-ordinates of that dune's exact location? Epic stuff...
@@MarianIgnev yes it is like that! But harder to keep you with good speed. If you puch too much on the edges you get stuck easy cuz the friction with the sand. Snow is water = easier to shred and flow
Diego Niño *Adapted 1.60 Rossignol snowboard. *we use “formalita” under the board. Its a material usted for some wood furniture. Helps to get less friction with the sand
