  • The most rewarding part of fixing up an old car is being able to showcase it to someone who knew the car at the peak of its condition. In this episode, I get to introduce my neighbor Susan to the 2002 Acura RSX Type S 6-speed that she bought new in January 2002 and sold to me in late 2022. It is always a labor of love bring a car back to life! Thanks for watching!

    This was her daily driver but hearing her talk in the garage clearly indicates she’s a “car guy”. She had a Mercedes 190 as I did in n the 1980’s when I purchased a 1987, in 1988 as a low mileage pristine used from Mercedes dealer. Thanks for sharing. Beautifully done.

    You went ALL out on this one! This reminds me of all my restorations. But I only brought 1 of 60 back to the previous owner; my 2000 Lexus “RX” after my restoration and some upgrades and they seriously could not believe it was the same car I had to dig deep in that one and replace the knock sensors as it was in limp mode making it stuck in low speed. The RSX is happy it landed in your hands! :)

    It's an RSX Type S people. When this car came out, they were a dime a dozen. Could be found multiple times every hour of the day. Nothing special. And yet, its hyped up nowadays LOL.

    • @TysonHugie
      @TysonHugie  Год назад

      Good point!

    • @renaldoharris7951
      @renaldoharris7951 Год назад

      same can be said for any honda but the value of older honda in this condition is rare

    • @JacesOwnWorld
      @JacesOwnWorld Год назад

      @@renaldoharris7951 agreed. I 100% agree. Most kids nowadays hyping up Honda’s, never lived through the 90’s to early 00’s. Honda’s were owned by poor boys (still are), and the term “RICE” was specifically made because of Honda’s of this era. So much noice (fart cans for real) for such little power. Nobody was consistently turbo’ing them, because the tuning software was not that great back then. The average person slapping a turbo (on anything) onto a factory N/A car, was also getting their crap blown up working a month or two, because turbo technology and tuning wasn’t great back then. When the factory Dodge Neon SRT-4 came out, that thing was a monster, and that pretty much elevated the turbo game back then. Yes, there were cars like the Supra TT, 300ZXTT, and RX-7, that were turbo from the factory, but these were much higher tiered cars over Honda’s and Acura’s, when it came to the sports car world.
      Finding an old Honda is not rare nowadays lol. I can pick one up today if I wanted. But they’re nothing special IMO, and only poor boy Honda fanboys are hyping them up, just like they were in the 90’s-early 00’s.
      Yes, the Integra Type R and RSX Type S, were better than the average Civic, According, CRX, Prelude, Legend, etc. cars. But they weren’t anything “special”. Everyone had them! What was special was a 3000GT VR4, NSX, Supra, RX7, etc. So why people hype these cars up nowadays make no sense, besides that they’re Honda fanboys. And ironically, the same type of people that owned these cars back then are the same type of people owning them today lol.
      I mean, the only reason the new CTR and Integra Type S, are as “quick” (if you even want to call them that) nowadays, is because Honda finally caught up to the rest of the world, and put a turbo into their engine from the factory. So to say it’s “special” in that regard is laughable. I mean, VW has been making 2.0T’s for how long now???? 🤣
