Accelerated Battery Development - Prof. Helge Stein

Building #batteries all around the clock, analyzing thousands of interfaces, evaluating the results autonomously with the help of artificial intelligence (#AI), and planning the next experiment - Prof. Helge Stein introduces his autonomous research laboratory called PLACES/R (platform for accelerated battery material development).
#HighThroughput experimentation is a key to faster and more efficient battery material development. The facility can test several hundreds of material variations every day. This concept holds great potential in accelerating the discovery process for new batteries and could play a central role in tackling societal challenges related to climate change.
Helge Stein is a professor at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and conducts research at the Helmholtz Institute Ulm and at the Cluster of Excellence POLiS.
