I love watching this channel. It shows the good in humanity and the mere fact that people can find pleasure in things they do, even if it means working with your hands. Nowadays, kids all want to work for Tesla or Google, not knowing what they're really good at. Thanks for the channel from an American living in Germany.
I can imagine how the conversations go at home: "But hun, these black cap toed oxfords are completely different from the four other pairs of black cap toed oxfords that I have. I REALLY need them. Please". At least that's how it goes for me at home for brown suede chukkas (Heschung, C&J, etc). Thank you Kirby and keep up the great videos.
Mr Allison, what a pleasure this episode was to watch. The chemistry between you and Mr Casey was awesome. Now it is May 2021 and I am sure you have your shoes already lucky you [although being lucky has nothing to do with it] Everything Mr Casey has spoken about I have tried without success to explain to shoe sales people and all I have ever receive is a blank stare. Although I was very fortunate to have a pair of bespoke shoes made for me in 1982 in Melbourne Australia [ I am 65 now] but they were for stage work and my shoe master was a cranky old fellow who didn't have time for someone who knew nothing of what he wanted. Thank you I am hoping to see your final fitting soon.
I love this story so much, Mr. Allison. I have two favorites by now - this one and lovely journey with Mr. Miller. I'm looking forward to see the end of both storylines. Thank you very much for your work here.
Before Dominic even mentioned military I could see that old school British Army Officers cap toe Oxford only in black. Coming from a family of British Army Officers I’m so familiar with this toe shape and to me it oozes old school gentleman’s club style. Beautiful. For your next pair Kirby I really encourage the Army Officer brown, it’s a gorgeous colour and will take a mirror shine beautifully, I should know as when I was a child I earned pocket money polishing my late Uncles pair to a mirror gloss finish
For me, classic military style is a bit controversial with the idea of bespoke. While in army, you would use shapes and designs that will "fit the masses", because it is easier to supply, rather than having uniforms, boots or shoes made for the individual, which is the core element of bespoke. This being said, most items using military style looks flattering on (most) men.
I'm so excited to see the finished product Kirby. Outstanding shoes. I see your wearing your favourite pin dot socks too. I must have some as well. Keep up the amazing work my friend
Impressive personal customization of high quality shoes. You would think, however, that bespoke shoes could be perfectly constructed through digital scanning and imaging of someone’s foot. Great video Kirby. Thanks.
bimmerTEK They would not have to do R and D to make such a machine. Look at some of the stuff a movie production is using. You are probably right it’s not a good investment and you want to keep the craft timeless.
Interesting to see a pair of black oxfords which have a more classical shape in contrast to your other shoes from Cleverley with the typical square toes (which i also like a lot). Congrats and great choice!
chrisk730 He’s using one of the rooms at the Carlton Club in St James’s Street which is a very traditional private member’s club founded by the Duke of Wellington in the 1830’s. Naughty Kirby - the committee don’t approve of the commercial use of the bedrooms! The traditional Clubs are different from hotels as they are only open to members: you have to be sponsored and seconded by existing members who can vouch for your good character then cleared by a committee. There is an annual fee of circa £1000 (meals, drinks and bedroom charges are on top) and also a strict dress code (jacket and tie, no jeans, sneakers or shorts ever - except the tie and jacket code is relaxed at weekends) and I’m amused to see Dominic appears to have had a haircut and put on a suit and tie in order to get past the doormen! In these Clubs you don’t tip the staff (instead you are asked to contribute to a Christmas fund). I love staying there when I’m in London as it’s like a home from home and the decor is extremely smart. The Carlton has a stunning 200 year old staircase and hallway.
Another fine video Kirby. As someone else suggested, I’m wondering if you were a bit disappointed with the bespoke shoe which Dominic Casey presented to you. I, have absolutely no experience in shoe making and my knowledge of the shoe making business is quite limited to what I learn from your videos and a few others on RUclips. However, it looked as if the shoes had too much volume and by this I mean when Mr. Casey was lifting the front of the right shoe, as you were sitting, it looked as if there was a lot of “play” in the leather. Also, I sort of got the feeling that Mr. Casey wasn’t fully grasping the essence of the meaning of your comments. Please let me know if I am way off base with my comments. Thanks.
Hi Mr Allison Are there any possibility to get a pair of bespoke shoes here in USA? I'm a 6E but I barely get my size. Do you have any recommendations. Thanks
mookie714 Dominic actually incredibly reasonable since he’s essentially working independently. Still expensive, but a bargain compared to any established houses.
Who is colour-grading these videos? The shoes are very purple in the closeup shots but black in the wider shots. Could definitely be improved. Dominic is superb and very enjoyable to listen to.
Color grading is one of our biggest challenges... however, we have reinforcements coming January 21. A very talented DP from London is joining our team here in Dallas!
mbaxter22 I gather that the ?last? captures the style of the shoe to be made that adheres to the constraints of the foot measurements. It isn't meant to be a cast of the foot.
Can Mr. Casey make custom sized sneakers based on measurements? I have a very small and extremely wide foot. I have a genetic condition that extremely affected my bone growth Many shoe companies refuse to make shoes for those sized like me. I know when I get the email back, they are chuckling and are thinking, screw you and your weird condition and your weird foot.
Sorry Kirby, But I noticed the look of disappointment on your face as soon as he fulled them out... You just didn't have the heart to break it to him, Unfortunately, they look like a pair of Kenneth Coles available for $75 at Target

Just by hearing Dominic Casey’s tone, you can really tell he’s passionate about what he does
e usana He is incredible. Very special. Can’t wait to see the shoes
@@kirbyallison neither can I !
I like that Dominic wears braces (suspenders) when dressed like he is, I do the same 👏

mrjoeyzaza 😂😂
My wife give my shoes to charity if I do not use them be aware 😬
It's hard to believe anyone would sit for thirty minutes watching a stranger try on a shoe, but then suddenly it was done! 😁

Am I the only person excited to see the finished shoes?
MrAllenm94 Definitely not!!
Dominick is the man! Such a wonderful passionate person!

like almost everything in men's style, a lot comes from the military

I was thinking the same but I will imagine that beespoke there's no big demand to cover the costs of building such a machine.

A lot of great information here! Thank you!
Nice shape on the toe box, I commissioned a pair of bespoke black cap toe Balmoral boots with the same shape and get many compliments.
an absolute master craftsman!
This is just like architecture drawing and sketches!
I learned a lot. Thanks for the video.
Did not know there was a military Oxford style. It is a very sharp looking style.
You can buy them on ebay, search for something like: UK army surplus parade shoe.
Which club so you stay in when visiting London and New York? Are they better than hotels?

This is very informative, Dominic and Kirby. I realise-of course-now that I must go bespoke...!
I have a flat foot. Can one be made to correct problem.with out any type of orthotic???
Beautiful shoes! Still very eager to know about the clubs of which you are a member of.
Jeff Brogan See my reply above regarding the Carlton Club.
This guy Dominic Casey seems like a really cool guy.
Love this but did I hear them say it took over a year to have the shoes made?
I wonder what the cost of the finished pair of shoes is ?

Dominic mentioned that the flex and space in the front will be less after he added the soul. Oops, that should be sole ... 😁
Hi Mr Allison Are there any possibility to get a pair of bespoke shoes here in USA? I'm a 6E but I barely get my size. Do you have any recommendations. Thanks
I wish I had Dominic’s hair!
Do you have any videos on how to tie a tie the way you've done in this video?
Is there going to be an update video for this bespoke shoe?
What video shows the finished shoe?
Now I want a bespoke shoe
Do you have anymore shoe fitting videos coming up
How does a cobbler make a shoe for somebody who steps crooked?
Is there a follow up to this video?
Man has mastered speaking to high-profile men from his knees with confidence
Sheldon Cooper’s doing well for himself
Hi Mr Allison so the shoe that Mr Casey brought is just a prototype?
And to think I used to wear Buster Brown when I was a kid
Buster Brown and Red Goose here .
Nice to see Kirby realising Dorminique is actually a man. Multiple videos later Kirby finally considers who he's talking to.
So confused about why we havent progressed to making a mold of foot with a more updated material.
A common, ordinarily whistle dick v's a maestro. I enjoyed this, MUHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHA!
I suppose this is one of those things where if you have to ask how much it costs you can't afford it.
mookie714 Dominic actually incredibly reasonable since he’s essentially working independently. Still expensive, but a bargain compared to any established houses.
Will Dominic be using J Rendenbach soles on your bespoke shoes?
Can a shoe last be made with a 3D printer? Grateful Grandpa

Wouldn't it be better to capture the exact dimensions of your foot, then carve the "last" out of wood using a CNC machine?
mbaxter22 I gather that the ?last? captures the style of the shoe to be made that adheres to the constraints of the foot measurements. It isn't meant to be a cast of the foot.
If you want shoes taken off a CNN machine , why bother with bespoke . just go to marks and Spencer.
If i was ballin i would do this
Ok, guys, I am heading to payless, anyone wants to come? this is too much.
The question is though
Are the shoemakers shoes bespoke made by the shoemaker
Can Mr. Casey make custom sized sneakers based on measurements?
I have a very small and extremely wide foot.
I have a genetic condition that extremely affected my bone growth
Many shoe companies refuse to make shoes for those sized like me. I know when I get the email back, they are chuckling and are thinking, screw you and your weird condition and your weird foot.
But you never walked in them . . .
Sorry Kirby,
But I noticed the look of disappointment on your face as soon as he fulled them out...
You just didn't have the heart to break it to him,
Unfortunately, they look like a pair of Kenneth Coles available for $75 at Target
Really elegant simple shape. I want a pair. So many shoes are ugly.
