Mine arrived Friday and she is absolutely beautiful! I haven’t had a chance to really do anything other than take her out of the shipper box. This is a busy time of year for me. I’m a floral designer and wedding season is in full swing . Hopefully I’ll get some time tonight to check everything and I’ll post her number. My motivation for collecting is like yours it’s absolutely therapeutic 😊 I love dressing them and adding accessories. I collect Barbie and other dolls too that’s one of the reasons I purchased some outfits from Maryellen’s line because they will work so well with this doll especially the poodle skirt . Also, Maryellen works Great as a pseudo Midge for Barbie too!

They are releasing Barbie outfits laters this year, or so I heard, wouldn’t it make sense for us to unbox the doll so we could dress her up in new outfits? Of course some people will always keep her in the box
I received my Barbie a couple days ago. The outside packaging was not damaged, but upon opening her, one of her legs and arms were completely out of their straps. The arm was up over her head. Her neck did not have the neck strap on. She must have been thrown about terribly. All four of her limbs were extremely loose. I called customer service & they said my only option was to send her to the doll hospital. I removed ALL of her clothing & accessories & packaged her in a separate type box. I am extremely nervous & hope she comes back in good condition. Thank you for sharing your beautiful Barbie with us!
Wow, yours must have had quite a trip! I hope they send you a good one! Loos limbs seem to be an easy fix, they will probably just give her a new body.
Omg!! I love 💗 her!!😍 Her eyes and make up are perfect! 🤩 You got a good one even though her bangs are not perfect but you can restyle them. I can’t wait to get mine 🤗 I’m the same way, tracking the package 📦 and making sure I am home when she’s delivered. I feel like a little child on Christmas morning 😅 Anyway, I believe this Barbie is so worth it! She’s iconic and I feel so happy I was able to purchase her before she sold out!! I also love that she comes with a stand and glasses 👓 The inner box print is beautiful as well. I hope they will release a 2nd Barbie Collector doll because I love 💗 Barbie since I was a child and collecting these dolls are also therapeutic for me. I bought Barbie last year mostly out of FOMO and then thought I might sell her, but when she came yesterday, of course I fell in love with her! My doll’s bangs were a little messy, but I was easily able to just push them into place. One odd thing though, her ponytail had slipped completely out of the plastic strap holding it to the box, but luckily the wig wasn’t damaged at all. I am really looking forward to more outfits for her. I put her in Maryellen’s cherry outfit and she looks so rockabilly!😊
oh wow, i love her so much!! her wig seems a bit disappointing but her facepaint and adorable outfit make it up enough for me. i wasn't berry then and couldn't make up my mind fast enough, so i will just be enjoying her from afar 😊
She’s gorgeous! I got mine 2 days ago and I could not be happier with her. I actually have Barbie number one in mint condition and I seriously had to have her. The funny thing is my sister also purchased one too and now she does not want her. I told her to sell her but she gave her to me and I did give her some money lol. I Have collected vintage Mattel Barbie dolls and outfits since the early 90s. I also have collected BFMC a modern take on the vintage Barbie doll. AG Barbie doll priced at $300 is too high , considering she is not wearing an amazing vintage Barbie fashion. As far as the secondary market vintage Barbie, BFMC and now AG Barbie has priced more collectors out of the market. Congrats on unboxing your doll, it’s a toy for you and you should enjoy it any way you want. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I am looking forward to Barbie outfits because I am not stuck on the fact that it has to be the specific doll that was labelled AG Barbie. I know from a purely collector standpoint it's not the same, but it wasn't worth the price difference to me, even at the original retail price. Also, swimsuits are not my favourite on AG dolls because of the cloth body showing. This one looks fine, but I would rather see a dress. Some of the outfits from the movie would be nice.
She is super cute. I did not order this girl although I would love to have her in my collection. In a way it’s kind of interesting that the bangs don’t have lots of product. Maybe they feel softer and you can have fun redoing them? I am like you and feel the joy and happiness handling the dolls and giving them a cuddle. It is therapeutic for me as well and reminds me of childhood innocence. 🥰☺️

Kris has been wrong before, and I have only been following Selena for a year, so it can go either way. I would think with the success of the first LE Barbie Mattel would want to capitalize on the craze, once her re-sale price is confirmed (I only see it going higher from $700) Mattel would want to fill the void and take our money. If you missed the first one, would you buy her for $700 or would you buy a different version for $300? A lot of collectors who bought the first one would buy the next one too. To me it makes perfect sense for Mattel to make another one.

I have number 2747! This will be the only doll that I’m not going to unbox. I unboxed all my other LE dolls but I’m not going to take out Barbie. She’s too valuable and if I did want to take her out, I don’t to put her somewhere special.
Love her Goldy Hollywood hair. I had a hard time with this being congruent at all with AG style when I first saw her, but she’s growing. Also? Maryellen says….”Give me a Barbie style wardrobe, please. This swimsuit ain’t it.” 😉
Not having crystals all the around the swimsuit seems kind of tacky. I really dislike those bangs, don’t like them on Barbie either but I do understand they were in style at the time she came out, but the dislike of the bangs is what kept me from wanting and/or buying her for my collection. After seeing lots of posts and videos I am very happy with my decision! Your doll has beautiful face paint though so that’s great for you!
I just got mine in the mail today. I definitely think she was shaken because her stomach was protruding and her legs were dangling. She is #1548. I am so happy I got her! Enjoying her in the box as of right now. I know I will be removing her though. I feel the same way that you do. I also grew up in a poor family and had very few toys. Great video! I’ll be using your removal technique. Thanks so much.
Beautiful doll, you are very lucky to have snagged her in such a small window. Was she packaged well in box? I got a Cinderella doll & there was no packing peanuts at all! I was a little shocked that it was just the box loose inside.. This has never happened before in all the time ordering. I did also have an AG shirt and Coconut AG pillow. So, the pillow cushioned the top. She was very beautiful, but one eyes “floats” a bit which was disappointing. Many of the newer dolls seem to have this. I wish they could put more quality control on this issue.
No packing peanuts, but there was some foam packaging, i think it was packaged safely enough and the box wasn’t damaged. The curls got out of place before of shaking and that’s on Fedex, we all know how they handle packages!
I got the extra points added back in November, and then the regular points when she shipped. But I only got double points. Not sure what it was supposed to be.

Tbis happened to me with a Disney doll! Fingers crossed the upcoming Barbie collection will have some old iconic Barbie outfits!

I think a lot of people will use Barbie outfits for Maryellen if AG makes them from that era, and some people bought a custom AG Barbie.
